Profane but not in speech.
29 April 2024
My favorite Year is profane the film is bad. In a genre of comedy. Laughter rarely takes place. It formulaic and predictable. The casting is replete with characters. But the star is Peter O'Toole.

A film made in 1982. Suffers from the 1970's ideas.

The worst drama I've ever seen or reviewed is Carbon Copy. "My Favorite Year " is the comedy genre of this film.

A film that tries to reinvent "Singing in the Rain". Has failed.

I've seen many who like this film. But My Favorite Year is an assault onto the senses. Watching it hurt. Listening to it was painful. Happily this film wasn't a stratch and sniff picture. Because the odor was barnyard unpleasant.

Silverado (1985)
10/10
1985 Western
30 November 2023
1985 was a great year, for the return of the western. Two westerns were made that year. Both filmsexposed a young sci-fi audience to the western genre. One of the films is Silverado. The other film is Pale Rider.

Silverado deemed a disappointment at the box office. The films influence continued even after filming ended. Cast members continued to work on projects together. The Genre, continues to flourish today on the small screen, and silver screen.

Kevin Costner, received this role as an aside for being cut out of "The Big Chill ". Then in turn had string of hit Westerns, from the Oscar winning "Dances with Wolves" to "Open Range" on the silver screen. Costner recently won an Emmy for the hit tv series "Yellowstone ".

Silverado, is listed by fans along with Tombstone as westerns that influenced them.

It's not the Original but it's close
10 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
WOW, I saw the original on the big screen just after High school graduation. Now the sequel is out. Kids are talking about this being better than the original.

It's got action. The new Top Gun has Heart and some laughs. But better than original. Naw.

It's got the proverbial beach scene. The flying is incredible.

Here's a Spoiler: I have absolutely no military training. But I kept asking myself constantly couldn't this mission have been accomplished easier with either cruise missiles or the SEALS taking out the SAM sites.

But the film overcame this small defect. The cast was full of veteran actors and young talent.

Lights, Camera, Romance (2021 TV Movie)

I watched it
8 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Uhm, yeah. What do I say. When you know a movie is a low budget endeavor going in. Your expectations should be modified. The movie is being shown on a family network as well. Anyone expecting an exact adaptation of the novel. Restrain yourself.

The movie is full of young actors trying to use this as their stepping stones. To their big break. There are some good performances. Then faces you've seen before. Chelsea Hightower, formerly of Dancing with the Stars makes an appearance. She adds a believable role as a dance studio instructor. Who's a friend to the lead actress.

The entire movie circles around the lead actress and her problems.

Would I watch it again? Maybe, but with so many other show's. I'm sure I could find something else. Other than this movie.

Yikes!
6 March 2023
I've heard about this film since I was a child. At times even seen it in pieces. But finally I found the time to see it from beginning to end.

Sincerely, I hope the book is better than the film. I'm not giving away anything telling you that the film stars Robert Redford. As a World War II Naval officer. The Lead Actress is Barbara Streisand. She's a Communist, war protester.

The film won several Oscar's for Song and music.

Usually, when watching a film. I tell myself put your mind in neutral and go with it. But this time I couldn't get over the feeling of.... Thank Goodness this marathon is over.

Stagecoach (1986 TV Movie)

The Highwaymen greater than Bing
6 August 2022
This version of Stagecoach is a lesser version of 1939 John Ford classic. But greater than the 60's remake starring Bing Crosby and Anne-Margret.

The Highwaymen and few other stars. Took a shot at actually acting. Now they didn't quit their day jobs. But Kris and Willie did have silver screen experience. This doesn't make this made for TV movie any worse. If you have time to kill and are fans of the Waylon, Willie, Kris or Johnny.

Warlock (1959)

Warlock/Tombstone
26 July 2022
Very similar to Tombstone. At times it seemed almost too ironically similar. Both films are quite good. Fonda and Quinn both lad the cast. While Widmark, answers there effort effectively. Malone enters the film late but gives a dazzling performance. The fictional Warlock reminds the movie goer of any western town.

This film is very well done.

It's the Duke!
17 July 2022
So, Duke and the crew didn't speak German. It's an American production for an English speaking audience. The Sea Chase is one of John Wayne's lesser known films. It's full of character actors who give memorable performances.

Thor's love & thunder review
8 July 2022
Did you ever get stuck on the cloverleaf thinking how do I get off this thing? Then you do exit eventually. Only to find yourself going the wrong direction. Welcome to the latest Thor. It had all the potential of any film to succeed. Major studios backing strong leading man, an Oscar award winning leading lady a returning cast with new stars for marvel to introduce for upcoming films. Then the details a script with a plot.... And that's where we can't get off the cloverleaf. It's a mess. What was I watching? Pick a genre sci/fi, action, horror, comedy, drama. Which plot lines they trying to tie down its a mess. At times it just felt like a long Molly Hatchet video a big riff and case of heart burn. While trying to find any exit.

For the positives, the actors and effects saved an sci/fi multi genre action film. The classic rock music soundtrack eases the ride.

Oh there's an exit.

This is the movie I use has my bottom of the bucket worst film ever made.
10 May 2022
This was Denzel Washington introduction film. Other than that skip it.

Carbon Copy is the film I list at the top, when asked my worst film of all time.

It's full of racism even for it's time of release. Jokes which won't land.

The film had a talented cast but it fell flat.

Eternals (2021)

Eternals was eternally long
13 January 2022
Marvel's next adaptation of comics to film, is ETERNALS. Too be kind there is enough material in this film alone for several films. But the information we were given in this script wasn't done well. Each character had to have their own storyline beginning. Then the writers had to quickly finish the the film and bring it to an end.

The film is shot well, actors are on par. But if you are expecting Avengers or Guardians ETERNALS isn't on there level.

A Rare date film
14 May 2021
Don't mind what you here. Finding You. Is a RARE date film. Something that's difficult to find these days. In a market filled with Special Effects and children's animation. Finding You is refreshing. Get some popcorn your favorite drink or someone. Then make a night of it.
