It begins okay when you are thrust into action straight away. But in a few minutes, it gets very lame. The train is hijacked electronically, but no one got any sense to cut electrinicty, in order to stop it.
Too many British shows are just like that. Cold, pale colours, and stress is all they broadcast.
Yes, it took me a whole episode to realise how lame the plot was. But in my defense, I was distracted by playing on my phone at the same time.
There is literally nothing to hold on, as you realise that they just keep you engaged by worry and suspense over nothing. And those lifeless English colours and interactions are not helping.

This is the second version of my comment.
Because only by episode 8 did I realize that it was a mixed gendre of light-hearted romantic comedy and subtle satire of the reformed Judaism. From season one I was amazed at the number of inconsistencies. It took me a while. Only when the rabbi's brother had no idea what a havdalah is, I got the message.
This is a brilliant. First, I thought how Holywood is almost never accurate about religion. With a synagogue like a Protestant church but Jewish. Yet such traditional Jewish characters and a very tight community. I thought I could picture it because I was not American. Wrong religious terms used and odd interpretations...
Anyway, the show is very enjoyable and even sweet. It's refreshing to see a positive and kind Jewish protagonist, once in a while, which so rare in the leftist modern media.
And I seem to enjoy series with Kristen Bell no matter how crazy they are.

Maybe the show makes sense for the locals. But I hardly suffered through the first episode.
It's just disgusting to see those.dumb and undertrained rookies who can't shut their mouths when superiors are talking to them. Who don't obey orders and cannot follow procedures.
I am not a fan of police and governments but it's feels sick to see police acting like cowards without authority when mob curses them and throws bricks at them. Why they even need their guns if they are acting like that and cannot resist another street jerk?
I am surprised by the high reviews. I am not liking any of the main characters. Maybe I need to watch more episodes to start liking the show? How many more?
