Yeah, if I belonged to the "too cool" class, you know, the types who like to jump on the bandwagon and let others think for them, or who find it mandatory to mock certain types of movies, I too could find a lot to pick at in this movie. But I won't. You know why? Because it was fun, solid entertainment.

True, it wasn't entirely a fresh idea... AI boogeymen have been all the rage for a while now, and didn't we just see this kind of human/AI interaction in a Tom Hanks movie a while back? ("Finch" if you've already forgotten, as I had). But still, the interaction was interesting, fun, and moving.

I wouldn't recommend this movie to the literary crowd or the mocking hipsters, but for a good popcorn movie, it's quite enjoyable.

This could have been a fun rom-com... it came close, it had beautiful people in beautiful places with a decent amount of chemistry between them. It would have been easy to forgive the tired, Hallmark-channel plot that we've seen, literally a hundred times before, but I guess they really wanted to distance themselves from the Hallmark comparison so they added WAY too much profanity, a little bit of nudity, and a side-dish of vulgarity.

I don't have a problem setting it apart with a little bit of sexiness and a higher budget, and I'm not such a prude that a *few* vulgar jokes ruin a movie for me, but what does ruin a movie for me, especially when I'm watching it with my wife, is the continuous use of profanity. It's absolutely LAZY writing and indicative of an infantile mindset... epecially when NONE of it was justified in context at all.

If you're a writer who can't get your point across without peppering your script with a hundred "f---"s then you're just not very good at your craft... and to many of us, it shows a huge amount of disrespect for your audience and a self-declaration of your commonness... and it's a huge turnoff. Maybe this is how younger people have been taught to speak now, but no one I've ever worked/lived-with/near does.

I will likely never watch this movie again, nor will I recommend it to anyone, even though with just a little discipline on the part of the writers and director, and small amount of editing, it could have been a good, fun date movie, instead of being juvenile and offensive. But if adults being incapable of behaving like adults doesn't bother you, go for it... you'll probably enjoy it.

American Travelers was a great find! While it may not have all the pomp and pizazz of a big, high-budget production, what it does have in personality and charm. The Loskos are personable and just feel like real people who have a passion for sharing their travel experiences with others. You start to think of them as friends showing you their (very well made) travel videos.

Because on this personal touch, they feel especially inspiring... like "well, if these guys can visit these semi-exotic places and have fun doing it, we can too!" and next thing you know, you're googling travel packages online.
