The behaviors in this movie are so ridiculously unbelievable as to be distracting to any real story. People do not flock to those with disfigurement as if they are rock stars. Women are not standing in line to spend time with men who have severe physical disfigurement or disabilities. The whole premise of this movie makes zero sense. If it had something amazing to say, I could embrace this altered reality, but it doesn't. Particularly in the second half, this movie just becomes something weird with nothing for the audience to sympathize with or relate to. I only gave this a two for the excellent acting.
This story has very little that hasn't already been shown on other documentaries or interviews. I was hoping to see a side of Pam that was deeper or more interesting than what we've seen before, but that is sadly not the case. Additionally, Pam continues to act offended that there's so much focus on her body, taking no responsibility for the situation, even though she paraded around, half dressed, and numerous Playboy magazine appearances. In fact, Pamela Anderson would have no career without her body. She sites interviews with people like Jay Leno, where she feels offended by the focus on her breast, yet she's always wearing something super tight or low cut. Cry me a river.
I do think she had a rough childhood, with an abusive father and was sexually abused by more than one person. As a result, she went on to make terrible decisions with men.
I also have to give her kudos for filming without makeup! She's still a beautiful woman in a natural way.
