Note to self. Don't let the sons make a film about the father. Bad wigs, bad acting - covers that don't sound like the originals Tone is all over the place. Just bad and poor Jeremy Jordan in a terrible wig. Jason Isaacs so miscast. The actresses are badly used. Just a bad version of Scorsese or PT Anderson. How did this get a wide release? Who financed it? It should have gone straight to video. The lead character is unlikable and inconsistent. This is a vanity project if there ever was one. The script is terrible and the directing borrows from a bunch of different movies. Expect to see this on VoD very soon.
Wow this show is lazy and bad. What sounds like a simple, albeit tired idea, somehow receives the most stupid convoluted set up. Fran is just playing the same character she always does. The jokes are lame. Everyone looks uncomfortable. I'd feel bad for Adam Paley but he's a producer on the show, so he only has himself to blame.
Despite telling us how different this show is from the others, The Four is just a rip-off of all the other singing shows, despite what might seem like an intriguing premise. It has very polished contestants like The Voice, but, unlike The Voice, the judges are unlikable (except for Meagan) and they have no chemistry. Diddy is a downright D-bag. He thinks he's channeling Simon Cowell, but he's just a poor man's dick head. The major problem with the show is that it's disjointed, and you can't get invested in the contestants, especially "The Four" that start out in the coveted seats. We are constantly told how great they are, but frankly, we just don't see/hear it for ourselves. The show is bad enough on its own, but Diddy makes it unwatchable.
