Great acting, direction, it's a good film with one exception. They just made up too much stuff about abductions that isn't true. I wish they had simply gone to MUFON or another accredited group to get advice from real experiencers on visits and abductions. It's either going to be ET (a nice abduction) or a government (a terrible abduction). There are 1,000's of documented cases for both. I guess to be fair in 2013 it wasn't quite as widely known as 2024, but still all the resources were in place to get the story straight. The 2014 series Intruders gets a little bit closer to the truth, but perhaps that's why it's really hard to find. :)
This is not a throwaway teenage series about magic. This is a really cleverly crafted and well researched show. If it doesn't move you to tears then there might be something missing in your shallow hollow life :)
Highly recommended for people of all ages and all religions, it treats religion and magic with equal respect. The story telling throughout is fantastic and it done in a very original style, this show is not a cliche rehash of anything, it's new territory. I really hope they make a season 2, but if they don't it's ok, because honestly it would be really hard to top season 1. I am surprised it isn't much more highly rated. Enjoy :)
As a minimum this film should come with a bit warning at the start that you are going to be exposed to graphic torture of animals. But honestly it adds nothing to the story and the scenes should just be deleted. I realise that the majority of the world has become immune to this type of voilence and torture of animals, but it's 2024 and there is a growing group of people who have evolved beyond thinking this is ok. It is going to mentally scar some people, it ruins an otherwise really interesting and well made film. It is commendable that they have actually used research from Autism studies which looks at language development and then loss after the age of 4 and the blossoming of telepathic abilities. I can only imagine the writers are aware of the work of Diane Hennacy Powell. But to completely put off this part of the audience with animal torture is beyond my understanding.
