You know when you watch a horror movie and they introduce a whole bunch of ditzy, dumb, fake high school kids that you know will be the first to die, this is like that. Except, rather unfortunately, no one turns up with a leather face and a chainsaw and hacks them to pieces.
This is the most pitiful dribble I've ever seen on TV and I've seen my fair share of dribble. I like the occasional trashy TV to tune out to, it's a guilty pleasure of mine but wow - I felt so guilty after one episode I would have strapped myself into an electric chair if I owned one.
I live 15 minutes from Byron Bay and I hope no one watches this stinking turd and thinks that it's a true representation of Byron. It is a beautiful place full of lovely, normal people which this show does not represent.
If you are being "influenced" by any of these plastic, false and awful humans then you need to reeaalllyyy re-evaluate yourself and your life choices.
I am ashamed this has come out of Australia. I am ashamed for the true locals of Byron Bay and I am ashamed in myself for watching it. I need to have a shower.

This film is being heralded and praised as an amazing film and some reviewers are even claiming it as the best Batman film ever and I'm rendered a little speechless... Did I watch the same movie?
This movie is a good thriller, it has shades of Se7en all over it but is it a good batman movie? My answer is no. I found the pacing to be incredibly slow and the 3 hours runtime felt like 4. Rob Pattinson is fantastic as Batman! He looks and sounds like the perfect Batman but when it comes to Bruce Wayne, they definitely dropped the ball.
What makes Batman great is the interplay between Batman & Bruce Wayne. It's essentially two entirely separate characters and Rob Pattinsons portrayal of Bruce Wayne was just Batman without his suit on. He is the same character from the start of the film to the end of the film - no change or growth.
Zoe Kravitz was fantastic as Selina Kyle/Catwoman but the chemistry between her and Batman felt a little forced and on the nose. I also didn't care for the plot line around her father. (trying to be vague to avoid spoilers).
Paul Dano is a fantastic actor - everything I've seen him in I have loved until this. His Riddler isn't the unhinged, psychotic serial killer we were expecting to get. They try so hard to make it so but he just can't carry it. The suit and mask looked gimmicky and his voice had no threat to it what so ever. People in my theater honestly laughed at a few of his "scary" moments.
Colin Farrell does well to portray the penguin but the prosthetics and fat suit are hard to look past when you know who is under it.
I couldn't stand Jeffery Wright as Jim Gordon - I'm sorry but I just don't think he is a great actor and I think he over did a lot of his scenes.
I didn't buy John Turturro as Falcone. He didn't have the slightest factor of intimidation and in my opinion he should stick to comedies.
The cinematography is one of the few saving graces - if I was basing this review on how the film looked it would be a 10. It was dark, gritty and truly reflected the grimy city of Gotham.
This movie is surprisingly being praised as an original take on The Batman, when I got the feeling it was trying way too hard to be The Dark Knight. I liked the more detective sleuth take on Batmans character but when you really break it down - it was essentially trying its best to mimick the success of The Dark Knight.
Overall it's a good movie but please lower your expectations - I feel all these overly positive reviews will create an unrealistic idea of what the film is. It's a decent thriller with some good action scenes but it totally misses the mark as a Batman film.

I happened to stumble across this while checking out the recent stories from Comic Con 12. Wow! Am I glad that I did. This 10 minute short is absolutely superb!
It's dark, gritty, dramatic and has a sense of realism to it that makes it that much more enthralling. I always loved Thomas Jane as the punisher character Frank Castle but felt that the rest of the movie wasn't done as well as it could have been.
This short has the atmospheric tension and drama that the movie was missing, as the street thugs continue to run rampant the suspense and tension continuously builds until it gets to the stage where we know what must be done. Punishment.
Also some of the shots used were just sublime, the slow motion shot of Frank Castle crossing the street while throwing the Jack Daniels bottle in the air is awesome! You forgive the poor blood effects given it was made by Thomas Jane as a fan/tribute video but by god, did they do a fantastic job!
Have to give a nod to the acting in general, Thomas Jane is the punisher and performed greatly as expected but the surprise appearance by Ron Pearlman was terrific and his acting as nothing but a store clerk was amazing and very convincing.
If you are yet to see it, do yourselves a favor and get onto YouTube to watch it! I hope that this ends up being seen by the right people and Thomas Jane gets picked up to reprise his role as the most bad-ass vigilante to grace the silver screen.
"What's the difference between justice and punishment?"
