As a big fan of the original Horror Hotel, which was truly delightful, I was really excited to see this team had made a sequel and I must say it was just as good and maybe even better than the original. I think what i like most about these films is the care free feeling you get from the filmmakers, who are clearly not concerned with being politically correct and instead have put their focus on telling fun, bizarre, gory tales that will offend some but entertain most. This delightful cornucopia of weirdness in the best possible way hits on all levels. Great campy style acting (in a good way) fantastic production value, and well told stories that gave me a nostalgic feeling and longing to get back to the eighties when people could survive being offended. We need more films like this! I'm hoping this team brings us a third!

Trippy
19 June 2019
I've never really been a fan of art house type films but my GF saw the trailer for this and wanted to see it so we gave it a shot and I must say, I really enjoyed it.This film is extremely odd in the best of possible ways. It's a character study that places you literally in the character's body. Seeing what they see and thinking what they think. A total mind bleep. Very trippy experience that leaves you questioning your identity.
Know Your Enemy

Thought Provoking Thriller
17 June 2019
I love thrillers that jump right into the action and leave the audience with questions that are slowly answered as the plot unwinds. "Know Your Enemy" is this type of film. I's an excellent tension and action filled plot that moves swiftly and intently building to a rewarding and powerful climax. all the while managing to explore some timely social issues in the process. Very well done.

We need more films like this!
13 June 2019
We need more films like this with beautiful messages of forgiveness, faith and grace. The story is well told and very well acted by the ensemble cast. It pulls you in, pulls on the heart strings and leaves you feeling inspired. I definitely recommend it and look forward to what's next from this talented filmmaker!
Maussan's UFO Files
(2019)
Fascinating!
13 June 2019
I've always been skeptical of what is being fed to us by the mainstream media and especially skeptical of topics where people are called "crazy conspiracy theorists" for questioning the official narrative. Time and time again conspiracy theories have turned out to be true. In this documentary we get a fascinating perspective from a fascinating journalist named Jaime Maussan, who has bravely dedicated his life to the study of UFO's and his findings are pretty eye opening to say the least. Highly recommend this to anyone with an open mind.

Compelling UFO argument
13 June 2019
My girlfriend has a bit of an obsession when it comes to UFO's, so she was excited to watch this so we gave it a go. I've alway been a bit of a skeptic in this department but also skeptical of our own government and where it's interests lie. This doc presents some pretty compelling evidence and arguments that opened my eyes to the possibility. Bit of course this possibility will only be apparent to those that truly have an open mind and are not prone to propaganda... which is most people.

Action packed mma thriller
12 June 2019
As an MMA fan I had to check this one out and it was actually really good. Classic story of a desperate man who turns to crime to solve his problems and all hell breaks loose. Good performances and lots of twists and turns in this action packed thriller.

Good clean fun!
11 June 2019
I stumbled upon this hysterical little gem of an indie comedy the other night with my GF. We loved it. Some good old fashioned politically incorect humour and some deep insights into the dynamics of modern relationships. We need more comedies like this !

Beautiful and Timely!
11 June 2019
This was a beautifully shot film that grabbed me from the beginning and kept me engaged throughout with it's well designed narrative. It delves into the timely issues of identity, prejudice as these topics relate to young people who are coming of age. I don't want to give anything away here because you really do need to see it for yourself. I highly recommend it!
Nowhere Mind

metaphysical mastery!
11 June 2019
I really enjoyed this. I'm a sucker for films that delve into the metaphysical and this did not disappoint. This is a well told, thought provoking story with relatable characters. It pulled me in from the start. Clearly the director had a strong vision and executed it to perfection. Great dialogue delivered wonderfully by a great cast and shot beautifully.
Cool look iat the artist's process
10 June 2019
My girlfriend is an artist and wanted to check this one out so we popped up the pop corn and gave it a shot. it was a very interesting fly on the wall experience of the artist's process. Very cool, even for non-artists like myself!

Good clean fun... with dogs!

I'm not normally a rom-com type of guy but my girlfriend picked this one out the other night and I actually loved it. Probably because I'm a sucker for dog movies, lol. The acting was really good and the story was fun. I would actually watch it again if I were in a bad mood and needed a natural lift. .

I am a huge fan of the film noir genre so this was right up my alley and it definitely did not disappoint! Gorgeous!
17 May 2019
As a fan of films that tackle spiritual, moral and existential issues, this was right up my alley. This was a well told thought provoking film that delves into the psyche of a troubled man dealing with the demons of his past. Tightly woven script, Beautiful cinematography and strong performances from the entire cast. Looks like this was all done without the backing of a major studio. i look forward to watching it again.
Nothing Really Happens

Absurdity at it's best!
12 May 2019
As a big fan of existential philosophy and all things absurd, this was pure gold! It had the feel of Charlie Kaufman's Adaptation and Being John Malkovich blended with elements of Donnie Darko minus the recognizable name talent. Characters grappling with life's biggest issues and the most ridiculous of ways. Lots of laughs and lots to think about here. Great flick!
The Evil Down the Street

Great indie horror flick!
11 May 2019
I'm normally not a huge horror guy but my GF loves the genre so she got her way again and I'm glad she did. This is indie filmmaking at it's finest. Lots of suspense in this well crated story and very well executed in the direction and acting. Kudos to the team that made this. I look forward to their next one.
Earthrise
(2014)
Indie Filmmaking at it's finest
10 May 2019
This is indie filmmaking at it's finest. Without the bells and whistles that come with a big budget Hollywood budget, the filmmakers rely on the strength of the tightly woven narrative and the strength of a great ensemble cast. I love films that require it's audience pay close attention to keep up with the narrative. In the case of Earthrise, if you do, you will be rewarded.

Crazy Story!
1 May 2019
This is a tragic and gut wrenching story of injustice that delves into the horrific murders of eight children and the ensuing tragedy of a wrongful murder conviction. If you enjoyed "Making of a Murderer" as much as I did, then this documentary is for you.
The Texture of Falling

Thought Provoking
10 April 2019
I 'm normally not an art house film guy but my girlfriend wanted to watch this so we gave it a shot. It did not disappoint and actually delivered on many levels. I loved the juxtaposition of the beautiful imagery with dark taboo subject matter that made this film not only thoroughly enjoyable but also extremely thought provoking. We spent the rest of the night talking about it. Great job by a first time director!
Unlawful Justice
(2018)
Timely Morality Tale
8 April 2019
I really enjoyed this timely and thought provoking film that tackles some heavy subject matter. At it's core, Unlawful justice is a morality tale that focusses on a police officer who is trying to do the right thing while being tempted by a flawed justice system and his own need to provide for his family. The story is well crafted, the acting is top notch and the cinematography is stellar. I look forward to watching it again.
Char Man

Good flick!
7 April 2019
I'm usually not a huge fan of the found footage genre as these types of films are usually plagued with poorly developed scripts and bad acting, but this flick was actually quite good. the strength of the film comes from really good naturalistic and subtle acting from all of the main characters, making the film feel more like an actual documentary and less like a low budget film.

Powerful Film!
12 March 2019
This was an amazing documentary that highlights the power of the human spirit through the real life story of a strong muslim woman's pursuit of her dreams despite all of the cultural and familial obstacles that persist for many muslim women. This is extremely insightful, especially for western audiences who take for granted the privileges we all have by virtue of living in the western world where we have for the most part achieved equality.
