An unholy mess of a film but a fun one at that.
Firstly There were atleast 5 movies worth of plot in this new juice joint. Characters are introduced as integral to the story and are then unceremoniously slap dashed out the frame. Set peices and plot points start with a shout but end with a shrug. Too many ghouls in this kitchen for it to be a fully satisfying watch.
Had they picked one or two of these story lines and really honed it in it could have been great.
That said it was a fun ride. Visually on point and I chuckled a few times. Keaton came correct as the Ghost with the most. But to me Catherine O Hara really carried the flick. God she's just the best.
It was clever but convoluted. Some great gags, witty dialogue and set peices but ultimately it was too much and way too rushed.
I can only imagine There will be more Beetle coming soon. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (Threetlejuice?) is probably right around the corner. I just hope they take a minute to let the story breath this time.

It's like every Alien movie rolled into one. Taking the best elements of the lore and gore and throwing an unflinching magnifying glass on them. Its demented, sick and a pulsating gooey fun ride. Pays homage to predecessors yes but never feels like fan service. This is it's own twisted nightmare and the Alien movie i have been waiting for . Easily the best in the franchise outside of the first two. Also the set ,sound design and effects are top notch.
As a jaded fan and someone who has seen this franchise done so dirty this is a massive step in the right direction. Fede Alvarez came through in spades Can't wait to see it again.

A muddled affair but visually engaging. It did manage to capture (at least in the beginning) that hazy fever dream like nostaligia of childhood television. The sets bathed in neon and television static did give me the vibe I was hoping for but the movie itself failed to live up to what was happening visually. It was incredibly scatter brained in its story telling. None of it really seemed to lead anywhere and to me these ideas and themes never properly blended together. I will say the film maker is talented and it's unique in its own way but I didn't feel it was a satisfying watch. Visually cool but that wasn't enough to save it from getting lost in itself.
I suggest everyone check out Dandy Dust. If i can recommend a neon soked queer film is truly insane that would be it.
