This show brings the quality to be expected from HBO in a platform aimed at toddlers. My 3 year old loves this show.
It's about the odd duo of Esme, a human girl, and Roy, an adult monster, who babysit little monsters together in each episode. Each episode brings new babysitting challenges for the pair which they have to solve using creativity and care. Often this involves creating a game or song to get the little monster to eat their dinner/get ready for bed or other common challenges that babysitters face with children they are tasked with watching for a brief period.
The characters on this show are fun and unique and the animation is pleasant and entertaining. Esme is the more responsible of the babysitting pair and she often calms the little monsters down when they get frustrated or sad and comes up with the solution to the problems that arise. Meanwhile Roy is the fun loving goofball who entertains the little monsters and tends to follow Esmes lead, sometimes coming up with solutions without realizing it until Esme points this out. With this dynamic Esme is a good example for toddlers watching the show while Roy provides the entertainment aspect, keeping it lighthearted and fun.
