Such a shame, as Paul Rudd is a fantastic protagonist. In fact, this movie, along with the previous, arguably has the most likable group of actors out of all the MCU movies. However, unlike the first, the pacing in this one was pretty terrible. Overall, the screenplay is pretty poorly written outside of clever jokes here and there. A few of the plot points were either inevitable or completely unnecessary. I was shocked to learn that a third movie is on its way. I'm hopeful that they can learn what works and what doesn't from these first two films. Mostly, I hope that they love on from this main plot that the two movies overall focus on.
It certainly takes getting used to. The first few episodes didn't do it for me. However, I do feel like they're starting to find their groove a bit. I love the bumbling bartender bit at the beginning, that doesn't remotely need to be changed. As someone else pointed out, (Hilariously mentioned in an episode) the Log Mask Puppet things just doesn't do it for me. A unique attempt at humor, but I'd scrap it.
I'd really suggest this being a limited series. For sure a once in a blue moon thing, as I could easily see it going stale fast. I'd recommend Are You Scared? If you're just now making it over to Watched from Buzzfeed Unsolved like I did recently.

I love this series! The artwork reminds me of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. Not sure if that was done on purpose to hit our nostalgia hard, but it certainly did work. The Boys' humor is top notch, very comparable to their reactions in Buzzfeed Unsolved. As always, Shane is the Bee's Knees. His skepticism, especially as someone that is a believer in the paranormal, is refreshing every time. My one minor gripe is a couple of the stories aren't as engaging. Given the fact that the Boys' read these for the first time, I'm hopeful in the future whoever does do the research for this can see what works & what doesn't.
