I'm a big fan of Dylan, as '13 Reasons Why' is amazing and the odd other movies I've seen him in have been pretty decent; so I went into watching this movie with hopeful expectations since the preview looked relatively thrilling.
The acting overall was plausible and I don't blame the actors for this monstrosity. This movie started off with enough potential and then fell horribly, horribly flat.
Whomever wrote this piece of junk should not quit their day job, as writing screenplays is quite obviously not their specialty.
Don't waste your time with this disappointment, because you will not get your half and a half back.
Big shame on Netflix for greenlighting this obviously without reading the script or else they would have known better than to shoot any 'Netflix Originals' credibility they have in the foot.
-999 out of 10 for complete and utter garbage.

I PVRed this movie to watch after seeing countless previous on the movie channels and I'm glad I did! I went into this not expecting much and was very, very pleasantly surprised.
It did remind me a little bit of a lighter version of '8 Mile', and is an inspiring story nonetheless (so much so that I had to write a review - which I never do).
Main actress and supporting cast are great and I felt myself crying happy tears at the end.
To the nay sayers of this film, they need to drop their negativity at the door and open their heart to the vulnerable beauty that is shown withing this film.
