Well let's face it. I'm a really big fan of the series. So let's say i'm not quite objective when i see a star wars movie. I remember as a child, not knowing what i was watching, to be amazed by the story and special effects of the first trilogy (well the second). For years i tried to put my hands back on it, and then a friend lent me the tapes of episode 4, 5 and 6. My love had now a name. A couple of years later was released episode I. I liked it even if i know how bad it is. Then episode II. A bit better, but still really really bad... and then yesterday evening, episode III. Total failure? At least, at last, a good one! We've been waiting for that one. Like i just said, it's this movie that "war" back into the Star Wars double-trilogy! But first the critics! mainly my hard feelings are going to Padme! As well as she could play in the first two episode, as well as Anakin was really (oh yeah really really) bad in episode II, well she is really bad in episode III. Hopefully, she is not appearing too often. And now Anakin. Has he finally improved? oh yes he has! The dark side is string in him, and he really has it, that special touch that makes you feel so dizzy when he start getting mad! OK, i'm stopping here, go watch and check out yourself for the lightsabers, and other special effects and the fights, etc...
A group of friends has to go to a wedding, and decide to take a drive trough the American Midwest to get there... but they get lost...have to spend the night in a bed and breakfast, in a little Midwestern town. Soon the whole city turn into zombies, and start killing everyone. Let's face it, you should not expect a great scenario, but who would expect a great scenario in a zombie movie. This one is a especially good. Cut into chapters, separated by country songs, the whole thing is well directed and well played (in context : this is a zombie film, not the next Oscar winning blockbuster), and blood is dripping all over the place, a bit of humor, and bits and pieces of bodies. A future classic of the genre. And you should watch the remix of Jackson's "Thriller" while the zombies are attacking : hilarious. Another highpoint is the presence of Carradine (Bill in Kill Bill), yeah! Zombie Rocks.
Far away in the future, a bunch of guys are waiting to be chosen as miss Haikiki. On earth, war is raging against Mars. The first ones are the only chance the second one can survive... Mixing Star Trek and Star Wars could be a good idea, and making fun of those movies can be a high point in fun...can...this movie is a total failure (except for special effects who are really good for this kind of a movie). Well, i saw this movie at 1 am at the Brussels international Fantasy Film Festival, and i should have better slept it trough. The only scene that is good enough to be seen is the car-washing scene, but the other 80 minutes, you should better leave the room. The movie was so plainly unfunny that the whole theater was falling asleep (as i couldn't, drank to much cafeine). The good thing about the movie is that it has end...well like every other movie, but in this one, it's the only unexpected thing you're waiting for... Go get a life and don't watch it...or you could watch Space Balls and have fun.
