We ABSOLUTELY enjoyed this movie. Made us laugh over and over and over again. What could've been just another mindless kids movie was actually very well done, amazing special effects, and most of all - FUNNY! I don't know what all the grouches are complaining about, but the reality is that this movie was a pleasant escape from all that's going on in the world, and isn't that what movies are supposed to be? And to be clear, my wife and I are in our 60s, our kids are grown so we get to choose whatever movie we want these days! LOLL. So if you're ok with the fact that not all movies are Citizen Kane, give this one a try and enjoy the 90 minutes of fun.
What a pleasant surprise!! Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this movie, there was not a single wasted scene or minute, no filler, and NO gratuitous nonsense that Hollywood loves to feed us these days. June Squibb is great - once again! - you just root for her through the whole movie. I still can't believe that she was one of the executive producers - God bless her!!! The supporting cast were all wonderful, so great to see Parker Posey in this role, shows her range and how great an actress she really is. Clark Gregg as the dad provided excellent comic relief, and Fred Hechinger as the grandson was simply fantastic. Enjoy this movie!!!!
Absolutely loved this film, it was funny, touching, sad at times, and overall it was enjoyable from beginning to end. If you're Italian and you remember holidays of decades past, this is a MUST SEE. Joe Pantaliano , Paul Ben-Victor, and Ray Abruzzo as the uncles were hilarious, had my crying with laughter again and again. The dialogue and expressions were so true to all of my own Italian uncles, and you just had to love them all. Skyler Gisondo shows us once again that he he's a great actor, he played the part so well, not over the top, but just right. And the icing on the cake - great music from the early 80s! See this film !!
