Dance, animation and a pretty accurate usage of the words from the book.
The dance is elegant, delicate, wonderfully lit and excellently filmed....like watching a ballet on stage.
The narration and voices of the characters is thoughtful and engaging.
Set on an imaginary stage in a family house with the matriarch narrating the story, the performance takes the audience into the house/set built by the children in the opening scene. And from there, the detailing begins.
It's not a busy production. For that, watch the Disney one or The Muppets...But if you want a more authentic feeling production, as if enjoying a production in a musty Victorian theatre, then this is simply gorgeous.

For an indie Film on a tiny budget, it's good. If you watch Spitfire Over Berlin knowing this and put away wannabe big budget critical eyes, and you have a watchable film. Do not expect top-dollar effects. Suspend your need for photorealistic effects and watch it for what it is - a film made by passionate indie film makers with conviction in their product.
Nearly directed and written, there are some inaccuracies, some of which could have been sorted out, but that doesn't really matter in my opinion. It is a watchable movie that entertains more than it does educate.
Top marks to the producers, cast and crew for following their passion.

Loved this on Netflix this evening.
Superb observation of how society tends to be ignorant towards science and more concerned with superficial things that in the great scheme of things are neither of much wider benefit, interest or importance to anyone other than the individual.
A painfully good satire that cuts close to bone with the obvious parodies of recent people in power and more recent global crises, not to mention the sideswipe on the population's general ignorance.
Worth a watch and an uncomfortable giggle.
