The concept of this movie is somewhat interesting, and it is the overall story that gives this movie any value at all. Even though a large majority of the story is pretty lame and predictable, I was still able to get caught up in it and want to see how the plot played out, it is the only thing that kept me from turning this completely off. The graphics are just horrible and at times make it difficult to watch. The acting is pretty bad throughout, aside from Nate Richert who was decent as he made his depressing character very likable and genuine, he seemed to really take the role seriously. So, in all Gamebox 1.0 is pretty much what I had expected. I really can't recommend watching this movie, but hey, its not a COMPLETE waste of an hour and a half....almost though.
Well, against my better judgment I decided to watch Stan Helsing today. I am a very big fan of both the horror and comedy genres, however I quickly realized that some things should never be combined. Even though this movie did have a moment or two that could be considered funny, I found the hardest thing about watching this movie was trying to sit through the final 15-20 minutes, that took a lot of will and discipline on my part.
Parodies in general are difficult to pull off, but when this film included some of my favorite serial killers such as Jason, Freddy, Chucky, and Leatherface I thought it had some material to work with, and had potential to be decent. However, almost every joke attempt came off as lame, immature, and just not funny. Like I said, there were a couple of jokes here and there that managed to get a smirk, but most of them, even the funny ones, missed the mark. The best thing about this movie, and the sole reason I gave it a whole star was because of the terrific performances (umm..okay outfits actually) of Diora Baird and Desi Lydic. Both of these women were dressed in revealing Halloween costumes throughout the entire movie.....well played.
If you like parodies, than you may get a kick out of Stan Helsing. Everyone else should avoid this movie like the black plague.

I'm going to be straight up with this movie, it's pretty bad all the way around. The acting is awful and just downright hard to watch for the majority of the movie, and the story/plot doesn't make a lot of sense.
However, with that being said there are a couple of moments in this movie where you may catch yourself laughing at the immature humor. This is setup to be like an American Pie style of movie, however it falls way short of that comparison. But for a "Late Night Comedy" it's kind of what you expect, lame sex jokes, lots of nudity, zero character development, and a stupid storyline. I ended up giving it 2 stars because like I mentioned, there are a couple of funny moments, and if you're in the mood for a low budget raunchy comedy this could pass as enjoyable.
