I must confess i was too late in watching this movie.
The casting is perfect good breed of actors - Ethan Hawke, Jude Law, Uma Thurman, they played their part to perfection. Loved the narration in the first half.
The background music was so beautiful, it engages your mind and soul into the movie.
Andrew Niccol has built a steady pace in the movie, easy to follow. He touches on the inherent weakness of man - discrimination! He takes it to a real scientific possibility!
The story is told so beautifully till the end. Lets make no mistake and give Jude Law credit as well, he plays his part very well and its an important part in the movie, its due to him that Ethan Hawke is able to pursue his dream. All the scenes in the movie is well played out.
But the story of a man wanting to achieve his dream, with all his inherent defects, beating all odds at all stages, the triumph of the human spirit is truly endearing. Its a much watch movie that's all i can say, it would help one realise and connect one's own life story in a way. Truly up with the best of movies of all time (like a shawshank redemption), albeit ahead of its time. Go for it!
Namaste, im a Hindi speaking Bharatiya, just understand fragments of marathi. This is the first movie after watching, that i really do not have words to express. This movie is so good, that using words would not justify. So a humble effort at to express this movie in words. The initial thought was, "what kind of a movie would they make in the black and white era" But this movie brought tears to my eyes. This is a must watch movie for every individual on the planet.
It shows Sant Tukaram's single minded devotion towards Bhagwaan Pandurang and the intense adversity that He was able to overcome by Bhagwaan Pandurangs Grace. Sant Tukaram was the only saint to achieve sadheha mukti.
All the events in the movie are real (although there were a lot more events). The sattvikta of the actors, the acting, the speech, words and the spiritual energy in the words is unmatched. While watching the movie never for a minute does one ever feel that we are watching a movie or that the actors are playing a character. It feels like the entire life of a Saint flashing by as real, for each and every character. This is where the movie scores in ALL departments. So much of natural flow, depth and humility in the actors. You actually experience it!
Through the difficult and seemingly impossible events in life, Sant Tukaram's surrender, faith devotion (Bhakti) solves even the most complicated problems in life.
By the end of the movie, we all can learn an everlasting lesson. The same struggle of good people v/s the bad, the same things still continue even in todays times. Only the backdrop (Time) changes. This movie is applicable and practical even today.
I don't think this generation has ever witnessed such a movie. Honestly rating it 10/10 is also too less. No number can quantify the value of this movie. My only submission to anyone who gets across this review is to definitely watch this movie. And if possible do watch this movie with ones children.

Kai Po Che is on screen adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's '3 mistakes of my life'. Well what do i say, i love the colours used in the movie, the screenplay, direction, sense of bond and humour shown amongst the friends.
Surprisingly the songs are also soul touching and blends really well in to the film. The newcomers in the movie do a really good job. But it had to be newcomers who would do more justice to the job.
Taken an emotional theme in the entire movie. Cricket is something that the entire Nation is glued to. If you're a sports person you can identify better. The song "manja" gives you goose bumps and is well intervened in the story to give you an emotional high.
The only sequence in the movie i didn't like it the minority angle. Oh come on, the poor "victim" mentality. The field reality is totally different. It looks like a lot of these new writers and "intellectuals" like some kind of open or subliminal Hindu bashing. Remember it always takes two to tango. Just to substantiate, there aren't any Hindus in Iraq and Iran, afghanistan, pak but there are still conflicts there. There was no need to get this angle, i found it really misleading and amateurish. Well if you're really smart then why not expose love jehad, or the NWO or the CPI tactics etc. But lets leave it at that.
Amit Sadh provides a very intense role. Rajkumar Yadav is calm composed and the think tank. Whereas Sushant Singh Rajput is confused, impulsive and passionate about his dream.
But overall - 1. good theme, its about a dream, 2. good direction 3. good acting 4. script and screenplay is also a winner.
Go for it!
