Just finished watching this awesome movie. Mind is still numb and some of the scenes are still clobbering the consciousness. A very dark, though provoking, intense and realistic film which one should not miss if you like movies which are near to life. A gem from Muzzafar Ali. Acting is top class and music/songs are divine. Songs such as Seene mein jalan by Suresh Wadkar and Aap ki yaad by Chhaya Ganguli are simply out of this world.
Smita Patil once again gives a performance which will stay with you forever. There are hardly any lines for her, but she conveys the message just by her eyes. Farooq Shaikh also very convincing as a taxi driver who is trying hard to meet the ends but is not able to. You can see his frustration and anger but also his helplessness. Commendable performances by Jalal Agha and Gita Siddharth which are also in tune with the mood of the film. Must watch. 9/10

This is one of the classic Marathi movies that got lost in the crowd. Marathi movies and movie makers have a long history and tradition. The father of Indian Cinema Dadasaheb Phalke came from this rich tradition of Marathi movies and plays. He is considered as a pioneer of Indian cinema and a prestigious Indian film industry award is named after him.
Many Hindi movies were made (remake) based on the story from a Marathi films. The movie Maphicha Sakshidar got release during that period of time when Marathi film industry was churning out good movies and got lost in the crowd of other good movies. However, this is one of the classic movies with excellent acting from all the actors. Rajdutt, one of genuinely talented directors, ably directs a strong storyline that grips your imagination from the start. A must watch film if at all you get hold of it on now almost non-existent VHS tapes. My vote 9/10.

If you like movies with any sense and leave movies like Kal Ho Na Ho and Main Hoon Na for dodos then this is the movie for you. The movie shows the real plight suffered by the people from both side of the border during partition without being biased. There are no chest-thumping dialogues that make your blood boil. But instead it has sensible script that makes you think on whatever happened during partition was it really necessary.
All the cast has put a commendable performances. The director has done a stupendous job first by selecting a topic so volatile and then portraying it in such a beautiful way. Hats off SIR!!!!
Over all a fantastic movie!!!! Rating 9 out of 10.
PS: Here I would like to make a point to the people who make & watch movies like Kal Ho Na Ho, Main Hoon Na, Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. What are you trying to achieve by making & watching eye-candies that don't have any sense. Because of these kind of brainless and baseless movies, good movies like Pinjar goes unnoticed. I think its time for people to decide who deserves more credit Pinjar or Main Hoon Na?????
