Any film director who is brave enough to step out of the Hollywood film genre and ask the big questions gets my vote. This is a must-see film. It may be criticized by film experts but as a Christian and a speaker from the general public I celebrate such films. It is inspiring and brave.
The film asks the question:- 'Who is God?' What is our calling as followers of Christ? What is the relationship between the church and state particularly when the State starts to move into unethical territories? What can we learn today from the parallels of Nazi Germany, the church's role in the rise of Nazism, and the courageous Germans who spoke out against the Nazi movement?
Is it acceptable to feel angry at God? Is it acceptable to want to assassinate a leader of evil when your role is a speaker for God? Should Christians stay silent and represent peace? As Pastor Bonhoeffer says (paraphrased) "To stay silent is to speak. - To do nothing is to do something". Are such reactions appropriate in the face of evil? And how do you recognize the evil when all are in denial?
Based on a true story - Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a man of faith and deep thought. He has inspired much theological thinking across the World. If you don't know his story watch this film. It is not the full story but it will shift you from the daily grind and encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and consider the bigger issues facing us today. You do not have to be a Christian to enjoy this film. But it does question the role of faith, courage, and the influence of the church, on world politics.
Filmed in Ireland and Germany. Great sound score infused with classical music, gospel, and jazz. It felt good to watch an intelligent movie. Thank you.

For a low budget film this is excellent: Some strong writing and excellent performances especially from Jamie Bernadette and Bo Burroughs - two actors to watch out for in other up and coming movies. There is some subtle comic relief skillfully provided by Timothy Muskatell.
The filming location is in a beautiful area of California called Pine Mountain, which provides a fantastic backdrop to the story.
Music by Mario Salvucci is an added bonus for this film with excellent sound and editing.
Horror movies are not my preferred genre, but ones that have some intelligence and psychological basis in the writing make for dramatic content. The unnerving underlying theme of The Little Red Ridiing Hood, the lead character played by Drew Lindsey Mitchell, provides the horror of an innocent nursery story character thrown into a world of adult male perverseness and cruelty. To survive she has to learn to be the wolf.
Good action drama worth watching. Don't watch it alone - the wolf might be at the door:)
