Nothing to rave about here, but okay to kill some time with. You can't help being amused at a movie that's supposed to be taking place in the future, which is now the past, but where people took very much like the present of the time that the movie was made! (In other words, 1960's hairstyles in what's supposed to be the 1980's.) Oh well, that can be overlooked.
With the predicament our hero gets in, I'm guessing this movie was the inspiration for the TV series "Land of the Giants", though it happened in reverse. Anyway, I liked the interesting explanation the inhabitants of that planet gave for his becoming miniature.
There's some romance thrown in (a triangle that becomes a quadrangle, that becomes two couples, with only one getting a happy ending), as well as a ridiculous creature who kidnaps the pretty mute girl and causes her to regain the use of her vocal cords.
I like the poignancy at the end, where our hero knows his adventures won't be believed, that they'll be considered the result of an injury, or a hallucination. Sad, but true.
Something to watch when you have time on your hands, and want some light entertainment.

At the time of its release, the world seemed to fall in love with both Leo and Kate, therefore any movie they made was a masterpiece. And while I can't fault their acting, or all the work that went into this recreation of the 1912 disaster, I'll have to say that the story itself is pretty shallow.
True love, my butt! You have a spoiled, entitled society girl, who's engaged to a wealthy, good looking g guy who adores her, and yet she has the colossal gall to compare her situation to enslaved people, and speak of the Titanic as her "slave ship". WTF!!!!! I'm surprised every PC SJW didn't get all up in arms about that remark! I think that was AWFUL!!! How come cancel culture never cancelled that????
Also, this is a movie about infidelity, and disrespect. As she (finally) reaches the end of her life, Rose should be thinking about the man she married and raised a family with, not the guy she knew a couple of days aboard ship, that she wasted no time getting naked with (so much for her proper upbringing) and who, had he lived, she would NEVER have been happy with, despite the romantic "soulmate" idea, that in the modern world is a real joke.
Watch a documentary on the ship instead, you'll learn more and skip the nonsense.

I liked the way this movie used the science and tech from its time to fight the invader saucers, as well as the aliens (in the unattractive suits) that walked among them. It was also interesting about the voice transmission, the time/space thing and how the countries all band together to fight the space menace. However, more should have been explained about what had happened to that doomed solar system, why those aliens survived and managed to get away while everyone else was destroyed and - more to the point - why they didn't just ask for help from earth rather than demand it go into attack mode.
And why did so much great architecture have to be ruined? And why did the hero's father-in-law have to be sacrificed?
It was okay, but there was room for improvement,
