Spadek (2024)
A real treat for fans of this type of movie
Even though I watched Spadek (Inheritance) dubbed in English with voice overs, it was still really good-a real treat for fans of this type of movie.
The story was intriguing and kept me engaged from start to finish. The visuals were beautiful, with stunning cinematography. The performances were also noteworthy, with each actor bringing a unique flair to their character. The ending was surprising and delivered a great message.
Overall, Spadek (Inheritance) is a film that deserves more recognition. Whether you're in the mood for a laugh or a puzzle to solve, this movie delivers on both fronts. It's a perfect choice for a relaxing movie night.
I highly recommend giving it a chance-you might just find yourself pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed watching it and wish there were more movies like this.
7 donne e un mistero (2021)
Excellent!
I've seen this story in French and English movies also, but I was delighted by this Italian version - and shocked by the low rating.
The acting is great, the storyline is captivating and the scenery is wonderful!
It's a jewel of a movie, and Agatha Christie whodunit fans, as well as people who love the comedy crime genre, atmospheric & eye candy movies, will love it.
It's still pretty new so I hope it will gain the attention of the right people in the months to come, who will correct this misguiding rating.
For people who enjoyed the movie and left a 5/10 review: I'm not sure you know how reviews work.
And Just Like That...: When in Rome (2021)
Best one so far
Watching this episode really felt like watching the old Sex and the city again. I would watch anything SATC related, I'm a fan, but this is the best thing I;ve watched with the "girls" since the original series ended. Welcome back!
Miss Scarlet & the Duke (2020)
Great series!
As a fan of both detective shows and the Victorian times this was a delight for me to watch. The atmosphere an the quality of the image are stunning! I hope there will be more seasons.
A Bad Moms Christmas (2017)
Relaxing, fun, perfect for Christmas
I've heard the movie was good so I ignored the current ratings and gave it a chance, and it proved to be such a good idea. It's a comedy worth seeing this Christmas, especially by moms, always fighting with the need to have the have the perfect holidays celebrations, but not only. My boyfriend's rating would also by close to mines, and as I said before I heard only good opinions about it before seeing it. Not sure what's going on with IMDb ratings lately. "Mother" which was terribly bad has an excellent rating, while this perfectly good comedy is rated so low.. Go see it for yourself, and Merry Christmas!
Mother! (2017)
Never seen more disappointed cinema goers
This is a review I hope no one that was involved in the making of this film will see because I have nothing good to say about it, but that I hope many thinking of going to watch the movie will see, because the rating is very deceiving.
In fact the only two reasons I can think of at this point for such a high rating are either fake / paid ratings, or a massive online prank.
My expectations weren't that high, after seeing latest Jennifer's movies, but I didn't expect Mother to be so dreadfully bad either. I kept hoping that it would get better, that it would have substance or a clever twist. Unfortunately, it got even worse. And if we weren't too tired to leave, after a long day, we would have.
I've recently seen The Square, which I didn't like that much either, but comparing it to Mother it was an artwork, it had substance and it had a story you could enjoy following, despite many scenes being quite uncomfortable to watch.
Why am I bringing up The Square in this review? Because the worst part in The Square, the big flop in it (those who watched it know what I mean), has many in common with Mother's most shocking scene. And it's pointing at what is wrong with Mother.
These movies where usually well-rated actors gather only to fail in delivering a good work are the most dangerous. Are Michelle Pfeiffer, Javier Bardem or Jennifer Lawrence actors whose movies are worth seeing? Jennifer is almost becoming a don't watch this warning sign, at least for me and my friends.
One of us will have to learn the director's name also so we can avoid it's work also.
Naked (2017)
Excellent!
My boyfriend and I watched it together and had a really good laugh. He'd give it an 8, I'd give it a 10 for it's genre, so 9 it is.
It was really great, from the beginning to the end. Surprising twist and turns, good acting, directing, nice message.
It doesn't have that much in common with Groundhog Day, and if you just expect a comedy and a feel good movie you'll love it.
Wish there were more movies like it!
Wonder Woman (2017)
Yes, finally!
Wish I had this kind of movies to watch growing up, and by this kind I mean with powerful leading women. Can't remember the last time (if ever) I saw so many women in one movie, strong, courageous, fighting! Such unusual wonderful scenes.
Of course I would of loved more body diversity, less cringy "funny" moments, some pants instead of the mini skirt, but hey, it's a heroes movie, the character was supposed to look a certain way so it get's a pass.
But it was much more then I expected and I am happy and grateful for this kind of rare movies.
Kiki, el amor se hace (2016)
Entertaining, hilarious
A very pleasurable comedy about love, sex and fetishes, in the life of several couples and other characters from Madrid, whom each have some problems to face in this area.
The humor comes from the weirdness of some situations - without saying too much I can only say you shouldn't expect the regular love and sex stories - and of course the actors playing their roles incredibly good.
I've personally enjoyed seeing protagonists of all age ranges and social classes, and the diversity does not stop here. I've seen the movie in cinema and on my way out I heard only positive opinions, too bad they are not written here also.
If you're considering watching it and feel like you could use a good laugh it's definitely a very good option.
Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)
Disgusting
Besides being full of clichés, I find this film to be sexist and encouraging of prostitution. If it were just a movie about BDSM I would of been OK with it, if it were just a romantic move I would of been OK with it. But promoting this poor girl - rich boy romantic story is getting really old, really fast. As a society we are starting to realize the damaging effects stories like Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast have upon our kids ideals and their ambitions in life. This film is nothing but worse. Cinderella goes for Prince Charming, the Beauty goes for the Beast with Money, and the female protagonist of this film goes for a rich man that would also like to whip her from time to time. What's next? - I don't even want to imagine.
