plain, simple, with very few dialogues, without the intention of justify or explain anything. just a day in the life of some students, narrated in a non-lineal way, with numerous travellings following the boys around the school. these travellings are the film itself: they don´t seem to mean anything. they may seem useless, vain. but they are not. watching this film is a great experience. it´s more a visual experience than a vulgar film. it´s easy to see. but it´s more complex than that. later on, you will find yourself thinking about some scenes in "elephant". some images will stuck into your mind. those travellings along the school, passing doors and corridors, will be all the same if the boy would decide to enter in a different door, or to turn right instead of left? i think i´m getting confused. just go to the cinema and see it for yourself.
comparing to the fellowship, ttt is just trash. there are no characters, no real emotion, and it goes from one thing to the next without a logical order or meaning. i really hope the third part will be more like the first. i really really hope the end will be the same as in the book, and not a possible kiss between aragorn and his elf-lover... ugh...
An adult, realistic, cruel, dark story, like a second part of "les roseaux savages" (the wild reeds), plenty of beauty and sadness, ellipsis and silences, shadows and little sparks of hope. a man searching for a warm companion, a better life, a sincere attitude.
