I never tell about the plot on my review, you can find it everywhere! I watched this movie without knowing Nothing about it. So i thought "oh he is very clever ,he is using lots of old stock film to make it look like it was shot 20 years ago" and I thought "uhm this movie is way more experimental and artsy compared to his other movies". I watched this movie because I really enjoyed Mountain Might Depart and Ash Is Purest White and A Touch of Sin. And this one feels more like a collections of scenes, different styles all put together. It has somehow a dreaming, floating quality, it feels like a documentary and then it is also fiction, But it works, mostly because Zhao Tao has this magical presence on the screen and you look at her wondering what will she do next. After I finished I went online looking at reviews and discovered it is actually made with material the director shot before. If you are looking at this title it means that you are already open and ready to watch something different from USA mainstream movies. So I would definitely recommend this.

First let me tell you I didn't read the books. But a movie or TV show should be good even for the non readers. I just finished to watch the first series. It starts ok, made me curious. At a point i started to dislike the selfishness of the main character. I found it a bit too slow, lots of hints and no actual replies and answers. Also it seemed to lack that surprise effect, that woah moment. I do not like to criticize, but it is a bit silly that they have a fully operational email system and high quality surveillance cameras, but they still communicate using papers. And this is for the policy too. Good soundtrack. If you have nothing better to do in the winter cold months watch it!

I felt the need to write a positive review. I think that there are too many harsh reviews here. To me it is a good action movie, with a good plot and clever funny dialogues. A movie starting with a guy on a bicycle listening to The Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden has already my full attention! There is a very good hint about the main character skills in the beginning, when he catches a fish with his bare hands in a small river where he is forced to camp. Yes there is a certain "First Blood" vibe. Revenge, nature and good boy versus bad cops. But the director is very good because he never pushes in the silly violence / blood bad. It is good entertainment. All the legal language and tricks bit might be a bit complicated for the the people that are not from USA. Like me. But it has good actors, good camera work and a nice soundtrack. Not a masterpiece but definitely not a six star movie ! :)

As usual I watched the movie without reading reviews or the plot. I discovered this Thai tile because it was in the recommended 2024 foreign movies in couple of websites.

I am sure this movie will resonate with whoever is a little older, lets say older than 25, all the memories about the time spent with your grandparents will inevitably come up at some point. I suppose we all had grandparents that were not good at expressing their feeling with words, but their actions and generosity are in our memories.

The plot is simple. I really appreciate that the whole thing is handed in a very nice way, a good dose of humour, jokes and bickering and a good dose of serious family moments. I enjoyed that they didn't go into the melodramatic over the top emotional moments. It is 2 hours long but it went very fast. The plot twist at the end is a nice touch and surprise.

All the actors and characters looked real. Grandma is totally adorable.

And Yes I am pretty sure that a tissue will be needed at some point.

I saw this movie with no idea of the plot. I just read some people online telling that it was a good movie by well loved director Takashi MIke. I like many movies that he did. And I had expectation. And well the movie is not a horror, it is not scary. Does it have blood? Yes. Crazy people? Yes. Is it funny and entertaining? Well not that much. Here is where the issue is for me. When the movie finish I thought "is this all?" that Meh feeling. No real drama or tension or big surprise. Everything move in a smooth way, And as somebody else already wrote, yes very good opening scene, and then you think, ok ok something good will come.

I have no idea of the book or comic this is based on. So maybe the story was all already there with not so much room to change things.

Come on people, don't be too harsh on this movie! It is a funny cool crazy movie. Not an arthouse masterpiece! It is perfect to distract and relax on an evening with popcorn and a beer or whatever you would like to drink. I am sure that anyone who has been on holiday or worked in Thailand is going to enjoy this movie a lot. You are going to understand many of the jokes about farangs. If you never set foot there maybe you will find it less funny. It is part crime, part comedy. The plot is kinda cool, with a final surprise. I am not going to reveal anything. There are couple of weaker moments - fillers, especially the final reunion husband and wife. But still I enjoyed it and you should give it a go too :)

I saw only two reviews on this title and I felt compelled to write mine too :) The movie is good fun, a comedy about making movies, inspiration, failure, and the big massive problem of creating another masterpiece after you made one in the past. The movie is maybe a bit too long, it has some slow moments. And then in the last 20 minutes it picks up rhythm and energy for the gran finale ! Lots of surprises. All the time, for a moment you might think Homer Simpson wrote the script. Maybe there are other layers of meaning in the black and white movie. I enjoyed the actors and the music and the clothes. It has a very nice vibe, it is able to transmit the passion, love and energy necessary to make a movie and the happy atmosphere on set. Go watch it! Give it a go :)

I admit I am undecided about stars I would like to give...is this show a 5 or 6 or. 7? I watched the first episode, without reading anything about the story, i liked it and I started watching the others. I enjoyed the first 3 episode. The fourth episode I asked myself "what is it going on here? What are they doing?". Then I kept on watching curious to see where the story would go. Especially what will happen with the monsters. I felt that they added lots of unnecessary scenes. Like expanding and extending and very little actions. Give us more monsters please ! :) As some other people wrote already here, some of the dialogues were bad. I love Sci Fi and monsters and silly theories but at the same time I felt that the story was not well developed, they didn't know how to end and resolve in a cool creative way. Only 10 episodes so, yeah, why not? Give it a go. But do not expect that feeling of "I really saw something very cool I need to tell all my friends!!"

The story feels real, an immigrant coming back home to look after his mother and think about when he was young. The movie is a very well shot. Very good cinematography. The actors are good. You really want to walk in these roads and lanes. Drive a scooter in Naples. Great Casting too, with all the young people.

But I was very disappointed by the end. I found it somehow simplistic and/or rushed. Like "oh the movie is already long enough lets end it here right now". Was that the only direction for the story to go? I was expecting a more "open" ending, where you are actually wondering what is happening to the main characters.

A friend recommended this, I am not into series that have too many episodes. - to me 20 is too many with very very few exceptions - This is only eight episodes so I thought "ok why not", and I was hooked from the first episode. Great story, you really want her to win and finish her job. The abuse scenes are terrible you hope that after these years, this gang feels remorse and regret. But Actually they have none. They are all easy to hate. Maybe a lit too easy. So we all think they deserve to lose a bit of their privilege. Very clever and well made and full of interesting subplots. Good cinematography and music. Now my only complain is, I really want to know what happens next ! ! I Give me season Two Quick Quick !

I saw this movie in January 2022, without reading anything about it, inspired by the movie poster. I was expecting a fantasy, sci fi light happy movie. I ended up enjoying this a lot. The way it is shot, the acting, the story, the soundtrack. I would recommend this to anybody who is looking for something different.

Just finished watching this! You can read about the plot on many other reviews. I can add that it is a good mix of humor and action. The hero has a strong punch. And he punches all the bad guys! No jumping or kickboxing or karate tricks . Good old punch in the face. As somebody else wrote, the kidnapped wife is not very likable, but you can feel he is madly in love with her. I enjoyed the movie. It went superfast. I was never bored.

After seeing the first two episodes, (and enjoying them), I was not expecting the third act to go in this direction. I felt like they run out of ideas and went into this totally different horror fantasy direction. But it seems that the story is simply following the original Manga. So maybe real Fans would have known what to expect but for me I felt like I was watching a different show.
