Absolutely phenomenal writing, directing and acting. The dialogue felt very grounded and raw; I enjoyed that the therapist actually stayed professional rather than trying to act as a friend to him, it's so hard but it's the reality. So often shows like this take a maternalistic approach with therapists and teachers (ie. Gifted, Shrinking, Palmer, etc) where they go out of their way to unprofessionally take the client or student under their wing, treating them as their own child. This show did it RIGHT, and it made it all the more emotional and REAL.
Obviously we all know Owen is a star in the making, if he delivered each of those monologues with little to no cuts that's unbelievable; he embodied exactly the emotions an angst filled teenager would portray when faced with such conflicting feelings. Oscar worthy all the way.

Who the hell, even in the early 2000s, would have enjoyed Good Luck Chuck besides men who are exactly like the pervy, disgusting best friend character in this movie?
I went into it thinking- this is such a relatable concept! Sometimes I feel like everyone I just recently got out of a relationship with finds their soulmate right after me, too!
I kept watching, even after the 10 year old closet r*pe opener, just clinging to the hope that somehow they'd make it better. They didn't- in fact they made it so much worse.
It's like someone made a bet against the writers that they couldn't fit every single stereotype and joke at the expense of women into one movie.
Jokes on that person!! The writers won!!

This is the first movie I saw in theaters since February 2020, and I could not have picked a better movie to see.
Props to Nikole Beckwith for creating one of the most UNIQUE rom-coms I've ever seen- I don't think I've ever seen a movie explore platonic love so flawlessly. It's a trope that, especially regarding male/female friendships, is rarely done well.. if at all. So many groundbreaking little scenes and quotes that just left me in awe.
Ed Helms was fantastic- I think he really found his niche in dramedy, embracing his age and playing such a unique role here. Patti Harrison is someone I've admired through YouTube performances and sketch shows, but seeing her play the lead in a full- length film with such depth- she BLEW me away.
This is a MUST see- I left the theater wanting to go right back in and watch it again.
