Frustrating
The 1st half of the film is pretty realistic and believable, 2nd half not so much. The terrorists kill your captain, then the mother of your child, and you obtain their glass weapon which you have the whole time in the cockpit, yet you obey all their commands because you have an injured arm and the 18 year old terrorist has the same glass knife? He is distracted on numerous occasions, while you sit there with the same weapon and yet you want to save the guy at the end? Also terrible that over 80+ people on the plane sat there to let all this happen while their fellow passengers are slaughtered one by one. Please don't cut me with your glass knife!
House of Ho (2020)
No matter your financial status, we all have issues.
Thank you HBO for finally representing an Asian family on television! Anyone who has married into an Asian family can relate to Lesley being the daughter in law trying to fit in with the new family or Judy the daughter going through a divorce. It's refreshing to see it from the perspective of Asian culture.
Too many of the reviews focus on the wealth of the family instead of the issues that we all face in life. The family is rich but who cares? Unfortunately, if they were poor or middle class, they would not have their own show because it's the society we live in, we want to watch the rich and famous for the things we dont have. Being Asian myself, my wife and I can totally relate to all the issues the cast goes through. You want your parents' blessings but we all need to live life based what's best for us and not how it makes your parents' social status. My wife and I are enjoying the show and we hope for more seasons ahead!
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020)
Eurovision is for real!
After watching this film with my wife, I thought this was just a made up premise, no way it's real. Well, I read other reviews and then asked my neighbor from the UK, he confirmed with me that Eurovision is a real thing. It's like watching a super karokee contest, it's cheesey as heck but so entertaining.
Rachel McAdams steals the show, she is so adorable and sweet throughout the movie, it's hard not to route for her. The movie is super funny and perfect for the Covid-19 world we currently live in, hopefully the major networks pick up the Eurovision broadcasts in the future so North America can join the fun.
This movie will make Eurovision a global phenomenon that it deserves, many thanks to Will Ferrell.
Street Food: Asia (2019)
Street food with heart
I've watched 3 episodes so far and I plan on finishing the series. So far it's an awesome food series across Asia with personal stories of each of the vendors. I love the way the series connects the viewers with how they each started their business and the hardships they each suffered before making it their business successful. This separates this series apart from the many other foodie shows on Netflix. If you are interested in just the food, then Street Food may not be for you. I am already excited for volume 2!
