House Guest Massacre (2013)
Invite House Guest into your home!
House Guest is a beautifully done independent film. Well written, and the acting is solid. All the elements (Writing, acting, editing, cinematography) that were put together to make this film work great. You get a well balance of a thriller, comedy, and drama all in one. Most indies usually end up being these low-budget looking, cheesy final products of what the film is, and House Guest isn't. I give it a 5 out of 5 stars. If you come across this film and wonder if it's worth checking out, you should go for it! Available on DVD and Digital download for a really great price. Wouldn't mind checking out future projects from the filmmakers, and everyone involved in this film.
Girls Gone Dead (2012)
A film for horror fans
The director of Scary Tales, ROT: Reunion of Terror, and Spring Break Massacre brings us his next big movie. Girls Gone Dead features 6 college girls enjoying a getaway spring break vacation, when a masked killed wielding a medieval war hammer and battle axe decides to ruin their plans. The film features a "Girls Gone Wild" knock-off known as "Crazy Girls Unlimited", hosted by The Howard Stern Show's own Sal The Stockbroker, and Beetlejuice, where they film girls going "crazy". Everyone involved in this film did an amazing job adding in all the elements to make a campy, T&A comedic thriller, and it pays off. The films quality picture wise, and all the colors are done very nicely, and it's noticeable they put hard work into pulling this movie off. So many great and hilarious cameos, great and funny dialogue, LOTS OF T&A for everyone, and is just an overall phenomenal spring break slasher film.
I give it 5 out of 5 stars. If you're a fan of campy horror, or horror/thrillers in general, you're going to have a good time with this film!
Orphan (2009)
Best thriller in years
Orphan has to be one of the best thrillers to come from Hollywood lately. With everything being remade, there seems to be no more originality in movies these days. With Orphan you're not going to be sitting there watching and thinking "Hey, I've already seen this happen in dozens of movies." and that is what truly makes this film unique from all the other thrillers today.
This film is two hours long, but didn't have a boring moment in it. The story and characters working together give you exactly what you paid for. This film doesn't disappoint. A thriller that will have the view grasping onto the edge of their seat from start to finish.
Almost every horror/thriller movie these days use CGI, and digitally added special effects to create scars, Orphan does not. The gore and horror in this film is very believable, and very realistic. So much so, that it had me clenching each time a moment like that happened in the film. Orphan is a must see!
