When holiday films are so bad that they don't even work on Hallmark they apparently show up on Amazon, Roku or Freevee.
WOW! Alone, neither of these character have an ounce of compelling screen presence - together they have even less.
I'm not sure if this actress has a paralysis or really bad cosmetic surgery done on her lips but she has truly strange speech pathology.
The writing is offensively sophomoric.
The accent, real or not are cheesy as all get out.
I give them credit for not using the standard Hallmark holiday film formula, but then again, on second thought maybe they should've?
Toward the end of this lame travelogue flick comes probably my favorite lines - Marko the restaurant proprietor proclaims the main course feature on the plate as something that sounds like Uranus but he calls it Marko's spread! That pretty much says it all.

My sense is that there was something there, but there was just too much weirdness to dig through to get to it. I lasted about 3 episodes a truly started tuning out about halfway through through the first episode.
Don't get me wrong, I generally like message plots with socio-political significance and I usually like the process of finding the message and figuring out how it applies to contemporary social consciousness.
This series, however seemed like the most mediocre of mediocre indy film quality; which in itself, is distracting. But it really became a labor to watch very very early on, in fact I got so bored with it I started playing solitaire and occasionally checking in on what was playing on the TV screen and saying to myself "OK so nothing new or significant yet...."
Again... I'll go back to my original statement, there's probably something here if you are willing to sit through this thing but I question if it's really worth it and if it's really new or just rehashing old social problems and issue that we already know?

I think it could've been a good movie, the concept was a good idea. It starts harmlessly like any intentionally made to not offend Hallmark type shmaltz, but when the fake Italian with the totally over the top intentionally fake sounding unintentionally entirely overplayed camp went on way too long... and then didn't stop when it got a little too overdone, I had to turn it off! As an Italian America with many relatives who speak English with an Italian accent, I get the joke, but this guy was so bad at it and the joke went on way too long to the point it became offensive to my ears like finger nails on a chalk board.
