This is Will Cowan's third 3D short (after NAT 'KING' COLE WITH RUSS MORGAN'S ORCHESTRA and HAWAIIAN NIGHTS), and is the runt of the litter.
Basically it's a nightclub show, and yes, rather boring by today's standards (shot July 1953).
It could be edited to half the length.
However, it has finally been seen by a modern audience at the WORLD 3-D FILM EXPO 2 (11 SEP 06 and may not have been originally seen in 3D) and was applauded by the 3D fans, though obviously not with overwhelming enthusiasm.
The 3D cinematography (Irving Glassberg) was 100% up to Universal's high standard, and the print (brand new for the EXPO) was excellent.
Just a filler, as all shorts were, but a solid example of high quality stereoscopic motion pictures.

EVERYBODY'S a critic.
This film, heretofore "lost," finally has been seen on a theater screen in 3D. And while some apparently HATE Pinky Lee (a cross between a poor man's Pee-wee Herman and any number of Vaudvillian solo's of the era) and (per a previous post) this film, just ask the audience that saw it. In MANY of the scenes the audience laughed mighty well for what has been said to be a BORING waste of time.
Nevertheless, this short won't win any awards, but was entertaining to the majority who saw it, and was talked about with smiling faces by the majority of the audience.
Fact is, most of the Universal shorts of the period were cheap and less-than-stellar. This was one way they could try out new starlets and allow their cameramen to learn the new 3D medium before starting features.
The 3D FILM EXPO is not a critical forum. Our finding the elements of this and getting the new prints made (and made RIGHT) and showing it to a LARGELY grateful audience is our continuing goal, and we are ecstatic at the positive response. The history and legacy of 3D has gained from this virtually unknown short as the 3D aspect is excellent in all respects.
Too bad people can't either keep overly negative or biased comments to themselves or just chill and enjoy the moment.

The real running time was 80 minutes. This was the first widely distributed, true hard core 3D feature. It was the 4th highest grossing run at the LA Pussycat Theaters (after DEEP THROAT, SEXUAL FREEDOM IN DENMARK, and SEXUAL FREEDOM NOW). Home video release 1985 (2-D).
Filmed with a unique camera that for the first time allowed amazing mobility, and therefore allowed considerable creative freedom.
THE STEWARDESSES promised sex in 3D, THE STARLETS delivered. AL Goldstein said "It was so real I thought I was cheating on my wife."
A milder (R by today's standard) short EXPERIMENTS IN LOVE (1976, 28 min) was produced to co-bill. Had MANY, MANY 3D gags.
A video (2-D) sequel CHASTITY AND THE STARLETS was produced in 1985.
