Detektiven från Beledweyne (2023)
Unlogical and unrealistic
I ll liked the premise; incompetent downbeated prosecuter takes help from a asylumseeker detective.
The problem is that the characters are unlikeable. She is arrogant and selfabsorbed. He is boring.
If she was the comedic relief (like dr Watson) and he was portraid as smart. (Maybe some clever editing explaning why). And some better story. Now they are relying on.what some call mcguffing. (A special event that happens nearby). It just does not make sence. Some people are not behaving like normal.
The actors are fine. The photo is ok. The editing a little bit off. Its hard to hear What some character are saying sometimes.
It could be an interesting tv-show with some more development.
Ozark: A Hard Way to Go (2022)
Fitting ending
Too.bad Ruth was murdered.
It was designed to make you angry.
The byrds got really unlikable towards the end.
Evil (power) always wins in ozark.
The show got a little bit repetitive in its fourth season.
We do not know What Will happen But all problems Marty had with the FBI and the Cartell is now gone.
Nothing can stop them.
Ozark (2017)
Ending... not What we wanted But What we got
Evil wins in the end.
The last words were that the byrds do not get to win.
A fitting But abrupt ending.
Byrds have now nothing to worry about. No more lying and doubleplay towards the FBI or cartell.
They have power and influence. And they are one family). And they Will stop at nothing to protect it.
Everything What they wanted.
Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
It could have been better with a story
Those who have set a high score MIT have based it on the trailer, which had me fooled too.
The editing is off. The story (spolier: Lea beeing kidnapped) is not cannon. The Evil inquisitador are not really evil they Even call reva off, calling here too aggressive.
There are no consistency. Characters switch from comedy to drama and you dont know If its bad acting, bad script Or bad directing.
The fx and visuals are What saves this show.
Hope the show Will be better. (Just seen 2 eps)
Black Summer (2019)
Zombie action
Thisone got 28 days fast running ones.
The characters are selfish and unlikeable so they soon turn into zombies.
Very nice shot Thou.lots of jumpscares.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021)
Great visual, good acting. Nice vfx But story?
Falcon is broke. Winter soldier sees a shrink.
Super serum make super soldier. Globalist flag smashers do not like borders. Cap america now gay. Evil group lead by seemingly innocent girl who get buffed up when wearing mask.
A LOT of preaching so much that the gov hires a self serving power broken.
I really do not know WHOs god och bad anymore.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
It's not a cut it's a moslty new film/movie
When i watched JL (2017) i fell asleep many times. In ZSFL i only nodded once.
I didn't like the 4:3 ratio at first. hope for a imax (4k) version.
The vfx were great music , sound (althou the same singsound is heard wheneverer WonderW does something in slowmotion .it's fine but its get noticed like "again??")
I watched the original directly after and i can say for sure that those are almost two different films.
WandaVision (2021)
Based on comic storyline
Watching this serie takes me back to reading the old marvel/dc comics. The story lines is very similar to the enchanted village stories with the REVEAL of the main villain and the TWIST where the Hero fools the antagonist, the estetics is spot on. So i think a lot of work was put in to make this right. Especially in the first episodes where they go black and white 50-s to 60-70 to modern sitcom feel. I think they nailed it.
The acting story music vfx is very suitable based on the time period (there are some few exeptions that kerps it from beeing a 10).
Well Done Disney.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Still don't get the story
I wanted to like this film. But this story do not make any sense.
What story? So Ray is xxx's distant xxx?
This seems lika a fan service. Old actors come back without any purpose than they are from the orignal films.
Fx is good but not groundbreaking. actors are not bad but they are given lines that make no to little sence.
I have tried to see this... whatever it is, twice. just to make sure i didn't missunderstood. But once was more than enough.
The Irishman (2019)
Was that 3.5 hours?
I thought some camera movement was not as smooth as it should be. And the Photo reminded me of a tv-movie. Which it was.
Thats my critique.
I was hoocked, didn't fall asleep althou i saw it in the middle of the night.
Was the union really run by gangsters?
The actors have played similar parts before. This is a typecast ensamble. A-list.
Pacino is loveable but stubborn as hoffa.
Niro is a hitman With remorse.
An interesting take on modern history.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
I saw no story no progression
There is no story just events that leads to nothing.
No memorabel scene.
Little dissapointed. Good Photo, some namedropping.
Its a Hollywood history rewrite. Its a good handcraft so its worth a view on tv. Once.
Chernobyl (2019)
You will feel sick
This miniserie draws you in the moment it starts.
The sound, visual the editing all make you feel uneasy. The hours just fly by as you witness what happens. The actors all did a great job. you will care about them.
They all speak english, which was a great choise.(it has been done before so nothing new here but the actors dont have to act an accent) this feel like saving private ryan /band of brothers level of realism. grim saturated with beautiful photo.
The only dull moment is when it all goes black and the directors name appears. cause you will want more.
Gotham: Legend of the Dark Knight: The Beginning... (2019)
summary of gotham
Gotham was always about the villans. (every one with the same insane grin) including the one that looked like the jo.. ja.. jea..? doesnt matter begins with a j and makes actors who play them win academy awards.
There were some nice performances of the comicbook profiles. the story well i dont know but the visuals were usually great. but the script sometimes feels... i do not know how to make a script, but i feel that there could be some improvements.
in this last episode we are ten years after it shows why there haven't been any batman before, because... i'm sorry.. it just don't work, batman is too powerfull.
they had to replace some younger main actors, selina kyle (gained some weight) and bruce wayne (too skinny) as they would not fit the role of their adult counterpart which are notisable leaner and more athletic.
along the way the shows runner made some weird choices (weird because some things is not believable in this universe, like penguins and riddlers, well let say relationship and gordons girlfriend(s) go bad (and then good).(if you haven't seen the show this information will make no sence because it doesn't)
could there be a batman show? yes but there have to be a different feel (this was like luise and clark version of superman) there is no shortages of stories (theres decades of comicbooks)
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
A suitable ending
Anticlimatic? yes
dull? maybe.
Do we need to see another episode? No, and thats the function to a last episode.
IT was a last goodbye and farewell to one of the Best adaptation of a fantasy series.
and here are the spoilers:
Summary: Starks won (they now rule all of the seven kingdoms) Since the iron throne is no more they inserted a elected president in place of a king (as the idea of democracy didn't fly well). So no more game of the trones.
Disapointing? No
Game of Thrones: The Bells (2019)
Its almost perfect (exept rushed script)
This last season is 6 episodes long. I dont know how to write screenplay but i feel that some explanation and reason to why charaters behave like they do.
Dany "mad Queen" burning down the city is not out of character(she wanted to kill everyone and everything before, but the advisor Held her back. They are now gone). But i dont see the point of murdering innocent. There should have been some seige episode to show her decline into madness. It felt rushed.
Arya went from assasin to little girl mode, that could have been handled different. But the panic and chaos were so well made so i dont object.
All in all everything (everything!) was perfect. The only sad thing is that it will soon be over.
Aquaman (2018)
campy but entertaining
It feels like watching a bunch of cutscenes from videogames. not saying that that is bad.
it's quests that leads to new quests.i do not know if there are plotholes, as the concept is a man who can talk to fish and with like superman powers.
the film is somewhat silly (where there shark with lasers??) but the action and visuals make up for it.
Lost in Space (2018)
Big budget worth seeing
Good acting, great visuals, music. Decent story.
If you want some bingewatching and got Netflix then go ahead. A solid serie. With science. Hence sci-fi, not sure if it is like the 60s version.
Danger
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
wait, was that... SpaceBalls?
First i must say that i don not know anything about storystructure or moviemaking at all. I onlu acount for my experience 3 weeks ago at the opening night.
It is really har to write a spoilerfree review but anyway, here it goes:
The last jedi made me confused. Was this a star wars film? It said so on the title but immideatly after the initial text had scroll of the screenit felt like something was missing. like something that was expekted to happend that didn't heppen. and this is true thruout the film. They set things up and then does not follow thru. It was like there was s lot of plot twist but before you know it a status quo happens beqause of another plot twist negates what was just happend in the first plot twist. and this happens again and again and again. You can even say that the story is in the same spot in the end as it was in the beginning.
It's like they need to have plottwists bacuse that was a major part of the succes of "empire strikes back". They even destroy set ups from the previos film (force awakens). it's like the director wanted to take the story in a completly new direction. i don't know but i can swear that some scenes were taken directly fron family guys parody or the starwas satire spaceballs.
It also feels like a diverse cast was put in just to please the asian market, why other were there samoraj bodyguards making silly stances/poses instead of doing their job. They were cool, but prevois directors didn't feel the need to prove that the bodyguards of the emeror were the elit amongst the elitsoldirers, the audience know that by just looking at their red clothing.
if "force awakens" was a copy of "a new hope" then this film almost a copy of the first halfhour of empire strikes back. They even got walkers in it(!) (but this thime salt insted of ice)
anyway i give this a 6 of 10 as it have it's funny moments, great visual and digital effects, but i did drag a bit in the middle.
Still worth watching, but i wish they had a coherent story line bofore they stated making the new films.
South Park: Holiday Special (2017)
this episode was actually funny
Southpark have never been political correct, they take a current event and then spin it so over the top it get absurd. that is their comedy, and it still works.
in this episode randy knocks down a statue of a racist mass-murderer (Columbus) and begin a journey to call everyone who ever been near named person a racist. (referending general Lees statues) he also convince the board to get rid of the holiday Columbus day. the kids does not approve losing a day off.
there is also a funny gay joke involving DNA testing and a native American. south park is back. again.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Quick paced adventure, not a dull moment but some plot devices are repeated
The same thing that happens in "a new hope" happens in "return of the Jedi" so why should that matter when it's practically the same thing that happens again in this film.It doesn't make it any more less entertaining. no! The film is good, really good. but yes we have seen it before, it's part of the franchise. The acting is excellent, the visuals are spectacular, and you can tell there are more practical effects (with puppets) rather than silly cgi- characters. But there is a difference. It's more gritty than before. When a laser blaster is fired it's more like a real rifle than a children's toy. They have more stopping power than we used to. When a planet is destroyed we get to see the effect from the eyes of the soon to be exterminated. When Disney took over they didn't go for more child friendly approach, that's for sure.
Star wars is no Sci-fi, and if you start to think about the technical explanation of the "first order"s new super weapon it would be very unpractical to aim not to mention load as it takes it energy from the nearest sun (until it's gone) . But never mind that (family guy will surely make a parody) Star wars is a fantasy, period.
We get to see all the old actors from the original films, which is nice. Han Solo mostly.
And yes there are some "who is related to whom" (spolier alert in the end it will surely turn out that they all are inbreed) which will be important. But i don't think the main objective of this film is to tell a story it is more to introduce the new actors and watch what events that occur that lead them to develop.the film is more character driven.
A nice thing is that we get to see a little glimpse of how a life as a storm-trooper might be. And oh, the empire has finally come around to hire females. nice to see that even evil can be p.c.
