Reacher (2022)
how can you tell if the casting is superb?
When you read another book with the same character, you automatically imagine the actor as the one on screen. As it was in Harry Potter, Reacher from the book will from now on, have the face of Reacher from TV.
Also - great book adaption, casting, acting. Suspenseful although too graphic at times.
On the down side - at times Reacher seems not so much as in the books. Like, wins against 5 guys but almost gets killed by a skinny dude. And being portrayed as a little "spaced out" sometimes.
Uncharted (2022)
as an uncharted fan - the score is 2. as just an action movie -6.5. rounded it up to 5.
All they had to do is take one of the games and just turn it into a great movie. Thats all. Add the banter between drake and sully, throw in some edge climbing and action, maybe a desert scene, some monsters, a pinch of legendary tales and there you go, a great uncharted movie. The games are so good and have such a great story - it should of went flawlessly. But noooo, such a weird relationship between drake and sully, 2 actors so not right for the part, no mystery almost at all ( if you played the games you know what i mean). Even "national treasure" with Nicolas cage is more like uncharted then this movie.
And BTW - Mark Wahlberg - this is the 2nd time you are a part of ruining one of the best games-turn-into-films. Max Payne rings a bell?
Is this a thing you aspire to do or is it just a coincidence?
I guess they chose this movie to be this way in order to make a trilogy or something. But a trilogy must have a great first one.
Again - all you had to do is play the games.
Project Power (2020)
3 stars is an act of kindness, i guess
Really, there are tons of reviews here
i will just add that for long periods of the movie i was on my phone
it was just that boring.
The Boys: Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker (2020)
2 reasons for the 3 star
First - i didn't like the un-needed certain political innuendo. it was simply stupid.
2nd - i know people now days have a very high threshold when it comes to blood and gore, but i think that good story just doesn't need so much of it. and the ending of this episode just said "we cant write a good cliffhanger so were just gonna explode sh$% up". this goes on all through the show till now. i find it to be just a symbol of bad writing abilities
The Lovebirds (2020)
has its moments, but...
The endless chatter between the leads is too much
its like they had 40 minutes spare time in the script in order to make it a full movie so they just went on with unnecessary and forced dialogue
Jerry Seinfeld: 23 Hours to Kill (2020)
its complicated.
On the one hand, its Seinfeld. one of the most recognized and funny comedians of the past 30 years and more.
on the other hand - this special is not so good. something is missing, there are some funny moments but overall its not that funny as his other stuff. but the really big issue here is the high pitched TM squeal he makes to deliver the punchline, that was once natural and amazingly funny - had become something forced and being used too much, which "kills" the humor in it.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Lights Out (2020)
just laughed my a** off
When Holt and terry started dancing i laughed so hard i woke my neighbors
best episode in the last 2 seasons by far :-)
Better Call Saul: Bad Choice Road (2020)
Rhea Seehorn. common, if i could give a 15 star rating to her, i would
A great episode, after a few slow ones, but Rhea Seehorn just made it wow.
The Hunt (2020)
this is actually not a review of the film, but of the statement behind it
The film is fast paced and action filled. you wont be disappointed if you like the genre.
but the best thing about it
is the mirror it puts, for maybe the first time, to the face of hypocrite, politely correct, scared of words but not from horrible deeds, almost paralyzed from false diversity america. which is spreading like a plague all over the world.
plus Betty Gilpin does a hella good job.
Gisaengchung (2019)
i usually enjoy hyped movies. i find that in most cases- if its loved by a lot of people there is gotta be a reason
However, not in this case.
the cinematography is great and the actors are good. but what is so "masterpiecey" here?
nothing. its a "nice" movie, that's it.
is it possible that Hollywood is so obsessed with diversity that content is no longer an issue?
6 Underground (2019)
this is the first time i write a review after 20 minutes of film
Did i write film? sorry, i meant to write "HDRish, over-digitized smartphone lookalike shots with editing that looks like they were made by an anxious teenager.
why TF cant you make an action flick without huge amount of gore and slime? dont you trust the script? do you really think so little of your viewers that you must do over every-thing? fu$% this, hollywood. in action and in comedy , bring back story telling and leave out all the fake blood, body parts and fart&boobs content. if people wanna watch those, trust them, they will find them.
Galaxy Quest (1999)
one of the best, funny, under-rated films ever.
Seen it 10 times and its always great. inside-humor of the geek world, way before comic-con was so popular. a film that will be enjoyable even in 20 years from now.
gave it a ten cause the rating should be way higher then 7. somthing
Instant Family (2018)
at the end of the movie i had tears rolling and a little more love in my heart
And that's it i guess.
great acting, very funny at times and emotional at others. lovable and goofy roles. just when you think that Hollywood is at its lowest point - its good to know that there are still people who make good movies.
The Predator (2018)
i thought CGI was supposed to get better with time
Well, this is not a good predator movie, no sir.
first of all, the CGI is so ridicules that it makes the one in scorpion king looks good
the story is confused
whats up with the CGI dogs?? what is that?
Olivia Munn is beautiful and was the only thing that made me watch it till the end
and no, there is no need for actors to squirt blood even if the predator just looks at them
Summer of 84 (2018)
amazing how the last 8 minutes of the film ruin the whole thing
Whats wrong with film makers nowdays?
you couldn't think some more and come up with a less crappy ending?
Eden Lake (2008)
i wish i could give a 0 rate to this,
A pointless, barbaric "movie".
if you were going for a cruel documentary, why not do that? whats the point of dragging the viewer through this stupid. evil plot?
even if they pay you, dont waste your time watching this.
