This film combines beautiful imagery with stories of women who have not been heard and harassed as they try and make their way in a tough profession traditionally dominated by men. The filmmakers dig into their stories and tell the harsh realities of sexism that unfortunately runs as rampant as the fires they're fighting.
A great film that has a powerful message about the harsh world of domestic abuse. Written over the course of an adopted young woman's life, she experiences first hand the emotional and physical abuse by her significant other while her foster parents try and save her. The filmmakers capture this message without being too preachy or heavy handed. The entire cast does a fantastic job of portraying the range of emotions that can occur in a domestic abuse situation. This film has done very well at numerous prestigious and local film festivals and having seen the film more than once myself, I can attest to the fact that those awards are deserved. Well written and directed, Begin Again is a film that is meant to be shared.
