The Gallows Pole (2023)
Totally disappointed
The 1st episode left me totally disappointed. I normally love this type of period drama but unfortunately not this time. I patiently sat waiting for the story line to pick up or at least start to give me an idea of what was to follow but was left sadly empty. The dialogue left me wondering what it was I was actually listening to. Was it actually scripted or were they given brief story line and given the opportunity to AdLib as they went along. I can't say I know the language of the 18th century but was so much swearing really necessary ? All in all, I was left empty and wondering if I should waste time watching anymore. I look forward to someone suggesting the second episode and onwards actually picked it up from the first.
The Badass Babes of Entertainment: Things Heard and Seen on Netflix this week and big casting insider tips! (2021)
A new life in the country.
A new life was the plan but this town couples move to the country typically isn't all they planned for. It's an old house with old house issues that soon show themselves. These issues have deeper roots than first expected.
A nicely planned thriller that should be acceptable to those who may avoid a full horror movie. I recommend a viewing.
Somewhere Between (2017)
Disappointing
What could have been an interesting story was spoilt by such terrible over acting by the lead actress. To be fair, the director needs to take some blame but the faces she makes just made me cringe.
Hidden in Plain Sight (2019)
Poor quality
Poor quality sound throughout with music above speech which is often very whispered. Typical American style acting as expected in a B rated TV movie.
Craith (2018)
Disappointing
Disappointing, but not for the drama or story line or settings.
Just found that a good drama had been spoiled by the constant switching, unnecessarily, between the English & Welsh language, along with irritating subtitles. All characters were speaking both languages so what was the point.
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)
Ended in disappointment
John Wick, the series started very well & the second film was a good follow up but I'm not sure I can say the same for this one.
It started very well & the first hour had me ready to sing it's praises but the protracted fight scenes later on took the reality away from my initial interest. It was well produced but too long for what it was offering. Left feeling disappointed.
A Star Is Born (2018)
A very long film !
Basically a platform for GaGa & Cooper. It just didn't grab me. To long & quite boring.

Keeping Faith (2017)
Dull
Only the potential of the story line gave enough to keep us watching. How this woman could ever be a solicitor let alone a mother baffles me. To much pathetic emotion and excessively dreary scenes of the main character drifting into time wasting nothingness. Thank god for the fast forward control. One wonders about the intention of the director.
Amber (2014)
Hunt for missing 14 year old
This type of drama is often looked forward to. Considering its connections to reality and the many missing children I was very interested in the story line. The first episode laid a good plot making the desire to see following episodes very high. It was a little annoying to be often taken back to previous days to add more information rather than keep things in the correct order but the story still kept our interest and attempts to work out the who and how of the plot The finale was just about as disappointing as it could be, so much so, we replayed part of the last episode to work out what we had missed. Unfortunately we had not missed anything it was just as it appeared, with no fault to cast or acting, a very disappointing ending.
