Kai Po Che (2013)
9/10
Spellbinding, Enthralling, Amazing and So On...
22 February 2013
There were times when our master storyteller Jeetendra's nephew Abhishek Kapoor was keen to make a dynamic debut as a hero in Bollywood. Sadly that potential got beaten up badly. But what really worked wonders was rise of a dynamic director and storyteller Abhishek Kapoor through his luminous work "ROCK ON!". It was no less than a masterpiece and also one of the best movies based on friendship in ages. 'KAI PO CHE' is also another friendship movie where behind the story and script is none other than Chetan Bhagat, one of the most exceptional young writers in ages.

Though 'Hello', adapted from Bhagat's 'One Night @ The Call Center' didn't cast any magic on box-office, following one '3 Idiots', adapted from his 'Five point Someone' is the highest grossing movie on box- office till date and most favorite to numerous people. Which shows well- handled direction can work more than wonders if a superb script is given. And, Chetan Bhagat novels are so distinguished that an imposing script can be easily extracted from them. Though Hirani in 3 Idiots added more humor and his own creativity, Abhishek Kapoor follows the theme entirely of Bhagat's 'The 3 Mistakes Of My Life' and illustrates beautifully on screen as per demands of the script.

Though 'The 3 Mistakes Of My Life' is the most diverse story inked on novel among other works by Bhagat, Abhishek Kapoor skillfully adds many stereotypical dimensions in the film which makes it even more beautiful than the novel itself.

Friendship is such a wonderful genre that if you can present it beautifully that one can't stop praising it. DIL CHAHTA HAI, RANG DE BASANTI, ROCK ON! to ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA have been remarkable journeys so far. KAI PO CHE ushers itself in this wing.

But KAI PO CHE doesn't hold its boundary only around FRIENDSHIP. It's a tale of unconditional friendship, endless love among themselves as if they hold under some brotherhood, it elucidates politics and portraits the illimitable passion for sports. But the movie depicts an unforgettable tale based on three real-life events that changed the main three protagonist's lives forever - a conducive cricket match between India & Australia, Gujarat Earthquake and Godhra Massacre and Riots based on that. I'm just amazed at how a marvelous story is woven under these three real-life events and based on the story, the screenplay is so well handled and composed by Pubali Chaudhuri, Supratik Sen, Abhishek Kapoor & Chetan Bhagat himself.

Kai Po Che is the story of three friends Govind (Rajkumar Yadav), Omi (Amit Sadh) & Ishaan (Sushant Singh Rajput). Govind aspires to become a big businessman one day, so he along with his two friends, encouraging their passion, opens a cricket goods and training shop. Everything was going fine till the events that transpire against the backdrop of all that occurred in the city during that time change the lives of each of the friends in very different ways.

Director Abhishek Kapoor yet again proves that he is a pedagogue storyteller. His previous work ROCK ON! and KAI PO CHE may be harmonious is some shades but KAI PO CHE is much more emotional, has too many layers and strikes a chord among the middle class youngsters out there which is very hard to commit to. KAI PO CHE is not only just a simple story of three friends, it's a perfect depiction of the role of society on the lives of the people living in outskirts. Plus, Abhishek Kapoor's brilliant storytelling completes it.

Amit Trivedi's short and soulful music adds special charm. "MANZA" and "MEETHI BOLIYAAN" are delightful to listen to even the film could have easily worked without any song. But the songs gleam the spirit of the movie in a very melodious way. Anay Goswami's cinematography is first- rate.

The three focal portions of the movie are exquisitely carried away by the three youngsters. It's amazing that Abhishek took a risk by choosing newcomers on such a introvert script but his clarity of vision helped him make a superb decision by choosing them.

Sushant Singh Rajput's amazing potential, timing, acting skills and screen presence astonishes me completely. He already has YRF and Raju Hirani project in his pockets and no wonder why. Here rises an upcoming hugely successful star, that can be clearly seen. Amit Sadh enacts his part perfect. He can now come on focus of many talent seekers. Rajkumar Yadav enacts deliberately just like he did in his previous works. His role in every movie has different shades but this talented actor carries out skillfully every time.

Rest of the cast do their jobs perfectly. Amrita Puri, the lone leading lady character in the movie aloof carries out her role amazingly. Manav Kaul & Asif Basra are excellent. Digvijay Deshmukh aka Ali is magnificent. Wish to see him in future more frequently.

There can be no end of praising KAI PO CHE. Throughout this whole review, I failed to point out a single blemish in this fine piece of work. Every shot, every character, every moment in this movie is so flawless that one can't help being amazed at times. Films like KAI PO CHE are as hard to make as hard not be flabbergasted at. It's an incandescent saga of friendship that transcends the boundaries of penchant.

Best Movie Of This Year So far. Strictly Recommended.

Barfi! (2012)
8/10
Love... Unspoken, Unlistened... Just Felt...
14 September 2012
Warning: Spoilers
His parents named him Murphy, but he always pronounced his name Barfi! (Ranbir Kapoor) and everyone went with it. He was the talk of the town. Even though neither he could speak nor listen. His bitter-sweet relationship two beautiful ladies, Shruti (Ileana D' Cruz) and Jhilmil Chatterjee (Priyanka Chopra) completely changes his life through a set of undesirable events. Shortly, BARFI! is a tale of selfless love that teaches about appreciating life no matter how unpredictable it may be.

Still he missed abolishing some flaws in the script which are not much destructive but it feels sad to think of their existence. Barfi's sudden falling for Jhilmil seemed a bit odd, Shruti being so quickly convinced by her mother's (Rupa Ganguly) clichéd reasoning, too much despair of Barfi after Jhilmil's leaving even though he himself was the main reason for it and many other facts which were a bit hard to digest. But at the end of the day, the flaws can be ignored for the sake of too many bright sides and the presence of feel-good factors in high quantity in the whole.

I would like to specially mention the tremendous editing by Akiv Ali. This one's his best work till date as an editor. The back-and-forth narrative is the best thing in the whole movie (Besides Ranbir's act) that catches eye. Ravi Varman's magnificent cinematography is the perfect icing on it.

Barfi! is one of the most astonishing works by Pritam as a soundtrack composer. Not a single track is hardly bad and the songs fit perfectly in many situations. "Phir Le Aaya Dil (Reprise)", "Main Kya Karoon" are the bests of all. Also an awesome background score is composed and perfectly placed in the movie by Pritam. The background scores sounded like they were adopted from some Chaplin masterpieces but still they worked exceptionally perfect.

Now comes the best part to be criticized and which I was waiting very eagerly for doing is discussing Ranbir's contribution to Barfi! Previously we have seen a movie called Rockstar which was no doubt good but the fact which is undeniable that Ranbir's more-than-brilliant performance along with Rahman's wondrous compositions saved that movie from being an out-and-out disaster. As I said earlier, the character of Barfi! was the most tough and strong role in the movie but the way Ranbir enacted it, it seemed like a piece of cake to him. Ranbir is blessed with immense talent and versatility and Barfi! is just another example of it. I'm strongly sure that no one at this moment could've carried out this role so brilliantly and flawlessly. Ranbir's expression, communication methods as a deaf and mute boy, body language, charm, simplicity - everything worked in favor for him and he looked absolutely perfect in every shade of his character. I can assure that just like last year, Ranbir will yet again snatch the 'Best Actor' awards from not only critics section but also mainstream section. Everyone with a tough and versatile script desires Ranbir Kapoor nowadays and I can clearly see why. He is the best! Priyanka Chopra is also a great example of versatility. Fashion's Meghna, Aitraaz's Sonia, 7 Khoon Maaf's Susaana - all of them were very challenging and she carried out with excellence in every bit of them. But Jhilmil Chatterjee was the most challenging role for her till date which she carried out excellently. Even this role was previously experimented in My Name Is Khan, but Jhilmil somehow looked much convincing than Rizwan. She went to the core of her role and came out with the same sensitivity. Her raucous voice added a special feature to her role while her genius expressions and body language were doing perfectly fine. To me, this was her best performance in a motion picture till date.

I can't call up since when I had seen such a wonderful debut of a heroine. Ileana D'Cruz does a outstandingly mesmerizing job as a first-timer in Hindi movies. Her character had simplicity over the top and too many shades which she was very capable to carry out brilliantly. Her performance when she was shown in her old age was magnificent. Her expressions at that time seemed like she was a very conversant actor and not a débutante. It was hard to believe that this was her movie, performance-wise. This girl can work wonders if she is given right scripts like these.

Saurabh Shukla was outstanding. More or less, he was also a very close character to Barfi. Aakash Khurana as Barfi's dad was magnificent. Aashish Vidyarthi was tremendous. Rupa Ganguly was also damn good. Jishu Sengupta rocked in such a short role. Haradhon Bandopadhyay did tremendous as he always does.

Finally, Films like Barfi! make arrival raising humongous expectations in people's heart and efficiently doesn't let down even a single bit. It's no doubt magical but some flaws dug very deep creates a harmful impression at times. Still, please go and watch it. Good movies like Barfi! appear very often and missing them is utter foolishness.

Ek Tha Tiger (2012)
5/10
Salman - Jungle Ka Sher, Movie - Cicrus Ka Sher
16 August 2012
Warning: Spoilers
There might still be a long queue outside every single screen and multiplex by the time I'm writing this review. Post WANTED, DABANGG, READY & BODYGUARD, this one's another Salman Khan Saga that is yet another full-of-masala, without any substance big-budget risk by producers, but has Salman Khan ever let down them? Like any other Salman bhai flick money will come back to them double or triple. Now let's come to the points why Ek Tha Tiger works wonders only on financial angle and falls flat on other angles.

Dud No. 1 : Failed Concept Applied Once Again In The Same Year -

Remember an awesome (sarcastically) movie that hit floors on march this year? Yes, Agent Vinod it is. Agent Vinod still had some ISI & RAW based moments and stylishly represented missions, chases and moments which were dull but somehow realistic. 'Ek Tha Tiger' has just the name RAW in which Avinash Rathore aka TIGER (Salman Khan) worked and ISI in which Zoya (Katrina Kaif) worked. The trailer bragged too much about ISI & RAW and their rivalry but neither did we saw any sophisticated rivalry (even though Salman beat up some ISI agents) nor any mission which was convincing enough. But when Salman Khan was beating up ISI agents and local goons, who the hell cares about mission? It's ceetee, clap and shouting time.

Dud no. 2 : Anti-Pakistan Theme - Racism

There was a time when great movies like GADAR, BORDER, MISSION KASHMIR, ZAMEEN were made based upon this theme. Even it was racist but the movies were substantially gracious and brilliantly scripted and dialogued. Ek Tha Tiger from the beginning is continuously challenging activities by Pakistan, ISI, Muslim Race etc etc and etc. But when Salman Khan says "Sir, Hum Kyun Ladh Rahe Hain Humein Khud Bhi Nahi Pata", does it justify everything? What happened to this thought before meeting Zoya and falling in love with her? Still, the tame dialogue drew some depth in Salman Khan Lover's minds and thus the movie is based upon a brilliant subject - 'Why Hindu & Musilms should unite'.

Dud No. 3 : Immature Script Including Feeble Moments

There's nothing much in the movie except the action scenes. The action scene in the introduction shot of Tiger heated the blood but boredom made its appearance just then and dragged the tale till interval. The second part was starting to be quite fun and entertaining with larger-than-life action and chase sequences by both Tiger and Zoya but the pithless climax messed up everything. But still the action sequences and the song 'Laapata' work big time.

Dud No. 4 : Katrina Kaif and her 'Hindi'

While Salman Khan tried his best to give a 'worth-it' performance, it was Katrina Kaif who was ruining the fun. Even her looks and physique were tempting but when it comes to performance, she starts failing. Adding to that, her faulty 'Hindi' drags more attention and adds another point in criticizing negative about her.

Dud No. 5 : Terrible Performances by Rest of The Tiny Crew

When It's a Salman Khan movie, rest of the crew doesn't matter at all. But when co-actors like Ranvir Shorey, Girish Karned and Roshan Seth give 'booooooooo' performances, what remains in the film something good except Salman Khan?

Dud No.6 : Mediocre Soundtrack

Another special ingredient other than story, script and dialogues is soundtrack of the movie which can save a movie from evil remarks. But without 'Mashallah' & 'Laapata', I don't see any other track which worked for the movie.

Dud No. 7 : Kabir Khan's visionary decline

Without even having a proper look at the subject, Kabir Khan just went with 'masala' and 'mardhaar'. I loved both 'Kabul Express' and 'New York' for one's out-of-the-box concept and the other's awesome take on life of the convict falsely accuse of 9/11. Both of the movies starred such people who have no relation to acting. But this time there was Salman Khan with him. What the hell happened? Maybe relying on 'Salman Khan Movies Theorem', he took this move and I'm sure he will fetch good money to the financiers.

Finally, Ek Tha Tiger is nothing without Salman Khan. It has no hugely entertaining moments, nothing such as a good story, slow-paced and draggy clichéd script and a mediocre soundtrack. Only the high-octane action scenes, Salman & Katrina's catchy chemistry and the man himself - SALMAN Khan saves the day. Watch only if you're a Salman Khan Fan otherwise wait for DVD or TV telecast and if you don't want to watch it at all then don't. Everything in this movie except Salman Khan, disappoints badly.

Rowdy Rathore (2012)
8/10
Will Prove Itself as 'Bada Khiladi' in Box-Office
31 May 2012
Shiva (Akshay Kumar) is a small-time con man who falls in love with Priya (Sonakshi Sinha). Into this picture perfect world enters six-year- old Neha, who inexplicably believes Shiva to be her dad. And if this wasn't bad enough, Shiva also becomes the object of a series of life threatening attacks by a gang of deadly criminals who seem to know something he doesn't. While trying desperately to save his life and love, Shiva stumbles upon a deadly secret. A secret that will take him to a small town in Bihar; a town terrorized by a ruthless person (Nassar).

Prabhudeva does a fine job here and possibly better than WANTED in the field of creativity. WANTED was a dark and grimy present time action movie. But Rowdy Rathore has vivid colorful executions, the perfect 90's feel in every sense and ruthless action sequences as well as the dramatic parts.

Cinematography by Santosh Thundiyil leaves a mark. Costumes are not a vital part but Niharika Khan & Prarthana Chadha's sleek costume designing comes to notice through many pretty outfits of Sonakshi Sinha. Even though Akshay Kumar's clothes don't leave a mark, but who can forget the 'Rangeela Coat's of Colorful Pants wore by Akshay Kumar in 'Chinta Ta'. Shiraz Ahmed does a noble work by doing some alteration in the main story. Sanjay Sankla's editing is top notch. Choreography is a damn good advantage of the movie as Bosco Martis, Saroj Khan and none other than Prabhudeva have left their mark here. That's why the songs are a delight to watch. Background scores by Sandeep Chowta impress.

Dialogues by Shiraz Ahmed is perfect. After SINGHAM, such daring one- liners took place again in Bollywood. "Ilaaka Tera Dhamaka Mera", "Apun ka Phatka 440 ka Jhatka" and so on.

Sajid-Wajid's music yet again leaves great mark after Housefull 2. The perfect combination of South and west can be easily witnessed in their music. Tracks like "Chinta Ta Chita Chita", "Dhadang Dhang", "Chammak Challo" and "Aa Re Pritam Pyaare" work wonders for the movie and saves the energetic feel in the movie.

And one another extraordinary element of the movie is action directed by Anal Arasu. The films has three main action sequences. In the interval by Vikram Rathore, In the flashback portion by Vikram Rathore and in the climax by Shiva. The action scenes are sure to leave mark on your brains and hearts. The moves and techniques are awesome and makes incredible similarity with Southern hard-hitting action movies.

Get ready to see Akshay Kumar in his top form. Besides his excellent comic timing, his ability as a prime-time entertainer resurrects through Rowdy Rathore. Akshay plays a double role in the movie. Shiva, a thief and Vikram Rathore, a tough no-nonsense cop. While Shiva is a entertaining role, Vikram is a serious, violent and angry cop which reminds me of Akshay Kumar in "Main Khiladi Tu Anadi", "Sangharsh" etc. The monumental act by Akshay Kumar takes the movie to new heights.

Sonakshi plays a hot and sweet chick, different from her role in Dabangg. But this time also she handles her role very skillfully and her Indian traditional image yet again suits her.

Paresh Ganatra as Shiva's buddy is funny and witty. Nassar as the antagonist manages to handle his part very strategically. The actor who plays Nassar's brother does well even his role is very succinct. Others like Mushtaq Khan, Yashpal Sharma, Gurdeep & Darshan Jariwala do their parts well. The child artist playing Vikram Rathore's daughter is very sweet. Kareena Kapoor, Prabhudeva's appearance shine the moments.

On the whole, Rowdy Rathore is not star-studded but Akshay Kumar proves that he alone is enough to handle proficiently. Rowdy Rathore is gratification for the masses but will be hugely disappointing for those who are not compatible with immature entertainment. If you are a Akshay Kumar fan, please go watch it. If you love masala movies, keep this one in your must-watch list. Others who seek matured concept can easily skip this one. On the whole, Rowdy Rathore, just like its name is rumbustious and wanton and hits hard on where it's supposed to, entertainment.

The Avengers (I) (2012)
9/10
'We're not a team. We're a time-bomb!'
28 April 2012
The Avengers gathered huge expectations since it was officially announced in 2010. When separately the marvel comic characters can rock in the movies, then what massive consequences can happen when they are assembled altogether. From Tony Stark to Clint Barton, The Avengers group is subversive and totally heroic in their move. A Lot of money ($220,000,000) is involved here as there are spectacular special effects and eye-popping destructive acts. Till now, there is a huge chaos created allover revolving the release of the movie, even in India. A huge profit is estimated for the movie. Anyway, Let's see how this movie works.

Nick Fury is the director of S.H.I.E.L.D, an international peace keeping agency. The Tesseract is an unknown source of huge sustainable energy that can come to much need of planet earth. But when Loki (Thor's Brother) steals The Tesseract and tries to demolish the earth as directed from Asgard, Nick Fury assembles The Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Captain America and Hawkeye to eliminate the extra-terrestrial attack on earth and save humanity. Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury does a perfect job. Even not being a superhero, his special role as a colonel in every marvel hero movie is commendable.

Tony Stark aka Iron Man is said to be the salient character of Avengers even Captain America is the first one of them. Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark is remarkable, humorous, smart, sleek and heroic and most of all perfect from every nook and corner. Without Iron man's technological help and cleverness, The Avengers would have to face much problem.

Steve Rogers aka Captain America, the first Avenger does here a nice work indeed. To him, saving America's glory and assets is everything and so he does. Chris Evans as Captain America was a Joy to watch and he was the only hero that can stand beside Iron Man shoulder-to-shoulder.

Dr. Bruce Banner aka The Hulk, is the strongest and mightiest and toughest pillar of the Avengers. Even Edward Norton was the leading hero of "THE INCREDIBLE HULK", Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk here also gives much justice and creates a great atmosphere of strength and destruction.

Chris Hemsworth as Thor (Which we have seen previously in the movie named on him) was indescribable. He is said to be the God Of Thunder from Asgard and here with his mighty hammer, he yet again creates a great appearance and makes a strong impact in defeating enemies. Nothing is greater than Myst and Gods, in that case.

Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow played by Scarlett Johansson was effective as the only female superhero character in the midst of powerful masculine superheroes.

Clint Barton aka Hawkeye was fine and he seemed to be the weakest among the Avengers but still he was effective in his negative pre-climax and heroic role in the climax.

Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Thor's brother seeks revenge on his brother and tries to rule the world as the only God. So, the character with so much vengeance and thirst and also battling the Avengers all alone had to be very important for the movie and so it was.

Among all others, the most important one was Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson and he did a splendid even 'The Avengers' movie puts an end to his character forever. Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, Stellan Skarsgård, Gwyneth Paltrow & more - everyone carried out their roles splendidly.

It was very lucky for me to watch the movie in 3D as the remarkable special effects by Chad Ball, Roland Blancaflor, David Boucher & more and Visual effects by Visual Effects by Shaun Friedberg 'Pyrokinesis', David Abbott, Nada Abdou & more was the most important substance of the movie. Massive Destruction, Aliens, Super natural powers - everything was excellently perfect. Can't be better than this. Also, I would specially recall the use of humor in the movie that made people laugh at times. Also, the dialogues of the movie are excellent. Some awesome ones like - Steve Rogers: Stark, we need a plan of attack! Tony Stark: I have a plan : attack! & Thor: He's my brother Natasha Romanoff: He killed 80 people in 2 days Thor: He's adopted.

Even, this is the second directorial of the director Joss Whedon, he does a commendable job and I doubt if anyone could have done it better. Joss pens down the story with Zak Penn with the help of the writing by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby (The original comic book writers) and gives birth to a very efficient story that perfectly got along with the movie.

Finally, when I saw in the final scene where Tony Stark & Pepper Potts were redesigning devastated Stark Tower and only the 'A' stood among the five letters, I was fully assured that the movie did not intend to glorify any one Marvel Hero but glorified their team work as AVENGERS. And if as the end of the movie hinted is true then get ready for THE AVENGERS 2 because Nick Fury said "We Need Them And They Know That Very Well".

'The Avengers' is one helluva ride of destruction, fighting evil & heroism. Kids will love it and so will the elders. Make some time, take your family, put on your 3D glasses, pop some corns in your mouth and have a epidemical time. If you miss this one, consider it as a huge loss.

Hate Story (2012)
3/10
I Hate Old Storys!!!!
20 April 2012
The first promo of this movie stole tranquility of many erotic movie lovers. Paoli Dam, the bad girl in Bengali movies makes her debut in Bollywood and here also she isn't such a good girl. There's nothing such new in vendetta theme. A Girl tries to take revenge on someone who has ruined her life - many told and untold stories have been narrated in the same way. But still, depending on the hotness and sex-quotient of the movie, HATE STORY relied on a very risky position of expectations as the story and narrating of the movie didn't seem much impressing.

There was time when vendetta was served like hot cake in movies. 1970's to 1980's were the most important times. Even movies like AGNEEPATH (Old & New), SHOLAY, V FOR VENDETTA, 1920, KAHAANI and many more are based on the same genre - REVENGE. Vikram Bhatt pens down an erotic tale of vengeance in such a modern time. But we know that his writing has its own individuality and so movies like RAAZ, 1920, KASOOR, RED are a must watch. But in writing HATE STORY, sensitivities, amount of suspense, thrills lacked attendance from him and that can be clearly seen in the movie.

The story revolves around Kaavya (Paoli Dam) and her transformation from a simple middle class journalist to a sex worker to seek revenge. Kaavya, who doesn't have anything to lose anymore, uses her sexuality as a lethal weapon to rip Siddharth (Gulshan Devaiah) apart by using everyone connected to him one way or another. Thus begins the journey of hatred and brutal vengeance.

This affects everyone around Kaavya, including her family and her best friend Vicky (Nikhil Dwivedi), who secretly loves her.

Such a simple in the shape of brutal story doesn't affect the story but misses chance to glorify the story or be an advantageous element fir a movie. Some things like how Kaavya first sexually makes her movie for the CEO (Joy Sengupta) & the politician (Mohan Kapoor) and then uses them to light the fire for Siddharth. Bhairavi Goswami helped Kaavya to become a sex-worker. Such characters do give the story some meaning but in the end, nothing does matter.

Vikram Bhatt wrote with some sincerity but as I said before, he mainly concentrated on the sensuality part rather than the grip of the story. The script is also by him which is not bad but lacks interest in many places. Dialogues by Rohit Malhotra lack freshness. Cinematography by Attar Singh Saini is strictly OK. Satyajeet Gazmer's editing is average. Abbas Ali Moghul's action direction works in certain parts. Amar Mohile's background music fits the situations perfectly. The soundtrack of the movie is strictly alright and shows no hope but songs like RAAT and DIL KAANCH SA show hope for situations. Giving such good songs in MURDER 2, it was a total disappointment from Harshit Saxena.

Paoli Dam, after working in various Bengali films, works like very subordinate in HATE STORY. As the leading lady and the most important character of the movie, it was a great responsibility to carry out the role perfectly. But she impresses by keeping the anxiety escalating with her tough and titular act. Gulshan Devaiya was impressing in his strong and effective negative role. As the films is featured on the conflict between Paoli & Gulshan, they made wonderful efforts to make this vengeance story pass with great enthusiasm. As seen on, Dumb MAARO Dumb, THE GIRL WITH THE YELLOW BOOTS and SHAITAN, Gulshan Devaiah always works in the negative and dark roles. Nikhil Dwivedi, the only character who is filled with positive potential in the movie does a very good job. His immense support and friendship helped Kaavya very much till the end of the movie. Mohan Kapoor was good. Joy Sengupta was fine. Iravati, Saurabh Dubey, Gopal and Bhairavi Goswami were very small and negligible.

On the whole, HATE STORY relies on a paper thin plot & survives only for impressing performances by the two leading actors Paoli Dam & Gulshan Devaiah. There's simply no hope for this movie to make a good move but there's something that can save this movie is its bold, inflammatory & provocative scenes that can be liked by some people (No Offence). Can be easily avoided.

Vicky Donor (2012)
7/10
Donates Genuineness in Peculiar Small Films
19 April 2012
Blood Donation is an old theme nowadays. Why not sperm? Fertilization has been shown previously in movies like I AM, The Tree Of Life and more. But Vicky Donor bring an aspect of Comedy involving fertilization in the movie. That's a different and peculiar attempt introduced in Bollywood movie. A fresh theme with fresh stars featured in a feature film - Vicky Donor.

John Abraham, The new boy in Producer Town does an earnest effort here and deals with a fresh theme based on a totally out-of-the-box concept. John after acting on 'masala maardhaar' movies now starts investing money on offbeat movies - that's strange but is smart also as the promos of Vicky Donor has a youth appeal also keeping beside the sperm oriented theme. Some in the town thinks Vicky Donor is somehow sex-oriented and disgusting in theme as it deals with such vulgar things like sperm donation and fertilization. Anyhow still Vicky Donor makes its individual impact in Bollywood and its pretty good.

In an environment where the job pressures are high and couples lead an erratic and unhealthy lifestyle, Dr. Baldev Chaddha (Annu Kapoor), a well-qualified fertility expert, runs a fertility clinic and a sperm bank in Daryaganj, New Delhi. Unfortunately, he has more failed cases to his credit than successes. A healthy, high-performing donor is the need of the hour.

Vicky Arora (Ayushymann Khurrana), a young, good looking Punjabi guy from Lajpat Nagar, is the only son and of no financial support to his mother Dolly (Dolly Ahluwalia), a widow, who runs a small beauty parlor from home. As luck would have it, a small brawl in the colony brings Dr. Chaddha and Vicky face to face, where Chaddha concludes that Vicky could be that donor he has been looking for. From here on, Dr. Chaddha's days and nights are spent in convincing Vicky to become a donor till he finally gives in.

Vicky finds his love interest in Ashima Roy (Yami Gautam), a pretty Bengali girl, who works in a bank. But soon their hunky dory world comes crashing down because of Vicky's past as a donor.

Vicky Donor is a special mixture of Youth, Romance, Sperm Donation type offbeat concept and Comedy. So, compilation like this is hard to find in recent movies and there's where VD wins the race for its individuality. Even being a small budget film, VD gives you the feel of the same amount of humor, romance and consciousness about the concept used in a big budget film. It enlightens, then entertains and then wins.

Shoojit Sircar, after giving such a serious movie like YAHAAN (2005), it was very unlike to see a comic movie from him after 7 years. Anyway he deals very well with Vicky Donor and gives justice to the concept. Story, Dialogue and Script by Juhi Chaturvedi was very neat, sophisticated and came to a very good conclusion as the two parts of the movie was capably balance. Cinematography was not such a big deal for the movie but still good work done by Kamaljeet Negi. Editing by Shekhar Prajapati was good. The soundtrack of the movie is mediocre but still tracks like PANI DA RANG (sung, written and composed by the lead actor of the movie Ayushmann Khurrana), MAR JAIYAAN & RUM WHISKY work perfectly. These three songs are worth listen for many times. Background scores also by the music director duo Abhishek-Akshay duo are perfect for the movie.

Shoojit Sircar, I must say has chosen the actors for the movie very aptly. The very famous face from the Television Ayushmann Khurrana is good-looking, humorous and a very good performer. The naturalism in his expression and act was fascinating and profound. Another fresh face from Television Yami Gautam was strikingly beautiful, sensible and a good performer. Her presence and charm in various sequences adds value to them. Annu Kapoor aka Dr. Chadda is an anomaly. His humorous acts, sensitive acting adds the movie a new aspect.

Dolly Ahluwalia (Vicky's Mom) was very well as well as Kamlesh Gill (Vicky's grand-mom). Jayanta Das (Ashima's father) was fine. John Abraham makes a stunning impact on viewers by appearing in the song "RUM & WHISKY".

Finally, Vicky Donor is just like sperms, tiny but very effective and gives birth to a new idea in entertainment. With genuineness in script and rigorous performances by leading actors, Vicky Donor is successful in making a strong ascendancy in small budget films. Try not to miss this one.

'Impossible' to Miss
17 December 2011
At first, let me clarify that I'm a huge fan of Tom Cruise, so if anyone thinks that I've overrated then guilty as charged. If I come to expectations then it will be a total loss of words cause since the news has spread that MISSION IMPOSSIBLE will have it's 4th part, the whole world waited for its teaser or trailer and when it released the movie was hugely expected by many corners of world.

If any of my review readers have watched M: I 4, then they have surely realized that this one's the best Action Thriller of recent times. Mission Impossible Legacy has gone through many experts. Brian De Palma started this high-tech thriller series. John Woo modified the 1st part and instead of using much technology, he concentrated on the thrill part & story. Mission: Impossible III is called as the best of the trilogy as it was triple intense, triple advanced and triple mayhem.

Now, come to Mission : Impossible 4 - Ghost Protocol. The term "Ghost Protocol" is used brilliantly and "why" will be answered the moment you watch the movie. It's a challenge that this one's so intense that the viewer's mind can't be distracted while watching the movie. And as the story unfolds, we see new situations, new thrills and action sequences. The sequences are so awesome this time that one can't forget them. Some are -

1. The collision of KREMLIN, Russia 2. Ethan's sky-scraping scene 3. The chase in sandstorm 4. The Climax

The story in short is The IMF is shut down when it's implicated in the bombing of the Kremlin and suspects reveal that Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his team Jane ( Paula Patton) and Benji (Simon Pegg) are behind this. To save their organization's name Ethan, Jane, Benji and Brandt (Jeremy Renner) setup on a mission to find the mastermind behind this who is Hendricks (Michael Nyqvist). No Plan. No Backup. No Choice.

Brad Bird is one of the finest directors of this time but his experiments were only animated (Though hugely successful). THE IRON GIANT, RATATOUILLE & THE INCREDIBLES - three of them are hugely appreciated all over. His debut as a real-life movie that also the saga of Mission Impossible was immensely tough for anyone. But we can see that he is outstandingly talented as a director and he can handle any kind of movie and very well he does. This Oscar-winner animator has given us the best of him this time. Michael Giacchino, The Oscar-winner yet again gives some nice scores with a great use of M:I theme. Robert Elswit, another Oscar-winner in the crew, the cinematographer was excellent in shooting Russia, Dubai & India and every scene was fantastically shot. His work should be listed as one of the best contributions to the movie. Special Effects by Hamish Bennett, James Bomalick etc. are awesome, just awesome.

Tom Cruise is a blockbuster powerhouse himself. His smartness, his acting, his heroism, his intelligence and ability to do deadly stunts ---- from 'A' to 'Z', it's a Tom Cruise flick. At the last scene when we see Ethan's wife Julia (Michelle Monaghan) staring at him & Ethan also doing the same, the moment should be called the most beautiful moment in M:I history. From Action to expression, Intelligence to charm - Tom Cruise proves that no one in Hollywood could have done ETHAN HUNT better than him.

Paula Patton as Jane was very down to her role. She did awesome as a IMF agent irrespective of being a woman. Simon Pegg was the real entertainer. Special credits to Jeremy Renner as Brandt. A commendable job by him raised the beauty of the movie. Michael Nyqvist as Hendricks was seen sometimes but that was also a joy to watch. Anil Kapoor, the 'tharki' Indian was a funny fare. Josh Holloway in an extra short role of Agent Hanaway was fine.

Finally, 'Mission Impossible 4 - Ghost protocol' to me is one of the many proofs of why I love Tom Cruise so much? Not only is he the most beautiful hunk but also he is gifted with every quality that a hero requires. Powerful performances by lead actors and eye-popping visual effects make M:I 4 a must watch this season. It can heat your blood this winter if you're a die hard action-movie fan. Most of all, it's a must must must watch for Tum Cruise fans.

As a conclusion Mission: Impossible 4 - Ghost protocol is a super action flick with eye-popping special effects and a terrific storyline which the movie abides by start to end. There was not a single scope of a dull moment and viewers didn't have a single second to divert their minds elsewhere. One of my friends said that "Bollywood is advancing its standard to Hollywood in technique used in movies and RA. One proves it". He got a reply from me "That's a very long way ahead, lad"(and M:I 4 proves it).

From "Rom-Con" To "Rom-Com"
9 December 2011
Expectations - If you have watched "Band Baaja Baaraat" then you can't even think to miss Ladies V/S. Ricky Bahl. Ranveer-Anushka chemistry, Ranveer's charm and killer looks, Anushka's smart and stylish acting skills, superb music by Salim-Sulaiman and Maneesh Sharma's smart and entertaining direction skills which comes in a "Yash Raj Films" brand-mark - everything was back again in this movie. The stylish promos, Ranveer-Anushka's "Thug Le" music video & that promising comeback feel - everything raised people's expectations much much higher. Frankly, I was extremely keen for LVRB as I liked BBB very very very much. That movie delivered much freshness in Rom-Coms released in Bollywood.

LVRB is a smart-tale from start to end which can be called "Classy" in a word. But still an inspiration from a very famous movie "John Tucker Must Die (2006)". But some usual changes do take place as the story of this movie is written by Aditya Chopra. So, the romantic and emotional parts are much tighter here.

As the story unfolds from start to last, Dimple (Parineeti Chopra) falls for a gym-trainer Sunny Singh who cons his dad and flees away that instant. Next we see Raina (Dipannita Sharma), a hard-working, successful corporate woman who is conned by Deven Shah. Then both of them come to know that Saira (Aditi Sharma), a simple, hard working widow was also conned by Iqbal Khan. They figure out that Sunny, Deven & Iqbal are the same person. Who Is He? Meet Ricky Bahl (Ranveer Singh) - a lady-charmer, a perfect conman whose only motive is nothing but money.

Raina, Dimple & Saira plans to track down Ricky through Ishika Desai (Anushka Shrma), a young and ambitious Goa by conning Ricky and get their money back. The Ultimate Showdown begins is Goa....

Director Maneesh Sharma handles some moments perfectly like The Dimple story, Ranveer's entry and much more. A Smart script is noticed in the whole movie. But he disappoints much as one expected another BBB from him. But many qualities that BBB had lacks entirely in the movie. Entertainment quotient, 'Jhallipan' in lead actors, Ranveer was charming but not the BITTOO SHARMA that justified him, Anushka also looked much sour. Music By Salim-Sulaiman is as usual top notch. Tracks like "AADAT SE MAJBOOR" & "JAZBA" works perfect, "FATAL ATTRACTION" was awesome & "THUG LE" was the show stealer for its mind-boggling choreography by Vaibhavi Merchant. Aseem Mishra's cinematography was fine as GOA was mostly captured in the movie. Habib Faisal's dialogs lacked confidence and spice.

We have seen Ranveer Singh in on of the most liked characters ever that was BITTO SHARMA. Ranveer's role is LVRB was totally opposite of it. Special Charm, Smartness & classy attitudes were the main ingredients of this role which Ranveer gave much justice to. Ranveer can now be easily called as one of the finest heroes appeared at recent times. He is undoubtedly the Show-stealer in all respects. Anushka Shrama (better known as 'Tani Partner' or 'Shruti Kakkar') evolves even more as an leading lady through this movie. Her acting was convincing, confident, ambitious and lacked dullness. The pair of Ranveer-Anushka is the winner of this movie.

We see a new talent coming up through this movie which is Parineeti Chopra (Priyanka Chopra's Cousin). Her role was total "Jhalli" and she carried it out perfectly. Bravo! Dipannita Sharma was perfect as a no-nonsense corporate woman. Aditi Sharma was fine but natural. Shireesh Sharma, father of Dimple in the movie was fine.

Finally, Ladies Vs. Ricky Bahl doesn't disappoint. What disappoints is Maneesh Sharma's promising comeback. Band Baaja Baaraat was one of the best movies of last year while LVRB is a decent fare. Ranveer and Anushka's deadly chemistry and performances by lead actors try a lot to abolish the flaws of the movie but it failed to convince the audiences who came to watch another fun-flick like Band Baaja Baaraat. The conning episodes, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, both of them together, the romantic portions and climax works for a big time, but still the movie lacked 'unforgettable' moments and freshness. Watch If You've Nothing Better To Do!

Focuses On The 'Dirt' In Our Minds
2 December 2011
Expectations for this movie were totally 'Tharki'. The nation was set on fire since the trailer was launched. Vidya Balan is the hot topic in every corner for her flaunts and oomph. Emraan's something new avatar was also noticed. Shortly, people who were keen to see 'The Dirty Picture' were either waiting to see what Vidya had still to show or some very delicate people were impressed by the centralized theme of the movie.

Silk Smitha was a heartthrob of her time, not for her acting but her skin-show and sex-appeal. Describing her life is nothing so important as she as totally washed out from many minds. But I would praise Director Milan Luthria's 'one step forward' thinking and make such a mind-blowing movie on Silk. I mean, Silk would have got amazed if she could watch the movie and realize how interesting her life was to many people.

Ekta Kapoor is a producer of some different movies like "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai", "Love Sex Aur Dhoka", "Ragini MMS". 'The Dirty Picture' is a 'hatke' and 'sexy' attempt to bring a rage in Indian movies.

Reshma (Vidya Balan), a girl who had big dreams in her mind sets off in a journey that will lead her to vulgarity, betrayal and impure fame. Her career stars with being 'Silk' and ends when the 'Reshma' in her rises. Suryakant (Naseeruddin Shah), Suryakant (Tusshar Kapoor), two siblings were the two obstacles in her 'want to be' good life. Ibrahim (Emraan), who looked upon Silk as a vulgar, dramatic actress and personal enemy, finally finds that what she is doing is not intentional. Real Life V/S. Movie - the difference is shown in this film and by whom it's shown is late Silk Smitha.

No Two penny comments on performance by Vidya Balan. She has shown everything where what should be - 'Body' and 'Herself as a perfect performer'. I can say with extreme surety that she will win 'Best Actress' award in every function (can get a national award as well). The sex content in her role, horny expressions, dialogs (that can shut any person up) - everything made Vidya Balan the show-stopper, simply marvelous. Next to her whom I liked very much is Emraan Hashmi, a small wonder. His role was thin and short but his carrying out was commendable and deserves applause. Naseeruddin Shah was fantastic as a rude, selfish and villain-ish person. Tushaar Kapoor was first-rate in his gentle turned evil role. Rajesh Sharma deserves some points. Others like Anju Mahendrum, Mangal Kenkre & Shivani Tanskale are fine.

The One thing which I liked most in the whole was kick-ass dialog was heroic, crude and strong. Some sexual references were hilarious. Nearly every Dialog is a stunner. Awesome work on dialogs as well as story and lyrics by Rajat Arora. Cinematography by Bobby Singh was good as he covered 80's wonderfully. Costume by Niharika Khan was top notch. Making Vidya Balan look sexy in her big tummy was hard but costumes covered much. Music by Vishal-Shekhar is average. 'Ooh La La" and "Ishq Sufiyana" are the only ones that one can enjoy in a situational position.

On the whole, The Dirty Picture is the best movie of this year so far as it has every ingredient perfect in it. From Story to script to dialogs to performances - everything is just fantastic. Even the Sex-quotient is very high and vulgarism is over the top, still this movie shines for his genuineness and strength in plot and lead actors. Moreover, This movie is a grand success for it's three elements "Entertainment, entertainment and entertainment". Finally I would state that, If you skip "The Dirty Picture", it will be one of the biggest mistakes you've ever made. Please, watch it! P.S. - This movie is 'Strictly', not for kids and under-ages.

'RA'avan Vs. 'G'eevan - A Technical Epic
25 October 2011
Warning: Spoilers
It's RA. One craze all over the nation. Since the poster released (6-7 months earlier), everyone was eager about the movie as King 'SRK' Khan is gonna be back after 1.5 years. Expectations is not a factor to discuss anymore. You can see a long queue in front of multiplexes and single screens just to book this SRK flick. SRK announced that this movie is mainly for kids, but parents are not ready to seriously listen to it. From Kids to senior citizens - everyone is same eager to experience RA. One.

Apart all, huge money (nearly 175 crores) is involved in this supernatural flick. The trailers can easily indicate how high-class & modern technology is used in the movie. The visual special effects can easily compete to any English action flick or sci-fi. If Kids & Adults loved our previous supernatural flicks like "KRRISH", "ROBOT", then they are ought to fall in deep love with "RA. One".

Shekhar (Shah Rukh Khan), a father trying hard to 'fit-in' in his Son Prateek's (Armaan Verma) badass world- A son ... is trying hard to 'dude-up' his dad from 'aiiiyyyo' to 'YO!' And Sonia (Kareena Kapoor), a mother lost in translation between her husband's 'ingeva' and her son's 'Inn'it!' Finally, Shekhar strike gold when he designs one hell of a Game. But finally, the Game Crashes & instead of being played, The Game starts playing everything else. RA. One(Arjun Rampal) - The Next Level.

As we can see, the story has a newness in it & is complete ideal for a supernatural sci-fi flick. This type of storyline can only work in a jaw-dropper visual treat that should not show even a bit of mercy in visual effects. Here is the main reason why RA. One works for a big time.

The Music of the movie lives up very much and does justice to the movie. "Chammak Challo" is already a fav to many listeners and is still intact for a long time. "Dildaara" is my personal favorite. But "Criminal", "Bhare Naina" also works well. "Raftaarein" was skillfully used in the background. Vishal-Shekhar's Background music works well yet again after "Taxi No. 9211" and "Bluffmaster". V Manikanandan's cinematography was over the top. It was a tough thing to do in a sci-fi like RA. One but he does much justice to it. Sanjay Sharma's editing was perfect. Andy Gill, Parvez Khan, Spiro Razatos and Firoz Boss - these four men steal the show by Action direction filled with amazing stunts and chases. Dialogues by Kanika Dhillon and Niranjan Iyengar were top notch (Just the dialogues SRK loves to recite - "Ladai Goliyon Se Nahi Dil Se Jeeti Jati Hain"). Costumes by Manish Malhotra were fabulous. What is new to say about the best one in the business? But from sources I came to know that the suits of RA. One & G. One are designed by Robert Kurtzman (The famous man from "Austin Powers in Goldmember", "Bad Boyz : II", "Spy Kids"). One can easily say G. One & RA. One's suits are almost same like the suits of "Spy Kids". anyway, who cares if our SRK & Arjun Rampal looks cool in it? Anubhav Sinha, the director himself sits to write the movie himself and it seems that he has taken the idea from many Hollywood Action flicks. But still, it takes courage to introduce the new idea in Bollywood. Anubhav Sinha, Mushtaq Sheikh & Kanika Dhillon unitedly wrote the script of the movie which besides, having a feeling of inspiration from Hollywood flicks has much Desi factors that can only fit in an Indian top-class movie. From Introduction to Conclusion, RA. One is a movie that has every ingredient perfectly studded in it.

Nothing new to say about Shah Rukh Khan, he is a perfectionist always where acting comes. Unlike all other romantic flicks he had delivered, this was a different character - Father-cum-Scientist-cum-Superhero. SRK did Shekhar & G. One both so well, that i seemed this role was nothing so challenging to him. We see, a brand new Kareena Kapoor, the 'mom' who is maximum time staying with a 'pissed' attitude. But Kareena has earlier claimed that people will remember her for RA. One. And frankly speaking, surely they will. Armaan Verma is blessed with many quantities that a important character in a movie should have. Shahana Goswami as Jenny was commendable. Satish Shah, as Iyer, a total nonsense person & a troubling neighbor stole some moments. Others like Dalip Tahil, Satish Shah, Suresh Menon, Mushtaq Shiekh and Tom Wu were very obedient in their roles. Sanjay Dutt & Priyanka Chopra's special appearance were a distraction towards something new in the running movie. SRK tweeted that "Rajini Sir Blessed RA. One..." & folks, so he did. Rajinikanth was tremendous in his damn good guest appearance.

Most probably after GHAJINI, this is the second time when a Bollywood movie is titled by its villain's name. So, it was very important for a villain to live up with such respect given. Here comes Arjun Rampal, the show stealer, RA. One. His excellently designed look, suits and mighty powers he was given helped him very much to bring out the evil in himself. I would declare RA. One Arjun's best performance till date.

Finally, From Introduction to Conclusion, RA. One is a movie that has every ingredient perfectly stashed in it. The main fact is it is very courageous to live up with humongous expectations of people & not let them down a bit and RA. One skillfully does that. In short, RA. One is a kick-ass entertainer with never-seen-before visual effects. A Must Must Must Watch in this festive season. Go, have a blast. Kaboom!

Stress-reliever
9 September 2011
EXPECTATIONS ---- Yash Raj, Ali Zaffar, Imran Khan & Katrina Kaif - now that's a pair that can drag audiences into cinema halls. MBKD is a brave attempt to compete with a tornado flowing these days named 'BodyGuard'. So, just to change the taste from Action to comedy, MBKD works for a big time. Imran Khan, the most successful teen in B'Town, Katrina, the most successful popular actress and Ali Zaffar, the heartthrob of many gals. MBKD is the biggest surprise that can come with three crackers. Also, the super-successful music is also there. What does one want more?

MBKD is a rom-com based on a new tragedy as it claims itself in teasers. And, so it is. We have seen this type of story in Onir's SORRY BHAI or MY BROTHER'S WIFE (or A BEAUTIFUL WIFE). But MKBD is totally different from them. It's entertaining, funny, clumsy & is filled with strong performances.

Kush Agnihotri (Imran Khan) is looking for the ideal Indian bride for his brother Luv Agnihotri (Ali Zafar), who stays in London. In his quest, Kush goes through an array of wacky encounters with several families until he finally finds that perfect girl in Dimple Dixit (D)(Katrina Kaif), the craziest / wackiest girl he has ever known.

Both the families meet. Formalities are completed. Preparations proceed in full swing. And just then Kush falls in love with Dimple... his brother's dulhan. Dimple is also in love with him. How can their love overcome in this society? That's when a wacky plot with wacky incidents take place.

MBKD deals with a very heavy plot in a funny and light manner and changes the whole mood where a calamity is occurring. Director Ali Abbas Zafar has a dream debut fulfilled by this. His smart direction and handling every scene with good humor shows that he's different from most other directors debuting nowadays.

Imran Khan does a commendable job this time also. Unlike Delhi Belly, Imran achieves such a role this time that has been focused on him entirely. And also he lives with it more than good. Some people call it 'Reserved' and some call 'Fattu' Imran had to do work in such a role and does it bloody good. The dulhan herself, Katrina Kaif was gorgeous and pretty and a powerhouse entertainer this time. But she still needs to work on her Hindi and acting skills. Ali Zaffar was a joy to watch. A dashing, handsome, wild, cool & aggressive player, just opposite to his brother's nature. Ali Zaffar had delivered a far better performance this time than 'Tere Bin Laden' by giving some giggles. Kanwaljeet Singh as Dimple's Daddy & Parikshat Sahni as Colonel Agnihotri (Luv & Kush's Dad) were tremendous. Imran's friends were cool. Debutant Tara D' Souza (as Piyali) was fine. The man who acted a s Dimple's brother gave a bad performance trying to imitate SRK from My Name Is Khan.

Music by Sohail Sen was the major plus point of this movie. Every song was situational (after a long period) and vibrant and excellent. Background Score worked fine too. Next comes screenplay which somehow covers up the flaws and immaturity of the script. A cool and pacy script, we can say. Cinematography by Sudeep Chatterjee, which mostly covered Agra & Taj was fine. Costumes were fabulous. Editing could have been much better.

Allover, MBKD tries to be something different in clichéd rom-com movies but for a so-so plot and some clumsy moments, it stays afloat. Forget beating Bodyguard's records, it is somehow a nearly good competition to it. But some funny moments, Imran Khan & a spectacular music score make Mere Brother Ki Dulhan far better than most other movies of this type came in this year. It's lightening, joyful, honest & a bit introvert. So, just go to theaters, pop up the corns and forget stress and tension.

Get 'Ready' For This 'Dabangg' Bodyguard
31 August 2011
From the last 2 years Salman Khan, the 'jaaneman' of mass-pullers has been giving blockbuster hits like Wanted(2009), Dabangg(2010) and that has not been a failure a single time. Wanted, Dabangg, Bbuddah, Singham - Bollywood has got into form of welcoming spectacular action flicks, so Bodyguard is nothing new for it but a Salman touch. But Bodyguard is not a Action flick like the above ones. It's main stream carries Romance but we can see a situation also where action is necessary, just like Ready. Like Ready, this one is also an adaption of south hit 'Bodyguard'. But the question arrives is Bodyguard better or Ready? Ready was a comic-con movie where there was no serious matter, but Bodyguard doesn't lack of that at all. Bbuddah, even being a spectacular film stood a 'so-so' in the box-office, Singham disappointed very much in both fields, so can Bodyguard be the most successful Action movie of this year? The Answer's 'Yes'.

When it comes to being punctual and doing his duties perfectly, Lovely Singh is unmatchable. Taking great pride in what he does, he spares no effort in giving his everything to his profession.

Summoned for an assignment of guarding Divya, the daughter of Sartaj Rana, a business tycoon. Lovely Singh accompanies her to her campus, but ends up rubbing her the wrong way with his over-protective nature ...and paranoia about security. She finds him to be a major obstacle in leading a regular campus life. To throw him off-track and get him out of the way, she comes up with a 'master-plan'- that of trapping him in a fake love affair. 'Once he's smitten by the girl of his dreams and is reveling in his new-found romance, he will leave us alone, and we shall be free to do our own thing unhindered', says Divya to her friends.

She becomes an anonymous admirer of his and starts hounding him, expressing her 'feelings' in no uncertain terms. Lovely Singh however proves to be a tough nut to crack, and it takes quite a bit of doing from her side to penetrate his fort-like exterior. But once she succeeds in doing so, he transforms into a completely different person. Divya is triumphant and is all set to relish her regained freedom.

But things take an unexpected turn when she learns a few things about Lovely Singh. Things that she could've never even imagined! And she soon finds herself trapped in a dilemma that she's unable to resolve! And with her, soon enough, Lovely Singh finds himself ensnared in a web of lies, trickery and deceit!

On the whole, Bodyguard is a successful tale of Love, Faith & Betrayal. Even the film is not an action movie fully, the action scenes are sure to rain whistles and claps and shouts. When you see Salman's entry with the title track, be sure that there will be no mercy for applause throughout the hall.

Siddique's simple but effective story and screenplay has every essential present in it that can bring a rock-hard mood in the hero. Lovely Singh is the symbol of silence, toughness and roughness and the script helps enough to glorify it. The twist-in-the-tale in the climax, which is one of the most surprising ones appeared in recent times was a stunner that makes you forget everything but to concentrate on the movie. How Sallu was tricked by nearly every man he trusted even the person he was protecting throughout, Kareena's sudden change in emotion, the unique storyline and some few but awesomely stylish action sequences and moves makes Bodyguard a dream debut for any director. Just like Abhinav Singh Kashyap, Siddique just got himself a master-blaster at his first try.

The first half of the movie was just going by the story to come to the main plot but the second half was furious in parts and it totally abolished the flaws of the first part. The second part works in a respective manner and transcends conceptually to an unbelievable climax. There are some comic moments by Rajat Rawail & some tough moments by the hero himself which are joy to watch.

Music of this movie is a bit disappointing. The title track is perfect, no doubt. But other tracks are not so special. 'Teri Meri' is beautifully visualized and it can be a good pick.

This one should be counted in one of the best performances by Salman Khan. The always 'no-bakwaas', silent, sweet & tough in times Lovely Singh showed some guts and attitudes which are like the very first time in Bollywood. Lovely Singh overlaps Radhe & Chulpul Pandey this time. Bloody Good! Kareena Kapoor was pretty and stole some actually good moments. As this movie is mainly man-centric, Kareena's character can look a bit unimportant but as she's a good performer, she tried to not let us feel she was unimportant at all. Mahesh Manjrekar was disappointing. Aditya Pancholi in a cameo having a fistfight with Lovely was commendable. Rajat Rawail gives some laughs. Raj Babbar had nothing much to do. Others like Hazel(extremely beautiful girl), Asrani, Mohan Kapoor etc. were okay.

Vijayan's action will yet again steal the awards this year, only if Ra. One & Don 2 doesn't compete such well. BGM by Sandeep Shirodhkar were perfectly situational. Art direction by Shailesh Mahadik & Monica Angelica Bhowmick doesn't catch eye. Editing by Sanjay Sankla is appropriate.

Sallu's his intentions directly indicated that Bodyguard will shake the box-office for a big time and I'm sure he will pass with flying colors. Bodyguard is a must-watch for the die-hard Salman fans and those who are entertaining movie lovers, this one's a certain dish that they would lick fingers after finishing. Final verdict 'Khud Pe Ek Ehsaan Karna Ke Bodyguard Ko Miss Nahi Karna'.

It's Awesome For What It Promised To Deliver --- Entertainment
3 June 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The ones who are wooed by Wanted(2009) & loved Dabangg(2010), here what Salman Khan - The Darling of the Masses, have for them - a complete package of Fun, Laughs, Gags, Confusions, Dialogues & Fultoo Mast Music. Ready is always the most expected & the first biggie of the year, but still it gives better than expectations.

Anees Bazmee, the man who has special comic treatment that forces to make audiences jump on their seats laughing, yet again proves that he is not cold enough after delivering Ridiculous No Problem(2010) & Thank You(2011).

Prem Kapoor(Salman Khan) incidentally loves Sanjana(Asin), who is bound in chains if her two 'Chachus' as they want Sanjana to get married with their brother-in-laws. Prem with the help of his family creates such confusing situation that Prem proves to be the best groom for Sanjana to her 'chachus'. But what happens next? That's Ready.

Shuttle performances by everyone, especially Salman Khan & Paresh Rawal, makes Ready more efficient for family audiences to bring their laughs out. Wacky storyline, awesome music, little unorganized but a goofy screenplay with tons of macho & funny dialogues (especially, "Kaun hai yeh, CON, kaun), Ready is a all-rounder entertainer that has no single boring moment. This one is the first seriously likable movie of 2011. Please don't miss this one. Be READY for two hours of non-stop crazy rollicking ride.

P.S. - Also see the rocking trailer of "SINGHAM(2011)"

Facebook V/s. Friendship
14 November 2010
Warning: Spoilers
"Facebook" - The ultimate social network which is a maniac all over the world has a history that is much more than just a story. David Fincher's take on this universal tale reveals the dark side of every human hidden in him that comes out to achieve success in life. 500 Million users and still counting... a huge number that doesn't come so easy and you can't even imagine so many characters when you decide to open your own social networking site. Here, we come to know that Facebook was not invented with the intention to make billions of dollars but as time flies, the mentality of "being just popular" changes to "being very rich". That's the story of every human who gets involved in socialism or business of which a perfect example is the great betrayal hidden in the story of the invention of 'Facebook'. So, you don't care a f**k if you are pronounced guilty for that.

Mark Zuckerberg(Jesse Eisenberg), the student of Harvard University is a complete gizmo geek himself for whom programming is as easy as peeing. After breaking up with his girlfriend Erica Albright(Rooney Mara), in frustration he blogged rude things about her but the most of all, when hatred against girls rise in him, he comes up with an idea to create a website to rate the attractiveness of female. He hacks into the databases of Harvardvarious residence halls, downloads pictures and names of female students and, using an algorithm for ranking chess players supplied by his best friend Eduardo Saverin(Andrew Garfield), he creates in a few hours a website called "FaceMash.com", where students can rate girls by their hotness. Mark was punished for six months because of "Facemash"'s humongous traffic that brought down the network of Harvard. But however, the fame of 'Facemash' drew attention of Cameron Winklevoss(Armie Hammer), Tyler Winklevoss(Josh Pence) & Divya Narendar(Max Minghella) that results Mark to be the programmer of the website owned by Winklevoss twins & their business partner, Divya.

Soon afterwards, Mark comes up with an Idea to make and exclusive social networking site, "Thefacebook.com" an approaches his friend Eduardo for economical help. Eduardo invests a thousand dollars on 'Thefacebook' to start it. Soon, Winklevoss twins hears of this and believe that Zuckerberg stole their idea to open 'Thefacebook'. Soon, 'Thefacebook' raises it's members and Sean Parker(Justin Timberlake), the founder of Napster joins the gang when 'Facebook('The' word was removed then) crew shifted them to California. But this vexed Eduardo. Soon, situations were solo handled by Sean himself and which resulted to conflict between Mark, the creator and programmer of 'Facebook' and Eduardo, The CFO of 'Facebook'. Dancing like a puppet of Sean, Mark cheated his most best and loyal friend Eduardo and later that night, Parker, along with a number of Facebook interns, was arrested for possession of cocaine during a party thrown on the occasion of Facebook's 1 millionth member. All of this resulted to a massacre when The Winklevoss twins and their business partner Divya along with Eduardo sued Mark for cheating(with Eduardo) and stealing Idea(of The Winklevoss twins).

Credits mostly go to a indomitable screenplay by Aaron Sorkin. Even the film is based on the book "The Accidental Billionaires" written by Ben Mezrich, Aaron puts up a beautifully composed and well-equipped script where smart & fresh dialogues are the icing on the cake. Music by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross also are commendable because situationally, the songs were a perfect choice(especially, "Baby, you're a Rich Man" at the end of the movie was a tremendous song). Cinematography by Jeff Cronenweth was also stylish especially when he had caught the The Winklevoss twins rowing in the lake or The beautiful sights of Harvard.

Jeesie Eisenberg, the well known face from Zombieland(2009) was promising in the role of Mark and his smartness and attitudes in the character were proprietor of applause. It can be said, he stole the eyeballs alone. Rooney Mara was very short but inspite of being short, those moments had only 'Roonie' written on them. Andrew Garfiled was tremendous at a word for his vibrant & undramatic performance. Justin Timberlake who was 'Sean' and the only negative figure in the plot was witty and sufficient and it could be easily said that even his role was not so important, he didn't made us feel that. Others like Armie Hamme(Cameron Winklevoss), Josh Pence(Tyler Winklevoss), Max Minghella(Divya Narendra) were good but not commendable.

Sensitive & sober direction by David Fincher was another constituent that needs to be mentioned mostly. Adding life to a non-fictional story behind the invention of "Facebook" wouldn't have been such a simple job but with a super casting and severely talented crew, he made that possible. Giving super films like Fight Club(1999) & Oscar winner The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button(2008), he has relived the magic of controversial movies by "The Social Network" which surely needs excessive achievements.

Don't miss this 'Facebook' film at any cost not because it's related with the effects of 'Social Networking' in our social life but because it also inspires the fact where Money changes 'Loyalty' to 'Greed' and later 'Betrayal'. One of the greatest betrayals of all time, stands somewhere in the land of Harvard. Watch "The Social Network" to experience the changes in a human after fame binds him and try to find a heart behind the screen. This one's one of the greatest deliverances ever. Don't miss it.

Dabangg (2010)
7/10
No Other Movie Can be Dabangg(Fearless) After This One
10 September 2010
Warning: Spoilers
EXPECTATIONS - Just log on to any Ticket Booking Site and you will get the answer. Maximum shows of this weekend is houseful already. After the path breaking success of "WANTED" last year, nobody's gonna miss Salman Khan at his macho best this year. The stylish promos have also influenced the public for this flick. After 3 Idiots and Khan, This one was the most expected movie this year and nobody would have give a damn to miss this one. And If I come to Sallu fans, no wonder, they may see this movie again and again the same day after watching the first show.

Good And Bad - The fight between them was a common plot in 60's to 80's. It used to entertain the viewers when Good almost defeated Bad, but Bad abruptly strikes against Good but at last Good wins. This grown up to masala movies at a time by adding Comedy, Romance, Emotional Scenes etc. etc. in it. Bollywood recalls that genre again this decade in a fully masaledaar manner in assistance with Salman as The Symbol Of Good & Tough.

Ghajini, Wanted, A Wednesday etc. are the masterpieces this century representing the Social/Action genre. Dabangg brings back the macho feel in bollywood long time after where Action holds no bar and Dialogues no limit. Dabangg is the type that will make the college gores dance, whistle, shout, clap and also present the other audiences two hour of complete fun ride with excessive good dialogues, distinctive action sequences and peculiar scenes of which some contain enjoyable humor.

The story revolves around Laalgunj, Uttar Pradesh(Which is said Lawless in the trailer) where crime, politics and socialism is at one place and police, government, administration is at the other place. Here in Laalgunj, Prajapati Pandey is the head of PANDEY Family where his own son Makhanchand Pandey(Arbaaz Khan), Wife Naini Pandey(Dimple Kapadia) and his step son, the extraordinary being of the family Inspector Dabangg(Fearless)Chulbul Pandey(Salman Khan) are the members. Chulbul never liked his step-father and step-brother which was unlikable for his mother. His mother was the only reason he lives in the same house with his step ones. When Naini died, Chulbul was thrown out of his house. Meanwhile, his love interest Rajo(Sonakshi Sinha) and he got married and were hopefully living happily in Chulbul's government given house when Chhedi Singh(Sonu Sood), supporter of MLA Dayal(Anupam Kher) & his troops were desperate to demolish Chulbul. The Fight between Good & Bad starts here which passes through many depressive & heroic moments.

In an action movie, a Hero always steals the eyeballs but in Dabangg, separately everyone delivered a commendable performance. Arabaaz as Makkhi(Chulbul's Bro), Sonu as Chhedi Singh and Dimple Kapadia in a small role of Chulbul and Makkhi's mother deserve appreciation. Meanwhile, Sonakshi as a Debutant was allover fare and did a well job in her sweet, soundless and unimportant role.

Younger brother of famous and appreciated director, Anurag Kashyap, The director of the movie Abhinav Singh Kashyap deserves great applause for embodying his and Dileep Shukla's fully masala-maarke story. The Dramatic & emotional scenes were handled quite well when he tried his best to avoid over-drama in some places. Action by R. Vijayan was fantastic in a word because it holds many sequences that will make the viewers wow at places. Dialogues which are also a element to take care of in a action entertainer had a newness and hardcore attitude in it which will be greatly greeted by Claps And Whistles by the audience especially, "Hum Tum Mein Itne Chhed..." & "Un Kamino Ka Main Bhagwan Hoon".

Composing music for a action entertainer is a tough job, but Sajid-Wajid does a splendid job by some foot tapping numbers like "Humka Peeni Hai" & "Hudd Hudd Dabangg", Soulful numbers like "Tere Mast Mast Do Nain", "Chori Kiya Re Jiya" and a Super Dance number "Munni" which is composed by Lalit Pandit.

Salman Khan was the one and only reason to run theatres and let me tell you that he bosses the movie all the way. When it comes to masses and heroic dialogue throwing, None other than Salman can handle it perfectly. Dabangg also adds to his blockbusters and the reason is none other than himself. Many known names like Om Puri, Anupam Kher, Mahesh Manjrekar, Mahie Gill, Murli Sharma & Tinu Anand holded very unimportant role in the whole movie but they did their best they could to hold the roles they were given. Especially, Malaika Arora Khan was the apple of the eye in the "Munni" song sequence.

Allover, Dabangg is a full on masala entertainer with action in its heart and good dialogues in assistance with superhit performances and music in the side. The opening of the flick will be huge and at last it will stay as a remarkable investment for the distributors in their life. It will create a great hubbub in the box-office defeating the collections made by other movies this ace. It's Salman all the way and if you are a die-hard fan of his massive avatar, you just can't miss this one. The people who are not so fond of masala-mardhaar movies can try their luck for a splendid time-pass. For others, this one's strongly Recommended. Final Word? Dabangg is a first-class entertainer with captivating essentials in assistance with formidable violence and fearlessness in it. It's not to be missed for any excuse.

This Osama Will Make You Fall Laughing
30 August 2010
Reading Such Good Reviews, Expectations got higher for this flick. The main reason of high expectations is nothing but the never heard before, honest & hilarious concept. OSAMA BIN LADEN - The name that is so famous that while writing it in any Data sheet in computer, there comes no "UNKNOWN SPELLING" underline. But this time he is not the source of terror, in fact he is not in the film. Then Who's The LADEN in "Tere BIN LADEN"? A Fake of course. Such authentic & comic concept was never thought before. Nearly 9 years passed from "9/11", many films are made on this historic event like "NEW YORK", "KURBAAN" & Many More. But "TERE BIN LADEN", doesn't bring up the concept once again, here the main suspect of the 9/11 conspiracy is brought up and in a very funny concept. Though The film has already fallen into many troubles but "Tere Bin Laden" is highly recommended for it's fresh concept and some pure humor.

In recent times, Comedy only means non-veg, double meaning jokes, abusing each other, misunderstandings, slapping each-other furiously, funny proverbs etc. etc. But "Tere Bin Laden" has introduced Comedy in a fresh package with some not-so-cheesy but damn funny dialouges, Cock- kicks, Chicken-Kabab Blasts, Laden make-ups, Carrot eating FBI Agents & many more like that. The Introductory Song "Good Looking Ullu Da Paththa" makes u start laughing and this journey continues till the end. Without lavish sets, beautiful foreign sites, too much budget, unnecessary songs - "Tere Bin Laden" amazes us by its great wit, slapstick script & some biting dialouges.

PLOT - Ali Hassan(Ali Zafar) & His Friend Gul(Nikhil Ratnaparkhi) are two luckless Pakistani reporters of a disgusting TV- channel "Danka TV". Ali is very desperate to go USA, The Land Of Opportunities to try his luck to become like A CNN & BBC Reporter or a very big man. But His Visa Applications are rejected several times. In Deep desperation, a weird idea catches his mind after seeing the LADEN Look-alike Noora(Pradhuman Singh). By The Help of make-up artist Zoya(Sugandha Garg), Ali turns Noora into Osama Bin Laden & takes his video & sells it to his boss Majeed(Piyush Mishra). From here, Ali's plan backfires & terrible confusions come up.

MUSIC - "ULLU DA PATHTHA" & "I LOVE AMREEKA" are tremendous. Great vocals by Shankar Mahadevan. Even the Ali Zafar Track "Bas Ek Soch" is missing in the film, it's beautiful. Besides Singing, This Good Looking Paki Boy is to watch out for in the future for good acting & nicely made stupid expressions what was needed for the movie. Rest Songs like "Shor Sharaba", "Kukduku" are fare.

ACTING - Debutant Paki Singer Ali Zafar has done very nice job and for his naughty & stupid expressions made in the movie are very cool. This Boy can work wonders in future. Fake Osama, Pradhuman Singh was also a man to watch out for because of his great face that can be easily mistaken as Osama and his stupendous and confusing expressions made in some places. Excellent! Sugandha Garg, Piyush Mishra & rest others are also nice.

DIRECTOR - A big round of applause for this young wonder named Abhishek Sharma to come out. He has amazed us by his capabilities as a founder of this out-of-the-box concept in Bollywood ever. The way the film is conceptualized by a small idea and made into a belly-tickler is astounding. Some new ideas like "Hen Screaming Competition", "Osama Spoof" are just tremendous. We will expect him gravely in future.

VERDICT - In recent times, when most of comedy movies are coming up, "Tere Bin Laden" is completely different from them in concept and humor. It entertains us from the first to last by its brilliant script, hilarious situations and hard punch-lines. But at box-office, it has a probability to fall down because of controversies relating it. But it's highly entertaining & a non-stop laughter machine. So, don't miss it at any cost & join this laughathon.

Amanush (2010)

Amanush - Story Of A Psychopath Turned Inhuman
29 August 2010
EXPECTATIONS - I didn't like soham at all. So, Inspite everyone in bengal I hadn't much expectations for this movie. But Soham has proved me wrong by doing such authentic acting. I came to a decision that the role was made for him only.

PLOT - Vinod(Soham), A Orphan gets a chance to read in engineering college where he meets his dream girl Rhea(Srabanti). Not any 1 else but Rhea cares about Vinod in the whole college. This caring touch turned into Love in Vinod's Heart, but love rose in Rhea's heart only for Aditya(Rehan). Hell-Treated Since Birth Vinod becomes Psychopath Killer to take over Rhea's Heart. But The ending comes to a very sad position.

ACTING - For the first time in his career, Soham has given his best in this film which is quite plausible. But except all, his acting needs cleansing a bit more. Overall, well done Soham. Srabanti as the leading lady has done a fair job. Others are quite OK. But it is to be noted that, Soham's acting a psychopath is better than the whole film.

DIRECTION - At the first chance, giving a disaster named "Dujone", Rajib balances a bit by giving this time a far more better film than that. But his direction skills are still to be improved. But Showing The sequences, arranging the scenes was well handled, must say. We will expect much better in future from him.

MUSIC - Very Promising and very well composed music was another good weapon of this movie. "OH MY LOVE", "HAY RAMA", "MONTA KORE URU URU" mesmerized us very much. But the title track was missing - which was quite disappointing. Also, The Background music was very good.

VERDICT - "AMANUSH" is a good movie to cut out the IPL Hangover, this season. It will be the most important film for Soham's carrier because this film takes us to a different acting sense of Soham. AMANUSH is a good-concept-ed, well acted movie, which lack interest in parts but makes it out in the end. So, I Recommend.

Khatta Meetha (2010)

Pot-Holes Full Of Slapstick Comedy
29 August 2010
After The Release of the movie, all the reviews written for "Khatta Meetha" is far different from this one. This one's a bit introvert but that doesn't mean that this review is better than other ones. Review is a series of sentences in which a critic puts down his emotions & personal thought on the film. This one's also like that. Usually, people go to theaters to watch a Priyadarshan flick only to enjoy to some good comedy(yes comedy, not humor. Humor is "Tere Bin Laden"). And when Akshay Kumar's with Priyadarshan, it always promises hilarious scenes, very funny dialogues & The Entertainment Machine "Akshay Kumar" Himself. This time not only does Akshay Kumar acts in A Priyan Movie but also produces it.

Watching the over-humorous promos of "Khatta Meetha", one will run to theaters only to experience bellyache r comedy by The most famous comedians like Akki, Rajpal Yadav , Johnny Lever, Asrani & many Others. But this one's not based on comedy only. Ya, it's not a comic caper. Also you can't believe it to be a satire by watching the video of the song "Bullshit". Then What is Khatta Meetha based on? - Khatta Meetha is a brave and honest attempt on the politics behind road construction and pool projects in our country. But the extraordinary comedy in it will also indicate it as a fultoo comedy movie. So, balancing on the two boats, Khatta Meetha starts it journey and its success surely depends on how viewers will take it as.

The Story covers on Sachin Tichkule(Akshay Kumar), A Hard-struggling Road contractor whose dream is to get pool & shopping-mall projects. He also thinks much for his work-force where the most naughty one is Rangeela(Rajpal Yadav). But the work-force being not so skillful & many impious works by Sachin results to his road to success full of pot- holes. Not only that, his college love-interest Gehna Ganphule(Trisha Krishnan) comes to town being the municipal commissioner who's payback with Sachin troubles Sachin more. Also Karodimal(Asrani) is after Sachin for his money and interest. But the main sorrow in his life is when his parents are not beside him, his brother-in-laws Trigun Fatak(Manoj Joshi), Suhas Vichare(Milind Gunaji) & his elder brother Harish always exploit him because professionaly he's a nincompoop. But The Story catches other line when Priyadarshan makes us realize that Sachin's Brother-in-law duo & Harish is terribly involved in dirty politics which has mercy for nothing. From here, the main storyline continues.

Usually, Priyadarshan movies only make us laugh too much but this one's very different from his older works because beside making us laugh beating the chair handles, it also shows the shameful politics and the ultra violence and the severity that politics involves. That's why it will be much 'Kadhwa' for many people and hard to digest.

Akshay Kumar's always the main attraction and he always keeps the respect for that dignity. His comedy timings, expressions, dialogue throwing and serious acting in some scenes - everything will make the whole cineplex whistle and clap and also beat the cuisines where the audiences are sitting themselves. Which reminds me that this film has some good dialouges which were never before heard and expected in Priyadarshan's Comic Movie Making tradition. Trisha is not bad but it fells that she is underestimated in the whole movie. She would have done better if her role was shown important in the movie. Urvashi, Manoj Joshi, Milind Gunaji, Neeraj Vora, Aruna Irani, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Makrand Deshpande everyone were fare. But the ones who snatch the eyeballs were Rajpal Yadav, Asrani in their comic best; Johnny Lever as a cameo and Hot Kainaat Arora in the party song of the year "Aila Re Aila".

Music Was not so good except the funny satiric "Bullshit" & "Aila Re Aila". The most beautiful song the movie "Sajda" was changed from K.K. to a Roop Kumar Rathore Version. Anyway, It's disappointing Pritam.

Now if I come to the negative sides then, This film doesn't contain a straight and particular plot. Many attempts like the Road-Roller scene, Karodimal's house decoration and some more like that will make u laugh in the theaters but returning home, when u will think about the movie the foregoing scenes will feel like unnecessary. This film has many thing to tell in only 160 minute duration. But if you watch the film cool-minded then maybe it will not feel unwell to you otherwise you will be willing for the film to end not taking any more pressure in mind.

The final word for "Khatta Meetha" is that if you are a die-hard Akshay or Akshay's comic talent fan, then this one's only for you. Don't Go on its looks or promos, this one's very different than its hilarious promos and has a strong concept in it which could have been used much better. But allover, if you support my views then don't miss this one if you wanna have a good time in the theaters long after "3 Idiots".
