NCIS: Los Angeles: Till Death Do Us Part (2019)
Slapstick?
Darn....This was by far the worst episode of NCISLA in its 10 year running. It was like watching a slapstick movie. Sure the episode had some nice and even touching moments but as a whole it was just bad. Very bad...
Hopefully the next episode is better. Well, it can't be worse.
The Blacklist: The Ethicist (No. 91) (2019)
What's the endgame?
Thank God for James Spader. He makes the show. But what is happening to the story line? What in the world can be agent Keene's end game? Expose Reddington he's a fraud? Really, there has to be some other more logical and less backstabbing way than throwing Red in jail, facing the death penalty?
The unrealistic storyline and the poor acting of Boone does not help making this thread any more realistic.
I continue to watch for the funny dialogues Red has and the plans he comes up with.
I awarded this episode with 5 stars only...9 if Boone wasn't there. Without Spader it would have been a 1 for me.
Writers.....bring some better writing. Director....focus less on agent Keene's plan!
The Blacklist: The Capricorn Killer (No. 19) (2018)
Thank God for Spader
Just to be brief: we watch the show because of James Spader. The stories themselves are attractive and sometimes even out there. What we feel lets the show down is Megan Boone though. Not only her written character is ridiculous but her acting is actually really bad and she is not the best fit for the role. Don't know who casted her, but in the 5 years the show is running, she is one of the actors that did not grow much in performance.
So thank God for Spader and actually most of the cast and writers. It is a good enjoyable hour watching, but Boone's performance is worse than having all my teeth pulled (Marathon Man style I might add)..
Stargate SG-1 (1997)
Silly spin-off
The original movie was good; they should never been given a chance to create a series of it. Although some of the episodes are not too bad, none of them actually makes you feel that you have just watched good television. It is rather....moving wallpaper on the TV. At least you do not need to pay attention too much, since the story is slowly told. I think with the movie they basically told the whole story, but left openings for more (since there must be more star gates). At least the actors were OK, but McGuyver and his team are really dreadful and not talented actors I'm afraid.
The original movie was innovative and interesting, the series....well, I just sit it out because StarTrek Enterprise follows on TV
Russen (2000)
At last.....good Dutch television
Unfortunately Dutch television broadcasts a lot of bad programs and reruns of bad programs. Russen is innovating television about a team of police officers trying to solve crime in the Amsterdam area. The topics are various: from murders in maffia families up to crime under the soccer fans. However the series produces more than just bang - dead - police solve crime. The characters are scared and in their day to day actions these scares surface. Resulting in entertaining television with catchy dialogs between police chief Van der Scheur and officer Paul de Vos.
