Base on the trailer, I should really enjoy this kind of star war -ish movie. All the ingredients are there, cool female lead, amazing action scenes, thousand out of nowhere slowmo. But I just can't stand how boring this movie are.
1. ACTING. If you have seen enough scifi movie and TV shows, you already know what will happen, so the only thing director can do to keep your attention from slip away is write interesting characters and creating great chemistry between main characters. I recognize almost every single characters, all of them are capable of giving actual performance. But all there interaction feel like so blatant.
2. CONTENT. Feel like director extrude a 8 episode tv series into a movie. Too much checking boxes the characters have to check, rushing from one place to another, as a consequence as a audience you don't really care any of them. You don't care the good guy get killing for helping the protagonist, you don't even care the betray in the end, because you simply don't care any of them getting killed of not. I simply don't understand why Zack urgency to rush and squeeze so much plots into Part I. He should really watch Dune part I, that's how you do a proper part I.
3 ACTION scene. It's alright for a Netflix movie.

Quite heavy topic, I know this level of corruption exist in nyc before watching the documentary and how corruption infuriates groups. But watching bob leuci fall into the pit still make me feel sorry for him. Listen to his father describe him as the person who cause his brother to become a drug addict seem really shake him up. All the confession and wire recording for the processors I don't know how much he did is the to do the right thing, or just save his own ass. "There is no heroes no villains, everybody doing what he believe is the right thing" under the pressure of blue code of silence, bob made his choice, and everybody he know paid the price.
