Cobra Kai (2018)
THIS.IS.AMAZING.
It takes a lot for a show to impress me these days, especially one on a streaming service. But after watching the first 2 episodes I was hooked. I was 14 when the original movie first came out. I never thought 34 years later something SO GOOD could follow that up. I finished the series in 2 days, I am SO excited for season 2!!
10 stars 100% BADASS!
Lovelace (2013)
Amanda was brilliant
...though honestly, due to it's jumping around in time, it was a bit difficult to follow. Overall, a stunning movie, a real wake-up call to porn of the 70s, taking such bright eyed youth into the seamy underbelly of the entertainment industry, but a more linear narrative might have worked a bit better. I loved Amanda as Linda, she did an amazing job. I just have am easier time watching movies that are less disjointed. Honestly though, I do hope Lovelace wins some awards. It is certainly worthy. Debi Mazar was stellar as always. :) Seriously, ten lines of text? I seriously said all I wanted to in seven. But what the hell, I will keep typing until it accepts my review. Live and learn, right? So they say...
Paradise (2013)
Underrated
I wasn't expecting much from this movie, but I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did it hit home for a friend who was in a similar disfiguring accident, but the characterizations were refreshing and inspired. Bravo to all the main actors, you took me on your journey and I was not disappointed. My only criticism is I would have like to see a bit more of what became of the characters after the events of the movie, or at least Lamb. It shows her tacking up postcards, of her on a plane, her words that she wanted to help people...but was left vague..I would like more details. My friend thinks she blew all her money helping "Amber", I think she had plenty left. An exact dollar amount was never mentioned. "millions" I believe was as close as they came. I think she still had plenty more with which to travel the world. Overall though, I definitely recommend.
