I have never laughed so much, it's worth a watch!
31 October 2021
Now, I have read the book but it's been a few years so I can't quite remember what's missing and what's not but with that saying this is a movie you don't want to miss! I laughed so hard it activated my asthma up really bad but it was totally worth it! I cannot wait for more! The humor alone is worth a viewing of this gem! I think this movie might be taking up my number one spot for a the Passionflix movies.

Original Comes from YouTube
25 October 2021
Most of the reviewers don't know that this series comes from Crypt TV channel on YouTube, which has an array of horror anthologies. I'm glad they made it to the big screen as Crypt TV has some of the most original horror short films out there. Instead of being over critical they should check out the YT channel before saying that this series is over "woke" because it's anything but.

I do wish they had chosen from different short films but this one isn't horrible. I say give it five episodes before you there it under the bus.

Night Teeth (2021)
Slightly Above Middle Road
21 October 2021
I'm all for being entertained. And Night Teeth did not disappoint me. I understand that not all people were satisfied with it's prose and narrative but I am not sure what they were expecting given the trailer that basically showed that this isn't a typical vampire movie. It's not something that Stephen King or Anne Rice cooked up. It's a modern take on more than just blood sucking killers. I suppose that some think it's too "woke" but it does give more perspective to the reality that we all live in now. This is basically a story of Rich VS Poor via vampire style including subtle references to politics.

Not The Obsidian Movie Based on A Book
11 October 2021
This movie said it was based off the book that I was looking for. This isn't it!! If you're looking for that one keep on trucking please. While this movie is obviously low budget and someone's passion project, it isn't as bad as you'd think. I've seen way worse. Good attempt.

Cinderella (I) (2021)
Clearly people don't understand satire ...
3 September 2021
This movie embellished on the entire fairytale trope while being complete and utter satire. It's purpose is to show the reality behind such movies. Not that it followed Grimms Fairytale it's not dark, thank Gosh. We have plenty of those to choose from. But it chose certain aspects and characteristics to give power to and show real life problems without being too ornate or glitzy like the fairytales were used to. And yes it did change the storyline but that's the beauty of satire.

Best One of the Three IMO, here's why
16 August 2021
While alot of reviews hated the ending, I loved it because it was rooted in reality. There wasn't some happily ever after drafted in pink gum drops with unicorns flying around with rainbows blowing out their butts. No, it showed the realities of growing up and following your own path while letting go of the childhood and life you once had. I think the people giving this movie a bad review just wanted some teen drama with exact same ending as all other teen drama's: Boring, repetitive drivel that typically sells cause everyone wants the exact opposite of reality.

Give this one a shot if you want something more than the usual bull. 7/10.

Made darker than necessary not for original fans of
4 July 2021
I've read nearly all the R. L. Stone books in my childhood to know that this was barely based on the books. I don't mind darker interpretations but for someone who was expecting something nostalgic it was a huge letdown. It's still entertaining but nothing like the books. The books were comedic horror meant for teenagers whole the show was definitely made for adults more than teenagers. I don't know if that's what they were going for but should've stuck to the books and the now adults who were/are huge fans of the books than catering to the teens for the generations now.

Nancy Drew (2019–2023)
Nancy Drew with a 21sr century spin adding paranormal
28 June 2021
At first I thought this show would be a total rip off of just the name. But I'll give it up to the actress playing Nancy, she really embodies the tenacity that book Nancy had. Sure does this new spin have some issues, of course but anything that isn't the original always will. Nothing is perfect but it is definitely worth giving at least ten episode try before throw it to the trash.

The Leads are fire..
25 April 2021
I haven't read the books so I can't say if the two leads (Mal & Alina) measure up to their book counterparts. But as far as tv leads go, you cannot only see the chemistry but feel it. I haven't felt this much chemistry since watching DeckerStar on Lucifer.

For the plot it is very entertaining, there isn't a droll moment. No filler scenes, each one seems as smooth as the next. There also isn't an over abundance of actions scenes for the show to rely on to move the plot along. What you see is what you get.

I know Netflix has Hit or Miss shows but this is definitely a HIT. I hope this one isn't canceled.

Some reviews are just wrong
24 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I've read review after review of this show blaming the producers and writers for the ending of season five when it was the actors choice to LEAVE THE SHOW. They had no choice but to kill his character off. A recast would've been just stupid. This isn't a soap opera. Now to WHY you should ACTUALLY watch the show.

The show is fantastic since it isn't all gritty, dark and edgy like most shows of the past decade seem to be. This one actually tries to give you reasons for living and having faith while NOT actually trying to shove religion down your throat. Sometimes something light and atmospheric.

Not A Masterpiece but...
20 December 2020
Since I haven't read that Austen book, I can't comment on how closely related is to the source material. But I will say aside from the usual conflicts that you'd expect from a Hallmarkesque movie. It is a whole convoluted mess, but an enjoyable, laughable convoluted mess.

The characters themselves definitely represent the current masses due to modern resources. But that doesn't distract from the undertones of how social media can shape and form our lives, as well as how family can be such an influence on your own views as a individual.

Wren, the heroine of the movie was definitely on the merry-go-round of life circling three men, having a connection with all three of them.

But who to choose?

The ex, the newbie, or the set-up?

Definitely give it a shot but while I say this, it doesn't mean this is a masterpiece. It's not but it is quite funny at times.

I'm Convinced...
2 December 2020
I am convinced the storyline was meant to be a farce. I've seen one other movie similar to this and people seemed to love it. Producers and writers had to make this into a caricature of good Christmas movies as a joke. If I'm wrong then maybe they need to evaluate their careers. Most of the plot and writing was either over the top or bland. There wasn't exactly any middle ground.

The leads are completely dramatic in their own way. Secondary characters do their job with the stigma of being a sidekick. The only saving grace would the son of the lead. And considering he's a kid that might why.

I'll admit when I saw the rating I knew something was amiss. But throw caution to the wind and have a good laugh.

Christmas with the Darlings (2020 TV Movie)
Hallmark Is On A Roll
2 December 2020
So this is second Christmas movie I've watched this year by Hallmark that tis hitting all the marks! Like Five Star Christmas, this one has a phenomenal cast that has tremendous chemistry that you can feel throughout the entire thing. The two leads really support the rest of the cast. It's sweet in a family tidings kind of way. If Hallmark keeps this up it will be a record set for them, one that's been a long time coming! I recommend watching.

Five Star Christmas (2020 TV Movie)
The Humor Alone Is Worth A Watch
30 November 2020
This is what happens when you get actors who have tons of chemistry together. I don't mean just the leads. I mean the ENTIRE CAST. Who is mostly made up of veteran actors. IF only Hallmark would do this with every movie! I am going to praise Bethany Joy as I always do with her movies. She's a godsend of of a actress. She never disappoints me! She could have chemistry with a door handle that's why I am quick to watch whatever she's in. Cast in Victor Webber and you can't go wrong with Five Star Christmas. The plot is new and not overdone. The conflict is fresh without the usual hang-up of another lover. Add in Christmas fun and you'll have a good time. Laughs all around! You won't be disappointed!

Still enjoyable but less than the original
25 November 2020
There are things that you don't do to sequels. One of the main reasons: don't take out a main character or give them less screen time. This would have been as enjoyable and I would have probably given it a higher rate if the brother had more screen time. I'm sure the reason is that he was working on another other Netflix film. Why not wait till he's available then film?

Nothing is worse than seeing one of your favorite character be nixed in a sequel. For the Christmas Chronicles there are three characters you NEVER nix: The brother and sister duo. And of course Santa. Now this one has added Mrs. Claus. So she'd had better be in the next one if Netflix makes it a trilogy.

The storyline was good. It was made so they can branch off from this sequel to make new movies in the future. The acting was good. I was so shocked to see Tyrese in it. Give him a larger role next time. Let him meet the Clauses. That would make for a interesting movie! Goldie and Kurt were still what made the movie roll as smooth as it did.

All in all it was good. Not great as the first one. But still entertaining.

Negative Reviews Are People with NO Imagination
24 November 2020
I went in blind with this movie. I didn't watch the trailer. And I was pleasantly surprised. I love musicals hence my name. I adored some of the songs in the movie. The STORYLINE is EASY to follow if you pay attention. The people giving it negative reviews must be ADHD or just plain miserable and unimaginative. How can you say Felicia Rashad is crappy actor? What about Forrest Whittaker? Come on now. They are film veterans, y'all need to go back to bed and get back in on the right side.

The story essentially is about family and believing in yourself when all hope is lost. The impossible is POSSIBLE if you have faith in your ability. And don't forget to ask for help when you need it the most! How hard is that to follow? Don't listen to the negative people!

Watch it for yourself. Absolutely fantastical and purely for people with hearts!

Dash & Lily (2020)
A Connector Of Feelings and Faith
11 November 2020
I've never read the book but now it's ok my TBR list. When I saw the trailer I knew this would a sweet addition to the YA genre. The main characters due a excellent job or portraying the opposite of each other. A Grinch and a Christmas Enthusiast. The idea that you can convey your feelings through a notebook isn't new but the setting is. And each transaction the two go through to get to the end result is. The push and pull of each to get them to see the others side of life was compelling and sweet but not overly done.

Emma. (2020)
Ignore Bad Reviews, Watch and Form Your Own Opinion
4 November 2020
I have seen all versions of this masterpiece. And I can safely say that this might my favorite so far. It is tied with the BBC miniseries. Why, you ask. For the humor alone. This one is so much more fun than it's predecessors. The acting is fabulous. While it might take creative liberties, it still follows the book. Like the 2008 Pride & Prejudice, it still holds a candle in the Austen world.

I really loved Johnny Flynn's Mr. Knightley more than Jonny Lee Miller's, which is a total surprise because I really love Jonny Lee as an actor. There's something about Johnny's take on this character that really holds true to the book version especially when he chastises Emma. The actress playing Emma grew on me, I was hesitant at first because she didn't seem like someone who could pull off the character but she does.

I'm glad I watched this version because it's not just the actors but the visuals are very appealing and very British as it should be. 8/10

His Dark Materials (2019–2022)
Guessing No One Reads Anymore
2 November 2020
Even though I never read the books, I KNOW this is based off of them. Other reviews suggesting that this is a waste of money and comparing it to The Golden Compass, even they are one and the same except the series is far superior because it can actually delve into the source material. People need to do a little research and quit being lazy before spouting off about something they know nothing about obviously.

I've seen other series get the same treatment because people don't read or do research. So annoying. Anyway the show is great. Yes, the movie only got the tip of the iceberg. The show actually goes deeper into the relationships of characters and their backgrounds. The acting is good. The actors are fantastic. And it is British because it's supposed to be.

Give it three episodes before you throw it away due to crappy reviews giving this show the shaft.

Nancy Drew (2019–2023)
Different but not bad
1 November 2020
I've seen the negative reviews. And while they might have a few points people need to realize that there have already been two Nancy Drew series that have aired. No one really wants to see the same regurgitated material over and over. I like the new changes and modern feel to an old favorite. There's absolutely nothing wrong with having a strong female lead that isn't a virgin or a shrewd. This Nancy still has the same feel as the book Nancy except she's not a kid that has a curfew. But she still stands up for what's right and doesn't stand down when an opponent charges in. I say form you're own opinion before you throw away a series that is just as great as the old ones.

House of the Witch (2017 TV Movie)
No Effort. Formulaic and Repetitive.
15 October 2020
I didn't expect a masterpiece going in and it didn't exceed any expectations that I have of the horror genre. It's formulaic and repetitive of previous movies like it. There was nothing fresh or original that could have been added to set it different from other films. The cast is okay. Nothing special. You have the same idiotic macho college guys and the screaming annoying girls who make the same cliche mistakes. Add in the a little sexual deeds and voila you have House Of the Witch.

I am not sure what producers and film makers are thinking nowawdays. There haven't been many decent horror films in the last decade. It seems to be another full addition to a genre that is steadily going downhill. Bring back decent horror films!

There's a reason Jolene is episode number one
2 October 2020
The entire series is good but the rest didn't compare to Jolene. I guess that was the reason it was episode one at least it seemed to me. When Dolly called it Heartstrings she meant business. She knows how to pull those emotions out and made you think outside the box cue to her movie called Coat of Many Colors. Have tissues handy because if you think Dolly is always smiles and laughter, you're wrong.

While there were a few I felt were hit or miss, it still focuses on the human condition. And why we must always look beyond the surface to see what's truly beneath.

I'm charming to...
29 September 2020
This is another addition to the Cinderella fad that keeps spinning endlessly. Sometimes it's worse than others. This movie felt like it wasn't supposed to be taken seriously. And I didn't from the beginning to the credits rolling.

It's a Christmas addition that I'm not sure worked given when the movie premiered on Netflix. But the leads are hilarious as they try to navigate the script and dialogue. A bit off kilter considering it's predecessors. But it is a comedy of sorts. It's definitely up there with a guilty pleasures viewing that you don't want to admit you like. Watch for a good laugh.

Confused.
29 September 2020
The movie started out fairly well then descended into shots thrown together that seemed to be a bit confusing and all over the place. It was like there was information given but not to the audience. That actors are veterans so the acting is good. The plot isn't new. The title is also confusing because I went into the movie thinking he wasn't dead but either actually lost or he had memory loss due to the accident. Not one of the better movies from Netflix.

365 Days (2020)
NO PLOT. Just sex. Movie follows book series.
29 September 2020
I know why the movie sucked so bad! It is based off of a book series that I actually tried to read after I watched the movie just to see if it was missing something. I couldn't even get past the first chapter, so I skimmed the rest to see if it got better. Sadly, it didn't. The book is via Massimo's POV. If I thought the movie was cringe worthy the books are ten times worse. He sounded like an idiot wrapped in a dumbo suit full of arrogance and stupidity.

The book had hardly have any plot. The movie has NONE. Just sex here. Sex there. Sex everywhere. The only saving grace are actors who are fairly decent given the material. I wish them luck. If you're looking for soft porn you got it.
