Recently, I watched Disclaimer on Apple TV, and I came away feeling quite disappointed. While I understand that the series is based on a novel, the execution on screen left a lot to be desired. One of the most frustrating aspects was the way many of the characters were written and the decisions they made throughout the series. These choices not only felt unrealistic at times but also made it difficult to stay engaged with the story. Instead of building a narrative that draws viewers in, the characters' actions often seemed forced or poorly motivated, pulling me out of the experience entirely.
For a series that clearly had a promising premise and high production values, I expected much stronger character development and a more coherent storyline. Unfortunately, the flaws in the characters' decision-making made the plot feel contrived and even unwatchable at points. It felt like the writers prioritized shock value or unnecessary twists over logical and meaningful storytelling. Overall, Disclaimer had potential, but it fell flat due to its inability to make me care about its characters or their journeys.

"Wicked," directed by Jon M. Chu and featuring an impressive cast with Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Galinda, offers a visually stunning experience filled with dynamic choreography, inventive set designs, and impressive visual effects. However, despite these strengths, the film feels bloated and struggling to maintain engagement throughout its lengthy runtime.
As a fan of musicals, I found myself longing for the emotional depth and infectious energy that defined hits like "Frozen" and "The Greatest Showman." While "Wicked" includes some memorable numbers, several songs seem to lack the spark and excitement needed to resonate with the audience. It's unfortunate that what could have been a thrilling adaptation instead dwells in a monotonous stretch, leaving me feeling more fatigued than captivated.
Despite its dazzling aesthetics and the undeniable talent of Erivo and Grande, I found the film ultimately falls short of its musical peers. It's possible that I'm in the minority with these opinions, but for a production with such high expectations, "Wicked" seems to miss the mark in delivering a consistently engaging and thrilling musical experience.
