This episode's mystery, though seemingly not written by Ann Cleeves, was a good one and we got to see some beautiful locations (town square, bridges, ...) that we haven't seen before.
The arrival of an extra snarky (SO annoying) Joe and the absence of Aiden and Jaq ruined it though. It was very satisfying to see Vera fight back, but Joe was/is such a pain!! His character never was a favorite.
Despite the grating orneriness, we're always grateful that the writers and producers choose class over crass when it comes to vocabulary and gruesomeness and the like. They do a great job of keeping it gritty without being grimy.

The past quizes have been a lot better. This one just didn't click, plus it was much more crude than usual which is not cool. And we are definitely not fans of the guests at the end. The actors were very good, but this world is too creepy already. Give us something joyous!!
It was great seeing some of our favorite comedians, especially Harry Hill. Josh Pugh and Roisin Conaty were an awesome team. Would love to see them together again.
The questions were all over the place and fun, and Jimmy is at his best when laughing at himself, but the crass over class ratio was too much this time round. Sad.
