Quality movie from very good producers. Casting was great as all the actors were believable from the lead, Danielle Savre was really good as well as the co-leads and down to the streets toughs and the evil perpetrators. I must applaud the writers for writing an intelligent police detective instead of the usual trope of an inept Barney Fife character. The writing was sharp and edgy and never relented on pace and development. The director and crew gave this movie a very professional feel. I really don't have any gripes with this movie and look forward to more entertainment from it's producers. Lifetime should only be as happy as I am with the time I invested enjoying this movie.
Emmanuelle Vaugier is the only only redeeming thing about this movie. Everything else, writing, casting, wardrobe reeked Canadian. The stepdaughter's role was miscast with an actress that was one dimensional at best as well as the crazy sister whose accent interfered with her role are only two of the many problems affecting this movie. Having said this, I watched the entire movie and was entertained somewhat. Production values were low, bad acting was pervasive (especially the teens), but I never miss an Emmanuelle Vaugier movie, hopefully before she produces another movie she will demand a more competent production level before assigning her name to it.
A really good movie. Of course Kari Matchett again hits it out of the ballpark with her usual aplomb, her performance alone is worth the time invested. But Kari didn't have to do all the heavy lifting because the casting of this movie is unusually strong. Inga Cadranel shined as she stood out among a really fine acting lineup, usually there is always at least one actor'ess/character who is unable to keep up but this movie's cast is really solid. Writing never lost track of the pace, nor insulted us with tropes, the mood was almost noir-like and I appreciated the writers not resorting to the easy-out way with their story. The direction was on a Hollywood feature level and the production levels were tops. You can tell those associated with this movie were pros. I have to say this again, if Kari Matchett is cast in a TV/Movie it is must see viewing.
