The Grand Tour: The Grand Tour: One for the Road (2024)
Wish I could...
Wish I could tell them how many of my days of mine they made better. There are countless days where no one made me happy, smile or laugh but they always did. Whether it was just leaving them on as background noise for comfort when I was alone or tuned it like I was there with them. I could always count on them. Jeremy felt like a British version of my grandfather and it felt nice to think that, considering my grandfather barely spoke English. Wish there could be a way I could personally thank them and even hug them. I love the relationship they shared with each other and in turn with us. Thanks for being there when no one else was.
Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)
Not worth exploring
I forced myself to finish watching this, although it did have some redeeming qualities and moments, I just couldn't get past the game graphic backgrounds and the horizontal 2D feeling of the cinematography. Not all parts were like this, it was only the CGI backgrounded scenes. The story beats felt too fast paced and nothing felt like it had order or enough time to settle. The characters didn't feel like friends to me, they just felt like co-stars. The chemistry just wasn't there. Sokka, Zuko, Uncle Iroh and Momo were the only believable characters, who also felt closer to how they felt in the show.
The Bear (2022)
Careful watching if you have anxiety
That's all I have to say. So I'm gonna add in more filler words so I can post this with this corny required character minimum which makes me not want to leave reviews anymore but this isn't a review more than it is letting some people know that this is a warning on how anxiety filled this show is. But don't take that the wrong way. The show is absolutely entertaining almost always and the characters develop in a meaningful way that makes me yearn for some self development. I could really use a Cousin moment in my life. Finding some meaning in a presumably set destiny of failure. There's always hope.
Scream (2022)
I knew who the killer was
From the trailer I knew who at least one of the killers could be and I was 80% percent sure. The other was a total random character and was impossible to guess since somehow they were miraculously taller and stronger when they had on the mask. That's so corny, they were shot three times and were able to fend off people that are double their size (when the mask was off). Stop letting Hollywood get away with these cheap movies. It needs to end.
Red Notice (2021)
I can't....
How do they still get away with these "good on the eyes but bad taste in the mouth" movies? I don't know.
This was hands down one of their most predictable, most plot hole filled, most uninspired movies of this year. Actually of this century. This is the type of movie that looks good in trailers and has a bunch of those actors you love to see but none of the depth and imagination you know you won't get.
Trust me when I say this. You seen it once, you've seen it a million times. Hard skip. I was laughing at the movie the entire time from how bad it is. If you like to do that, than watch the movie.
Last Night in Soho (2021)
I really enjoyed the concept of this movie
The movie was good in the first half but as soon as the movie started unraveling all the secrets and all the good stuff, I couldn't help but notice all the plot holes or the parts that were misleading. The acting was decent but some of the supporting actors were maybe directed too cheesy.
Dune: Part One (2021)
I think someone paid people to review this movie
A lot of the reviews seem fake. They all say the same thing and have the same mannerisms with almost the same words being used to describe the movie as well. The movie was stunning visually. Boring and very unintelligible. Only thing I got from it is the main character is the messiah (of course, why wouldn't he be). That's pretty much it and everything else just seems like you had to read the book this was based off of to understand. Not good for new audience and also not a unique story from what I was able to pick up.
Dýrið (2021)
Why was this so long?
This movie was too long and had barely any dialogue. Which I like, if it involves moving the plot forward in an interesting way but this movie doesn't. It's just boringly quiet. Has a huge build up to a anticlimactic reveal, with a boring subplot, that followed an even more anticlimactic ending. You could've went to pee at any moment of this movie and not have missed a thing. I was expecting some horror but this just isn't at all. I couldn't wait for it to end. Almost walked out. Wish I had.
Westworld (2016)
Couldn't Finnish season 3
I absolutely love the first season and the second was a good follow but in my opinion they should've kept this a limited series and ended it with season 2.
Kate (2021)
I don't get why they keep making movies from formulas
Oh wait......$
Dumb and predictable, cool action scenes and decent acting. The story is so rushed and the characters are forced onto us without any real character buildup, because they don't have time to most likely. The little girl goes from normal girl to traumatized girl, to psychopath by the end. This movie felt like it could've been better. Mainly because it was done better by movies such as John Wick or Crank.
Wrath of Man (2021)
The action wasn't the best part
The best part of this movie was all the false hope feelings the director kept creating. For example, making us think someone will survive and they actually don't. The movie had too many coincidences for my taste. If they could've furthered the plot line without all those, I think this could've been a decent movie. I'm not a fan of movies that just constantly rely on coincidences. The only one that should've been in this movie is the protagonist's defining motive in the movie.
Malignant (2021)
I can't wait to see this on cinema sins.....
This movie was soooo promising, I could ignore the bad acting for the interesting plot. But the movie just kept falling into every corny horror movie trope. Including new ones that should never happen in any movie. They ignore their own movie logic which for me is the main reason it sucked.
Don't Breathe 2 (2021)
This definitely had its moments
It was a pretty decent movie, it was trying to do new things with the movie franchise and most of it worked. I gotta say I was trying to find ways to roast the movie while watching it but other than some corny scenes and a few ex machinas, the movie was actually entertaining and exciting. The end was good until the end credits.... I'll leave it at that.
Old (2021)
This has pOLDtential
The acting was very choppy, the dialogue seems to have been written by kids, there were plot holes that could've easily been filled if the entire movie wasn't focused on filling or setting up other things so that it made "sense" or so the audience wouldn't feel left out. It misses the mark but this could've been good had they changed the editing, dialogue and tweaked the story a little so the ending was more vague and less mystery incorporated.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Since when is JK Simmons so jacked?
And 2, the movie started out pretty solid, then started slowly turning into a movie that seemed pretty basic and usual. It had a good story but it fell short of being original and/or unpredictable. Although I really really enjoyed the first half of the movie. Just wish they kept that up.
It Takes Two (2021)
It's very fun and cool
What I love most about this game is the level designs. Me and my wife are always kinda upset that these places seem like they could be real but they're not so it kinda sucks that we can't be there. Very different than anything else I've played and it always has something new to do every level. Keeps you interested for sure.
Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet (2020)
Soooo close to being a better show
If they get rid of the corny love stories and focus on characters that work together to create funny scenes, this show would be top notch. I know it's hard to push the story but man they are under utilizing funny characters and showing too much attention to soooo not funny characters i.e. The gamer girls.
The Curse of La Llorona (2019)
One thing
Not only was this movie terrible but it had me at when the kid said "I'm just imagining things" to his mom when she seen his burns from after he was physically attacked by La Llorna and then the girl was also attacked and said "I fell"........she fell..... what reason did they have to lie? What kind of kids are these? Also I'm so tired of the little girls moving the plot of a movie just because they are so attached to their dolls. I can't explain how freaking stupid that is. I would throw my kids out if they did one thing these kids did in the movie.
The Lighthouse (2019)
Grim tale that doesn't catch you right away
I watched this movie about 3 times now, all I can say is how fantastic it is. Every aspect of the movie is done perfectly from the acting, the score, the filmography and the story. At first it seemed like a movie I'd never watch but towards the end I was so sucked in, it made me want more but also not at the same time. I enjoyed this more than I should and a part of me connected with it on a deeper level. What's funny is I can't find out what emotion for sure. I do know, I feel especially connected to the light house itself. The madness of it and its mystery.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Good but not scary at all
I liked the creepy feeling this show had but this was no different then a drama tv show in the intensity or even for the fear factor. This could have been way more entertaining if I wasn't expecting frightening scenes but I was disappointed. They marketed this as a scary show and it had some scenes that fit the bill but majority were just normal scenes. The main character didn't even know the place was haunted until literally the last episode. At least in hill house the characters knew something ghostly was happening and the scenes were filled with fear. This was just a love story (stories) with a twist.
Tenet (2020)
I don't know
I think the movie was good but I honestly had no clue what they were saying for 90 percent of the movie and when I could hear it seemed like I missed something. Action and visuals were really cool tho.
The Signal (2014)
Too corny
First off what the hell was a cripple and his nerdy friend gonna do to the guy once they found his "signal" in the dark, breaking and entering. Secondly the acting was terrible. Third, they didn't care to explain anything or even show time go by. It all just felt like a it happened in a day. Who was he talking to in the vent? How was able to sneak out unseen? Why was he given a pen so that he could write on his bed? Why were they given prosthetics? Why did they let them escape? Why were there "people"? Why did they reveal themselves at the end? What actually happened to his friends? All these things that should have been answered, weren't.
The Guest (2014)
I'm not sure if this was supposed to be quirky but....
I only gave it a 2 because this movie.....well honestly I'm not even sure why I gave it a 2. It just seemed really badly written and the acting was worse than a middle school play. It began okay but then just went down hill really quickly. I really started laughing at the movie as if it were a comedy. It was as bad as killer clowns from outer space and that movie was horrendous.
The Invisible Man (2020)
'Twas a good movie but I wanted...
....I wanted the movie to end very differently, sadly the movie was predictable and I was hoping to be wrong. If they could have done something from the classics like "Fight Club" or any other movie with a twist ending or an ending that keeps you guessing, I would have gave this movie a 10. Other wise this was a good movie, kept me intrigued for sure.
Knives Out (2019)
I don't see how it got good ratings
I thought this movie was going to be a mystery, the only mystery was solved in the middle of the movie and your easily able to narrow it down between two people. It wasn't that surprising of a reveal and the other characters stories were almost irrelevant. I wanted to be confused and surprised. But they focused too much on one character. It wasn't a terrible movie I just regret paying to see it.
