Karin Viard is a young woman living in Paris. Her parents come from the East of France to visit her. She tries to be kind to them by organizing an evening in a theater or in a restaurant. They try to be helpful in her home but instead prove rather intrusive. How the parents interfere with her private life is shown in a very funny, though subtle, way (as in other Philippe Harel's movies). If you have ever experienced this situation, you'll probably like this movie.
This is a very enjoyable movie although I consider it a bit inferior to Labrune's previous one, "Ca ira mieux demain". There's been obviously much effort spent on writing the dialogues, the humor is mainly based on language, words being taken literally, in a sort of "absurd logic". Sandrine Kiberlain is great, as usual. And don't miss Thierry Mugler's creations for Dominique Blanc !
