The Place Beyond the Pines (2012)
Absolutely Dull
I don't understand everyone's positivr review of this movie. Story was a complete mess, it was super slow, there's ZERO resolution to any parts of the story, and the best Actors in the movie only talk for about 15 minutes. Blah. Don't recommend it and I really hoped it would have been better hearing that Ryan and Eva fell in love making this movie and didn't imagine being parents until they met each other and wanted a family together. But, I didn't find it made much sense or you really had to dig deep into this movie to find it. Title also has nothing to do with the movie whatsoever. Acting was okay, but that's about it.
The Greatest Showman (2017)
Just... WOW
This movie is powerful and full of wonderful messages that we need now more than ever. It is phenomenal and moving. I highly recommend watching this one.
Divergent (2014)
Refreshing.
My review is not based on reading the book but solely on the movie alone. I found the movie very similar to The Hunger Games in the sense that it divides people into groups and focuses on the teenagers. But this movie was 100x better! It had me on the edge of my seat for most of the movie. This movie is inspiring and motivational. It is the type of movie that shows that accepting people for the flaws and their strengths is important and that everyone is different in their own way and that it's okay to be who you are. I think more kids need to see these types of movies and I would recommend it to anyone. P.S. Do not watch this movie before or after The Fault In Our Stars cause it may make things a bit weird haha.
Snow White and the Huntsman (2012)
Disappointing!
I think that Mirror Mirror did a better job. I feel that the movies revolves around Kristen Stewart's "characters". She's weird, shy and I don't find her acting very good. I think because she was in it she took away a good role for Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron. I was disappointed. I wish they would've found someone else to do Snow White because it could have been a pretty good movie. Two thumbs down! I must say though Charlize Theron was killer in this role, she definitely portrayed the Evil Queen very well so I was pleased with that. It was a different kind of role for her I think. Also Chris Hemsworth was just sexy as hell so it was easy to stay focused on the movie.
Underworld: Awakening (2012)
I Don't Agree
The new underworld movie was not what I was expecting. I'm a big fan of the Underworld movies, number 3 is my favourite! Unfortunately, this new movie was lacking in so many different ways. I like the fact that there is a little girl who ends up being Selene's daughter but that's about it. I didn't like the fact that: 1. Scott Speedman wasn't even in the movie. 2. The Lycans and Vampires were still fighting each other. (I was hoping this movie would be about the Lycans and Vampires coming together to battle the humans.) 3. The use of 3D was pointless as usual (I'm not a fan of wearing glasses over my glasses) 4. The movie was lacking a better story. I wasn't kept entertained. 5. I didn't like the idea of a HUGE Lycan without an explanation 6. Selene should have been stronger. I find in this movie she's still weak and she shouldn't be.
