I have watched every Munki and Trunk episode since the first release, so I have been waiting for this movie for ever. It did not let me down. Watch this and any other movie will make you cry with anger about how bad it is. Jungle Beat: The Movie is the best piece of film history I have ever seen.
This film has a great mix of humor, drama, and morals. It teaches with metaphors about subjects like British Imperialism in Africa (Fneep has a English accent and came to conquer the planet). Speaking of Fneep, his voice actor Ed Kear's performance was phenominal. I have not seen better acting since Philippe Bozo's performance as Maurice in Les as de la Jungle. Kear is definitely the most underated actor of all time, he put such passion into playing Fneep. There is also a surprising amount of social commentary; about how some people who want more power and land are able to be changed, albeit the way this happened in the film was a bit unrealistic.
Of course, a movie with this level of production does not come without flaws however. The main downside of the movie was the outrageously stupid subplot with the baby ostrich who was the most obnoxious character by far. (mama ostrich follows closely). The pros of this film outweigh the cons though, and many other great characters like Munki (who is way better than Trunk by the way), Fneep (with Ed Kear acting, how could he not be a great character?), Rockford "Rocky" Haberdashery Pleasant the Third (who was a great comedic relief from the serious topics discussed, Tallbert (who wasn't in this movie as much as I would have liked), Humph, Ribbert, and the wildebeests. Grogon also played a great and intimidating villain.
Overall I would rate this film a solid 12/10 however that is impossible so 10 will do.
