  • An explanation!

For those who are unaware of the story behind this short film, the 'narrator' of it is Trey Parker's college roommate, a foreign exchange student, who Trey just asked to tell his interpretation of what he knew about American history. Trey just recorded that audio and then made a very basic animation to go along with it.

It's not supposed to be a hilarious joke that was purposely concocted, but instead just an interesting/amusing piece. It's sorta along the same lines as other bits people have done from time to time having kids explain things as they understand them, but with a foreigner instead.

  • Speaking of major faults, who at NBC greenlighted this turkey?

This has to be the absolute worst made-for-TV movie I've seen in at least 10-15 years. The only enjoyable aspect of this 'PoS' is to laugh at how utterly stupid and senseless it is. It's as if the writers didn't even know or research anything on the subject matter and may have been bad soap opera writers with a few extra hours on their hands to write this. Hardly anything is even remotely believable here. There's not even much sense of a timeline -- people travelling hundreds of miles in what seems to be matters of minutes!

Even the directing is ridiculous -- looks like a fan of 24, NYPD BLUE and ARMAGEDDON who normally just does cheesy product commercials shot this wretched movie. The camera moves around so much it's hard to tell when an earthquake is actually happening or not!

It's hard to fault the actors because it's more horrific scriptwriting and directing that makes this project bad, but if I were them I would avoid putting this on their resume -- and would have asked my name be removed from the credits at least! Were Fred Ward and Beau Bridges blackmailed into this???
