Very Funny, Action...Must Have Sequel!!!
14 January 2025
This is one of the few movies I've actually enjoyed watching Hugh Grant. Ms Plaza was a total joy- I think this was her funniest role to date and possibly her best. (Wishing her well and 🙏 after the recent tragedy). Cary Elwes and Eddie Marsdan are so much better acting in their 'native tongue' so to speak and give their usual Top Notch performances. It would have been nice to see a few more fight scenes with Mr Statham but I guess there's never enough no matter what project he's doing:-(. It was just a such a light-hearted action film that doesn't have a lot of real violence or naughtiness in it but action scenes and beautiful scenery that is reminiscent of a Broccoli film. Pure fun entertainment.

NO MAS PLUTO!!!
21 December 2024
I've really enjoyed this show because I just love Don Cheadle- in anything, he is so talented and so underrated! As is Ms. Bell! But when Pluto TV runs 3 minutes of showtime and then 5 minutes of commercials in the 30-minute show and leaves half the actual production off for the same six or seven commercials... I think I'll just go ahead and go back to paying for streaming on Paramount Plus and Showtime! I can watch free v and peacock with ads and they don't bother me because they're usually less than live TV but this is ridiculous! I've noticed they don't do it on older shows just shows past 2000 in my experience and it's really not fair.

Had To Watch First Season In One Setting!
17 November 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Lovers of the book series may be annoyed at some of the discrepancies at the series from the books. Names have been changed, or pronounced differently, different characters have been added of course, but the series so far has such a great storyline, I think they will grow to love the series and the character Alex Cross himself. All of the cast and crew did a wonderful job recreating the characters and this may be Ryan's best role. Main reason I subscribe to Amazon Prime: quality of shows they produce is just exceptional especially compared to the networks! Seeing new faces and familiar ones - Love Karen Robertson, especially - just another reason they are truly quality programming! Enjoy enjoy enjoy!!!

Best of Wolf...
29 September 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I think I've watched all of Dick Wolf's TV offerings by now. I had to go back and rewatch this one because it aired after the birth of my daughter so who can remember lol! It wasn't marked so... just glad I did! I can honestly say it's the best of the best, for one reason and one reason only! Not because of the acting; all of Wolf films showcase the best of New York and other SAG/AFTRA members. Not because of the always outstanding Scripts. Not because this particular series heavily features lower Manhattan itself. But because of its musical guest stars! Musical Legends such as Gladys Knight, BB King, James Brown, the O'Jays, even Boyz II Men. Too many more to mention! Just such a well done series- and what a way to start a NYC police procedure empire!

SSDD... ALL OVER THE USA FROM ALASKA TO FLORIDA...
1 September 2024
When it comes to Native Americans/ Indigenous women, it isn't their partners murdering them via domestic violence as it is their white, black, and brown sisters. Most of their murders occur by European ancestry White American men, as it has been done for centuries! The federal authorities know this, their state of the authorities know this but who runs these authorities? White American men of European ancestry. It's a lose-lose proposition. It's not lack of resources as much of plain apathy in these cases because we are speaking of smaller municipalities even though there are many square miles they are not populated miles. They are not densely crime ridden miles. They are not so overburdened by crime that they can't take the time to work a case properly. They should be ashamed and the municipalities should be chastised accordingly until they are willing to do what's right for their fellow sisters, their fellow Americans and the federal government should do what's right for their citizens! Please stop killing our sisters no matter what their ethnicity!

THANKS TUBI!! YOU'VE MADE MY DAY +...
23 July 2024
I've been waiting for years to watch the series again because it was one of the last things I shared with my dad who passed at age 32 October of 1966. At 6 years old I remember Judy and Clarence best but knew how much I loved the entire show and had had the DVD collection in my Amazon list for some time but kept hoping it would be on a streaming platform before the kids got to Christmas gift it! So on my new tablet I checked TUBI again and there it was!!! I was absolutely thrilled! Probably one of the best family shows ever made and so education about conservation, animals, and general tolerance for others. It was set in a time in the US of increasing civil rights turmoil in a place that had such huge civil rights violations but these actors showed that all people could work and live together in harmony and in harmony not just with each other but also with their environment. It would be a great show to promote and to rediscover for families even in 2024!

Fun Comedy BBC Studios once again, but...
19 July 2024
As an American, I have to say that I usually criticize American Producers for opting to make their own shows instead of just buying the BBC products since I've pretty much gone through the entire repertoire of Acorn, Brit Box, Hulu, Peacock, Etc., because when it comes to UK TV., I'm a total anglophile! And that includes Canadian, Aussie, and Kiwi programming as well not to mention my Irish heritage! So when I tell you how much I liked this, was thrilled to find the first season on Hoopla, and how I'm hoping desperately that Hoopla will have the rest of the series, please believe my 64-year-old TV addict self! But I almost feel this loyal because for once I actually like the US version better and gave it a 9! (It wasn't just because Carol Kane plays the maternal grandmother either.) Maybe it's because there was more Jewish humor? I don't know but it's a great series either way just a little bit better in my opinion here in the good old USA. But thanks to Tamsin Greig (a personal fave actor) and the rest of the cast and crew because it was very entertaining and I can't wait to see the rest of the series!

84 Years Old! Still The Best of the Best!
1 July 2024
It's your heart out 60-year-old Plus martial artists who are still making films and we all wonder why - you know who! Here's Chuck Norris at 84 still looking good and it's amazing isn't it? Although not in the starring role and obviously not"his" movie it's so great to see him after a few years and the movie itself is entertaining. Decent fights, decent scenery, decent story - what more do you really want? Good guys win over bad guys - gun fights, military stuff; earning really it's a decent mediocre action film. I don't know why it's not even a three - people need to quit beating up hard working actors and writers and give people a break and be more tolerant of other people's talents! A fairly fresh story, some fresh faces, I just don't know what's wrong with this movie I mean these are the same people that will sit happily through so-called celebrity reality and be thoroughly entertained and just a perfectly good action film like this. It just doesn't make sense to me. Give it a chance! And see this wonderful 84 year old man who has given so much to the entertainment business in what could be his last performance.

Really Like Kaufman's Movies!
15 June 2024
I love movies because the good guys always win and that's Entertainment Dallas suspending disbelief and that's all I expect from a movie and I like action movies because they're not realistic! Great gun fights great car chases- it's not real life and that's how it's supposed to be and William Kaufman delivers all that! The stories are relevant to Modern Life, hardcore, good R-rated fair for the mature adult with not a lot of pandering sex scenes that in no way add to the story just to get ratings. Just lots of action and the bad guys getting their due which is why I love action movies. So I was glad to find some of Kaufman's movies on Hulu late night and I've been really enjoying them and I think you will too if this is what you like in a good action film.

JUST DON'T COMPARE TO REAL LIFE MPU!
2 June 2024
So I only started watching on Hulu because I'm at the end of my free month and I've watched everything else besides liking S. Caan a lot (and will try any cop show lol). 7 episodes in I can say it's very entertaining just very unprofessionally portrayed compared to real life. The head of MPU calls everyone 'baby', no comment about all the personal relationship issues, and the personal religious aspects that do not belong in the workplace. But the stories are engaging if not very in-depth on the investigatory level. Which is sad because the writing could be much more involved and should be if One compares to a Dick Wolf show or a BBC or a Southern Star which I find to be the highest quality of police series dramas. I think 1-800 missing was better but it's still worth a watch as the actors are quite good and anything set in Philadelphia is always entertaining to those of us who love the city.

JUST WATCH!!! Couldn't Wait for Last of Season 2!
23 April 2024
I admit to starting this series only because of my love affair with New Mexico and its history, sordid as it may be in parts as is my home born state of Illinois. But my adopted state of 7 years, left in 2001, where I say I left my soul, suffered such hardship and deprivation to humanity and brutality by white men to other humans that never must be forgotten.

I was hoping the series would portray the protagonist as the movie "Chisum" did, a fave of mine, and possibly more sympathetic than history because I want to believe that that's who he really was, a 21-year-old dying way too young and a man made by circumstances not really his choice. I want to believe he had redeeming qualities that history would like us to forget and I think this series shows him that way and does a very good job of it. I liked seeing Linus take over the role of Mr Tunstall, if it must be recast although, historically a bit older than 24 and it was nice to see David C. Again, albeit briefly. But the young man who brought the prequel of 'The Hunger Games' main character to life really has done an excellent job and I cannot wait to see the last four episodes of this season and beyond! Kudos to all the cast and crew of this dynamic series!

Great Fight Scenes! Worth Watching!
31 March 2024
I basically turned in to see Ben and David Z but the fight scenes are really worth watching if you're into that sort of thing which I am. I love how Hollywood makes everything look so real even though one knows it's absolutely hysterically impossible. If it had car chases I would have given it's an eight ;-) But that's all I really want from an action movie lots of fight scenes and action. The plot I would give a C+, the acting a definite B+, but the beautiful landscape of New Mexico,et al,... definitely an A+! I really hope there's a sequel! I'd actually pay to watch a sequel;-) If you like similar movies please give it a try I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I 💜 JESUS...Like Ted & Roma...NOT Impressed!
29 March 2024
I haven't read the books but I wouldn't even look at them if this is a sample of the characters because they're so two-dimensional in this first outing. It is very slow moving even for a family drama and I just couldn't get into it! I watched till the end so I could give it a 7 - my own rules. The cast is fine, I suppose, but the storyline is so blah to me. I hope it gets better as the series goes on. Maybe the fans of the books will enjoy it more? Maybe I'm too much into Dick Wolf's offerings? I really can't wait to see what other people think about it because as an avid Amazon originals watcher this series is leaving me quite disappointed!

MS. MORENO'S EPISODES: BEST OF SERIES!!!
19 March 2024
I have been a Dick Wolf fan for as long as he's been on the air and this is my favorite of all his series, with SVU and Chicago PD running a very close second and third! So second time around and now binge watching, loving even more Ms Moreno's performances as Mrs Goren- what a National Treasure! She and Mr. D'Onofrio had such sweet chemistry and this episode with Mr. Schneider may be the best in the entire series. (Except for no Jamey Sheridan of course. Eric B. Is a fave but not in this role- there is just something about him in this role that does not ring true for me at least and it doesn't get better after an entire season I'm sad to say.) I can't say enough about Ms. Erbe too, because she is always just such a talent and I'm thrilled that I found her adolescent show with Jackie Mason online recently ("Chicken Soup") Because I think Now I've seen the balance of her and Mr. D'Onofrio's work. My favorite partners and just a few short seasons to go- this is the series that ended way too soon! A much belated thanks to all cast and crew and everyone who made this series such a joy to watch!

QUIT BASING MOVIE REVIEWS ON BOOKS!!!
12 March 2024
Just because you're a fan of a particular book series or animated series doesn't mean you have to knock the movie that was based on, I. E., based on- not an exact copy of- said source material. Sometimes it's not possible because of copyright issues. Sometimes higher powers won't allow directors to do what they feel the movie needs to be due to the producers and Studios ever ending need to put profit before all else including artistic and creative abilities. Which is what I feel happened here and believe me I have never seen anything to do or Heard anything about these characters before I watched this (and look at how many years I waited; it's March 11, 2024, on Paramount- nothing new!!!) Why can't people praise the actors for their ability and the writers for their own ability and not get into the minutiae about will this character wouldn't do that in the book or this character wouldn't do that in the book? And believe me I'm all for keeping to the writing material- no one criticized the casting of Tom Reacher in the movies as much as I did! But on its own this movie is well worth watching; I would have given it an eight if Dev Patel had gotten his part first!

Beautiful Views, Funny Characters, Good Plots!
9 March 2024
To put this show in context for American viewers, Rocco is a highly placed FBI agent working in DC, (well, the best assignment in the best climate for Italy anyway), commits a shall we say, lapse in judgment at work, and is relegated to the furthest Alaskan office! This man is intelligent, though an addicted smoker and not only to tobacco, and despises winter weather. He has inherited The Three Stooges as police officers on his team and treats them as Sarge does Beetle. But the views of the Italian Alps are practically worth watching the entire shows! The plots are very good and are well worth watching the subtitles; the acting is very well done. I'm not a fan of having to watch subtitles because I really can't sit still anymore and just watch the screen so if I tell you, police procedure loving shows on the small screen friends, that the show is well worth watching, please believe me that it is!

Extremely Fresh Storyline!!!
3 March 2024
After 25 years, the writing team of this series continues to impress me because there are so few repeats of storylines even though there could be. This particular situation was such a fresh and extremely interesting experience. Especially since it turned out there was a much closer large city that the storyline could have been set in, besides New York, that would have worked and made much more sense but of course could not have been used for a Law and Order show. But the writers gave credence to the premise that it should be set in New York, which made it believable to me, at least. Of course, the cast and crew were up to the usual high standards and with Ms. Jordana Spiro now joining, I believe the current season will continue with the best of Mr. Wolf's L&O leading NBC's ratings. Thank you very much!

What About Treason?
19 February 2024
Really liked this series but then again I will give anything Suranne, Rose, Martin, Shaun, Gary, and Adam are in, I will give a try! But what I don't understand is why the word treason is never mentioned. If someone had been messing about in the US Navy as they had done in the UK Navy here, certainly it would be a treasonous offense, I should think so wouldn't the CPS be charging whomever accordingly? Not just giving the perpetrator a murder charge or whatever but wouldn't it be treason also because they were not only a citizen but also serving in the military. Other than that it's a great story and it's nice to see everyone stretching their abilities by taking on a bit different roles except dear Suranne, of course, because she's most always a copper, LOL. The submarine scenes were very realistic because I could feel the claustrophobia a fact wafting its way through me so even though I know they're on a stage if it's done really well as here I will still feel that so kudos to all and I can't wait for series two!!!

What Happened To Real Life Evidence???
18 February 2024
First of all, I think having Reid Scott replace Jeffery Donovan is awesome as I've never cared for Jeffrey Donovan for some reason not even in Burn Notice. I don't know why he's an okay actor he just is that okay. But I think Riley and Shaw are working well together. But as with the case of 'Celeste'- where are the autopsy results in these episodes? With 'Celeste', the autopsy result would have noted if she had had intercourse or not so that would have diluted the defense's notion that they had intercourse together. And in this case, the autopsy results would have diluted the defense's take on their notion of what happened that night. In prior seasons, if memory serves, as in real life, autopsy results have been mentioned and have strengthened the prosecutor's case so, what the heck?

Interesting Look at #10 Downing St.; Entire View
5 February 2024
I started this when it first came out; I had just marked number one so I thought I wasn't interested but I couldn't sleep last night so I thought I would give it a try again. Come to find out, I had watched the first three and here's where I ended back in 2020. So started this one today, where 500k+ Californias are now without power, etc., from a natural disaster. I'm sure they're handling it better than the Brits in this scenario. In fact that's what I kept wondering through the whole show- what was going on in the rest of the world? We in the US have suffered through winter outages and hurricane shortages, etc., etc., and things never looked this bleak! If it were true to life is it because of the Brit's socialism?

Robert Carlisle is such a good actor and the rest of the cast is quite up to his standard as well. The writing is above average but not one of the best coming out of SKY. Certainly not up to "West Wing's" first six but I'm glad I've waited because now I have more to view and to see the side of the British government in action. I think it's probably very true to life because we have to remember their social and 'class' structure differences than ours but the similarities are rather interesting if not humorous. Politicians be politicians ;-)

Very Subtle Comedy But Worth Watching!
5 February 2024
I'm still trying to figure out how anybody could compare this show to Married With Children and I say that as someone who watched every scene at least three times! It remains the gold standard as my absolute favorite sitcom- (with MASH being my absolute favorite show). I'll watch anything once if it's about spies, crime, or medicine. I gave this a chance and I'm really enjoying this especially this third installation with great guest stars, Sharon Horgan and Billy Campbell, two of my favorites. So I don't know what all the negativities about, it's quite entertaining. It's definitely not as serious as Citadel and it's not as showy as the IMF but give it a chance and forget about the previous incarnations and with an open mind you might actually enjoy it!

JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER!!!
13 January 2024
This is Reacher the way it was meant to be seen on the screen! Long awaited second season is here; I'm watching it all today and so thrilled! It is great to see Serinda Swan, Domenick Lombardozzi, and Robert Patrick, et al, joining the cast this season! The two books this season is based on are two of my favorites. If the rest of the episodes are as compelling as this one, I think it will be even better than the first season and hopefully we'll continue a very long run, hopefully through all of the books. Keeping true to the spirit of the books is very important to me when using copyrighted material as fodder for the screen. I just despise when copyrighted material is trashed just so a director or producer can use it to make their own vision- they should write their own material then! So far though this series has been so much better than any of the movies produced from Lee Child's books.

Only 10 Min In... Disappointed So Far!
1 January 2024
HARLAN!!! MYRON NEVER HAD A SISTER!!! I hate when copyrighted material is messed with! (Even by its author ;) I will give it a chance of course; it seems to be a continuation on the last Myron Bolitar book. Love seeing Didi Conn again, albeit briefly. Myron is just one of my fave fiction folk so disappointed so far! Hope the music and basketball scenes get better. I don't understand how the supernatural goes with the New Jersey/ Florida Bolitars that I have come to know and love ( what must ElAl be doing ;), but maybe it'll make for an interesting story later on. It just makes no sense to have Myron's nephew with no Myron!

16 Seasons...The Most UN-True to Life!!!
23 July 2023
Seriously? The most senior b a u agent put himself in a position like this? On purpose? I have a hard time believing, after knowing this man for 16 seasons that this would actually happen. I was excited that they brought back the show, even though there's so many other good books that could have been developed into great series. And I'm being generous with the eight rating because I dearly love these actors and their characters. Watching Zach grow into such a sophisticated actor alone has been a blessing since Friday Night Lights but this episode just ticks me off. I'll finish this season but come on folks! This series has usually been more true to life than most FBI portrayals but not this episode!

Why Can't They Just Follow the Books?!
23 July 2023
Although this season is still good TV, it's not as good as the first season because of one major change: they didn't follow Mr. Box's books! The first season was pretty faithful to his first book and this season is trying to incorporate two or three together and is sadly failing in my opinion. This is the trouble I have when copyrighted material is taken from book form to screen form. Why didn't the producers just take the second book and use that story in it's full form for a few episodes and then go to the third book, etc., instead of messing about and confusing everything, making the characters not be who they were originally supposed to be!? For those of us who fell in love with the original characters, it just annoys us, I think-at least it does me! I think it dilutes the action as well. But I still am rating it high because the actors and the storytelling are still fairly enjoyable and are close to my heart. But for season 3 could we get back to the book stories?!
