Armageddon (1998)
Cheesy
If one would have asked me 5-6 years ago, I would have said that, this was one of my favorite movies. And after watching for 4-5 times some time ago. I still had the thought that this movie was awesome. Well 5 years and one bored Sunday later I realized, how cheesy this movie was. I mean everything in this movie seems like a bad Superhero movie. Like Steve Bushemi is Genius (2 MIT degree at 22)who works as a Oilrig worker, who is too horny for everything that looks and smells nice.
Ben Affleck who is a total tool is the best rigworker... well been there done that.
I mean every dialogue was also so very cheesy.... From the comic book looks to the impossible coincidences. Like the lost ARMADILLO (drilling machine) finding the way to the 2nd DRILLERS, after landing at the wrong spot on the Meteor.
Cmon man, everything was not only cliché but also childish. If your looking for some mindless fun along with a punch of emotions, go ahead.
Or else you can do better. The best part of the movie is - Aerosmith's song.
Gunaah (2002)
10 things better to do
This whole movie itself was a GUNAAH... take my advice if your thinking of seeing this movie
1) Watch TV 2) Make out with your partner 3) Or Hire a hooker 4) Go out partying 5) Play Video Games 6) Complete your office work 7) Post comments on IMDb 8) Workout 9) Learn Tai Chi 10)Help Animals
See there are so many good and better things to do... than WATCH THIS MOVIE. Bips you are an item girl, stick to it. Dino am sorry that you lost Bips, but you should feel sorry for the audience too. Who sat through this EPIC BORE and mindless junk... . . . . Dino be a model, your good at that....
Mass (2004)
Epic MASS .. Oh I mean MESS
What was that, ...... a Plane? a Bird? or just another crappy South India movie that just doesn't make any sense...
1st of all, why does Nagarjuna keeps repeating (in Hindi) that he is only the real MARD (MAN).. and then blah blah blah, I mean the guy is so full of gas, he just may fly away.
And which girl in her right mind would fall for a guy, who is so full of himself. Cmon now.. making Typhoons with their legs. I can understand the exaggeration by Kung-Fu movies, but this is ridiculous. The Chinese at least have a base. Show the same stuff with Kalaripattyu and I can understand, but a person who is as strong as Lord Hanumana himself. This is just an utter piece of crap I have no idea how this even got 6+ starts
Don (2007)
Doesn't he know how to READ
I mean who writes these scripts??? And in Southern parts they pray to these people? What are they illiterate or just plain MORONS... There are many good South Indian people who can be looked upon as leaders and idols. (I don't mean Politicians)... But instead of that they chose to make temples of these actors???? That is an epic shock...
Doesn't people even see the mind boggling exaggeration ?
No story, acting is the 2nd or 3rd important thing, fat girls dancing around.. I mean GAWD please help the viewers Its better to spend this money on poor and hungry people and ANIMALS
than to spend these on these EPIC DEBACLES
District 9 (2009)
Punchline that never comes.. LOOK CLOSER
Obviously the idiot who said that "Punchline that never comes" didn't really understand the film...
Maybe the last scene will clarify
This is a well done movie, not a classic, but its really good... Especially the ending.
Somethings do not end the way we want them to.
And the whole style of filming was a nice change too. The only thing that I didn't like was that how come the Commander of the Human Mercenary army kept getting out of every explosion and fight unharmed
All in all, its a movie well done It is definitely worth a watch
The Butterfly Effect (2004)
Its about Sacrifice
The movie is not about the time travel or about the powers one man has. It is about the sacrifice one has to make. Sometimes how much you love some one it just wont happen. Any power in the world wont make it happen. And only those who have faced it may know it. What Aston did for Amy in the movie is a sign of it. He loves her and always will but never have her. Even if he loves her the most. Its not a happy story its a sad story. And I really don't think 7.8 by so many people means nothing......
Its just a beautiful peace of art. I never expected Aston to do something so twisted and heart aching hats off
The Shining (1980)
Muppets are scarier
Maybe I'm being a bit sarcastic but the truth remains that this movie was not horrifying. This was supposed to horrify us????? I know exactly how some people will feel when they read my comment, cuz I felt the same when I saw someone write something like this when I read a few comments about Terminator 2 or even Fight Club. But sorry guys the truth has to be told, and yes everyone's perception matters its the whole lot of perception that make or break a matter. Learn to live with it instead of just flinging curses at me. Now about the movie, I must ask, which is the scary part??? The isn't genuinely 1 descent scene to make me feel terrified and or anticipate. And yes I'm quite easy to get scared, when I was younger 13 ghosts terrified me (seesh)... I am an avid horror fan and have seen from gore and violent movies (Zombie flicks) to complicated (Donny Darko)to completely non-sense movies. But nothing even comes close to this. I saw Zombie Holocaust a day back and thought that no movie can be worst, I'm still correct but maybe it was all the overhype and the anticipation that made me absolutely NOT LIKE The Shinning. I mean why is the movie even called "The Shining", it should be called, Jack Nicholson Balding, cuz that's what's the camera mostly covers. His balding spot(s). The end is the worst ending ever possible and nothing makes sense. If a ghost can unlock the door, why cant he kill the mother and the kid? If the Perverted Black Cook had the Shine and knew something was wrong, why didn't he bring a weapon? Was he mentally blinded by the Shine??? Or was he thinking he was macho enuf? For all I know Jack may have just forgotten a fuse outside somewhere and his wife would have found it and it would still be the same movie, now Stanley wishes he had called it the Balding.... Plus I rally didn't feel claustrophobic and or scared almost never. The only time I got a little (yes it was a tiny winy little wittle moment) when I saw the old lady. Maybe be it was the anticipation or maybe it was the horror factor, but I still believe that this movie could have been much better off with a genre of "Thriller" Horror sheesh Dark Knight was more horrifying
Sheep in the Big City (2000)
Smart bombs were Dating then they got engaged :D
Its something of nothing.... but its something....
the show is based on moronic, literals and crazy elements that make it all the better, it is not for people who are looking for purpose, it is pure and mindless fun. But its not all mindless at all times, it is quite witty and humorous. This show is not for little kids as it has a lot of elements in them which they may not be able to grasp. But for an adult who is a little off and had a bad day or just wants to get away, then this is an answer. Just sit back and relax and enjoy the nothingness from jokes like naming people "Private Public" to "Major Hazard" which is literally their job also. To having dumb Sultans who let even dumber guards to play catch with his most precious diamond :D even the commercials were a riot.... Oxymoron:- Bowling with the power of an OX {baaaaaa, ting ti ting ting } And his name was Ang-ree Scientist, Agn-ree not MAD .... lolz
Punisher: War Zone (2008)
Watch it with vengeance
26 minutes into the movie and I said my first word out loud "NEWMAN" and a punisher who reminds me of Till Linderman (Lead singer of Rammstein), and yes even in his flashbacks.... it was an pleasant surprise.... The action scenes were larger than life and FULL of GORE, and thats exactly what one can expect from a punisher movie. I mean cmon this guy is called "THE ANGEL OF DEATH", it isn't supposed to be all sugary and flowery. In the 1st punisher (2004) it was a new beginning and so the vulnerable side and emotional change was welcome, but this was obvious that the punisher had to be kick ass and a merciless vigilante. I really enjoyed this movie. Don't expect a master piece like "The Dark Knight", but its pretty good. Better than the 1st Punisher (2004).... If you don't mind blood and gore (and even better if you like it), then its a very good entertainment, with a nice little story (nothing unseen or awesome but descent) And it was worth it to see a THIN NEWMAN....
before I sign off wanted to say one thing
Me (disgusted and irritated) : "Newman"
I Love You, Man (2009)
New era of comedians
We have all seen the impeccable and hilarious teams of 1)Adam Sandler n Rob Schnider 2)Ben Stiller n Owen Wilson (sometimes Will Farrel n Vince Vaugh too) etc etc
and now we may be seeing a new one in the making, Jason Segel n Paul Rudd both have a strong comical history, one with How I met your mother n other with friends and a lot more... n both are just awesome together... I just hope they'll continue this bro-hood and give us more moments to laugh about.
Not the best comedy movie, quite a good one..... and am a very big fan of Jason Segel , so it all worked out for me....
And last but not the least : "Slapa de Bay-yes maan"
Ek Chalis Ki Last Local (2007)
Don't Judge a Book by its COVER
I had this movie with me for more than a week and I had no intention of seeing it. A few comments and a Night (that I'll always remember) later I was sure that I had seen one of the MOST ENTERTAINING movie in Bollywood ever (and yes I've seen A LOT). The whole ambiance of the movie is such that it is best seen at night, with a friend (but I enjoyed it most watching it alone) and SMOKES (don't forget the smokes).... I was not a fan of NEHA DHUPIA's acting and the only movie I had seen of ABHAY DEOL was "Socha Na tha", so I thought "well how good can it be?" Well 3 hrs later my question was answered, and it was "AWESOME". From the Unpredictable story to the Fascinating and Quirky (dont forget eccentric) characters, it was a joy-ride like no other. The background score is also a delight for sore ears (sore with all those Copycats and Himesh's nose bleeding high pitches). From the smooth bluesy guitar licks to the simple songs it was all a welcome intervention in the movie.
CHARACTERS-- My favorite character in this movie was MALVANKAR (or Harami Malvankar as he says it). Ashok Samarth is just too good as the Corrupt police officer with an attitude and presence the size of MT.Everest. Many of the characters reminded me of a classic series with a record for being Quirky and diff "Seinfeld".... and the comparison is worth every word of it.
Neha Dupia did well too (considering her track record) and this was the turning point in her career, after this she actually did start acting. Abhay Deol is the diff type of hero who actually dares to be diff, and hats off to him, as he can act (unlike most of the other Deols). In the end all I want is for you my friends to watch this GEM of a movie...
Friday the 13th (2009)
Jason its time........
to sleep.......
OK after 11 movies another one.... I thought that it going to be different.... I mean how many times can someone make a movie which has a plot, written by a brainless monkey on dope..... I mean Scooby Doo cartoons had more variations than this....(Hopefully)
The plot in short is..... 1.Teens come to lake 2.Jason Kills Teens 3.Teen (give or take 1 or 2) stop Jason 4.Jason comes back again........
I mean there is a limit to overkill man.... These people know no limit.... I'm sure that if anyone of these newcomers will make it big later on, they'll all say "Ohhh it was one of my stupidest movies ever".People still go to Friday 13th movies just cuz of the 1st one.... Rest is a progressively increasing pile of crap....
I mean cmon, slasher movies can have stories.. cant they???? If they are only made for cheap thrills and easy money then they are to be banned ............
What a crapolla.... don't even bother downloading this..... Not even worth the time
Notting Hill (1999)
Somthings are better left Unexplained
Well there are many people asking questions like, "Why would someone like Hugh like Julia, in this movie", well that's the beauty of it, when someone falls in love, it doesn't matter how bad or good the other person is. It only matters what the other person is to you. Sometimes they are cruel, sometimes sweet, but who likes whom, how can we define?
The jokes in this movie aren't all perfectly timed, and that's what that makes it more realistic. OK not all parts were realistic, but this is a very sweet and heart warming story. Its a story of hope, which we lately need a lot of. Hugh grant was the best thing in this film, his weird way of saying things and strangely accepting every unintentional crap his roommate threw at him, and the way he dealt with it (like the glasses scene) was hilarious. All in all this is one of my all time favorite Romantic Comedies. Especially the bench scene in the park, where Julia says "Sit with me", with Ronan Keiting singing in the back, "When you say nothing at all", was truly the scene to remember.....
First, truly fall in love then try this again.....
Braindead (1992)
Peter Jackson is Braindedad
I have been a fan of zombie flicks, since a very long time. And I keep searching for Zombie Movies over the net. So I stumbled across Braindead. Saw a rating of 7+ and was willing to watch it. I also never thought that zombie flicks can be bad. I always thought that somehow the movie would be at least a time-pass. I was wrong. This is the worst zombie flick ever. Worse than "Shawn of the dead". Half wit story, half wit acting and fully mental gore scenes. I mean who wrote this crap? OK a few scenes were really funny, but why would anyone have zombies at his home, and feed them dinner? And how did his mother become so big at the end. I mean I just want to go back in the past and undo this. Those huge nipples from the last scenes still haunt me. For true Zombie flick fans, please skip this. And for people who voted anything more than 4. Please first get an idea of what a zombie movie should be, you can try "Dawn of the dead", "Night of the living dead" and for even more beginners, just watch Micheal Jackson's thriller videos. One last word of advice, DON'T WATCH THIS MOVIE. Yeah somethings should be buried, like all copies of this movie.
I almost forgot the most memorable moment from this movie.... Priest (In an English accent, while going ballistic on some zombie, with his divine intervention, or as we call it Martial Arts): "I kick ass for the LORD"
Pineapple Express (2008)
Major Ass Wipe
Well Some of my closest pals told me to watch this movie, they said that it was good and they have seen it, and recommend it to me. I know this guys so well, so I saw this movie. And I have to tell you, always listening to closest friends can be such a PAIN.
This movie constantly reminded me that, how bored one can get. Seth Rogen is bad, and I mean really bad. Even in "Knocked up" the only good thing was Catherine Heigal. Seth has no comic timing, he's not funny and no being fat and goofy doesn't give you an instant ticket to Laughsville, but surely gets you a "Kick my ass" poster, right on your butt in High School.
The only reason why I kept watching this was because I wanted to see more of "Amber Heard" (not cuz she did a great job or something, only cuz she was looking cute), and she had only 3-4 small scenes.
That sucks.
James Franco I had some hope from him, and he was still believable as a weed seller, who is almost drowning in his own weed, all day long. The only thing that could have saved the movie would have been a really good ending.
Surprise surprise none here. Even the ending disappointed me. It was like the crew was torn between making a comedy and an epic. Most scenes were out of place and put on. It did have a few laughs, like the leg through the wind-shield, during car chase.
And every time Danny R. McBride kept on living, like an irritating little pimple which keeps on sprouting back up, every time you pop it.
Danny R. McBride as Red.... humm he was looking more like "Tom Hanks" on a very very very very bad hair day. So as I was saying, I've lost all my trust in those friends of mine, I'll think twice before doing something they say....
Hope this will save someone from 01 hour 52 mins of boredom.....
I would have given a '1' to this movie, but the '2' is just for Amber
Apocalypse Now (1979)
Snooze feast
Francis Ford Coppolla, Harrison Ford, Marlon Brando
and any one else worth mentioning,
cuz I don't really remember anyone, well its easy after 3 hours of FREAKING NOTHING.........
"The horror" "The horror" "The horror"
This teaches me a lesson, all that glitters is not gold. Believe me I tried to like it (just the another guy who commented), I thought that maybe there was something that I missed, I tried it again, but couldn't go all the way cuz suddenly it stuck me............
"The horror" "The horror" "The horror"
I stood up then walked a bit, sat down for a while, called a friend of mine, then watched this movie a little bit more,
"The horror" "The horror" "The horror"
I suddenly remembered Seinfeld's one episode where Mr. J.Peterman goes to Burma and becomes crazy and then I understood why he said "The horror" "The horror" "The horror"
did this review make any sense, well exactly like the movie it didn't..... Can Francis guess what's up my mind, hell no. Same here buddy..... Greatest film ever made my ass...... The only thing this movie is good for is PUNISHMENT............................
One final time with feelings
"The horror" "The horror" "The horror"
Lord of War (2005)
Inner meaning
Well let me clear this first and foremost, I hate Nicolas Cage..... Baldy.......... Well that has nothing to do with this film, because my hate for him was overcome by this movie. I didn't expect it to be good, or even worthwhile. While I was doing nothing sitting in my Mess (back in my collage days), someone brought this movie over and said "Watch this"... I was reluctant, but he had weird grin on his face..... And that told me that there was something worth watching it. And tell you friends the grin was worth it..... Not the greatest movie, not full of joy and yes no happy endings. But this movie tells us one side of the war which we never get to see. It takes you to the heart of a few sensitive issues.. And the most definitive moment of this movie is.... "People say that when good man do nothing evil prevails".... "We say Evil prevails"
and that's the exact thing they are tying to tell us. Take it as a wake up call or just fun time dark sequenced movie.. It tells the truth (well up to some extent)
My advice, people not into gray stuff stay away....
Valkyrie (2008)
Shut up and listen to what the monsters were saying
When I tell you people that I am into WWII, believe me..... I already knew what was the story of this movie (as I watch a hell lot of documentaries on these subjects). But this movie gives you the 1st person view of the events that took place and the consequences. This shows a more human side to the Nazis. Some of us also feels sorry for the monsters of the 50's era. And that's exactly what was intended.
Even though you know that the assassination of Adolf SOB Hitler fails, you still feel like "What if they would have succeeded". And some similar questions like that.
This is a good movie, don't believe the critics. I myself am not a Cruise fan, but I'll recommend this movie.
And like I always say, don't believe anyone, just go ahead and see it for yourself.
Its worth it.
S1m0ne (2002)
Al Pachino at his best, doing worst
I mean i still cant believe it was an Al Pachino movie, and how in the holy hell did he even take this shitty script. Simone was a simulation even in real life, I mean come on, she wasn't even hot. Winnona Ryder was not better then her... please!!!!!!!!!
Its full of mistakes both technological and non-technical.
I don't mind the idea behind the film but, I do mind the movie. It was just plain old bad.
Every one going gaga over Simone was also very unrealistic, especially without a base....
People spare this film and yourself. You just might get a wrong conception about Al after this.
And please I really do not find "Rachel Roberts" hot.
Deus Ex (2000)
Just Great
I'll tell you about an incident, that should explain how good this game is. My ex-girl friend and I was alone, and no one was around. Instead of doing it (you now what I mean), I was playing Deus-Ex.
This is the only game that could do this.
Yeah yeah an hour later I did it.... but this game was just awesome.
Gripping storyline is what makes this game special. If you are a person looking for a game with amazing graphics , then skip it. Cuz we don't wanna hear, "I hated this", "Lame" just cuz you would think that the graphics were lame. Still for the standards of 2000, the graphics are pretty good.
The multiple story lineups was the best part of it.
The Fever (2004)
Hard to swallow
This is a tough concept to take in, but yes somewhere down the line we all are guilty. We may not know it, but we are. But then again that's how this chaos called world runs.
For some this movie is just too much over their heads, for some its gold, some its an awakening and to some just a movie. Well it all depends what we wanna see and what we have seen, in our life. Its not only whites or some other people who are the ones to be blamed or said to be the evil. But its a cycle. After all if one person is eating a meal that means, there is someone in this world who is going with out a meal. If you get a job then others don't. If you succeed then others fail, etc etc. But this is a thoughtful film, don't take it as an insult or disrespect just because you are rich or white or any one who feels offended for what reason god knows. You were just lucky nothing else, that you have the time to see and be repulsed by this movie. Some don't get enough time to even breath properly.
Hell is not somewhere we'll go when we die. Its a constant revisiting place, that we visit each time we come back to reality from a few moments of piece and or love. Blessed ones enjoy and for those who don't get it now, don't bother, because if you could then this movie wouldn't have been made. And don't look for solutions in this movie, its just a movie about realization not solutions.... If you think there is then look closer.
Fight Club (1999)
Face facts
So after reading many of the "I hate" comments I realized a thing or two, well 1st of all there a few who think this movie is in a way (even if u may not realize it) an insult to Capitalism. Well let me tell you something, "IT IS TRUE"
Well there were people asking for the fact that why would young men join something this mindless. Well I have to say this but, "Mindlessness is the virtue for a tortured soul". There are many people who would do anything to get out of their present situation, for example many poor Thai people (like villagers) who take on "Muay Thai" (or kick boxing as many know), just as a way to get out of their present situation or life. Plus this is a movie not a documentary, there are bound to be mistakes. Get the idea behind it, if you are looking for flaws you can find it in "Monalisa" too.
And Oscars, well Shawshank Redemption also didn't get that much noticed did it? So didn't so many great movies. "The Departed" I mean come on, Martin Scorsese did deserve an Oscar, but "Departed" was not the one he should have received it for."Raging Bull"," Goodfellas", etc etc. He never got one for these???? Isn't that strange.
I'll say no, because this is what life is "Random Events, with no reasons most of the time". So what if fight club didn't get noticed for Oscar. Even better its like an artist never being realized for his caliber in his times. And this is movie is for dumb people? So what makes you so sure that you are that smart? Well this is after all a guy movie, and people who have actually been devoured by the consumerism and life style factor of our times can never realize it. After all once we have lost every thing then only we are free to do nothing..... :p
Whose Line Is It Anyway? (1998)
Impov at its best
I can't tell you how much this show influenced me. I used to watch this show while I was in High School, and since then even my type of humor is like Whose line. Even more than Friends (which Whose Line cast hated by the way).... one of my all time favorites....
This is one of the best improv shows I've ever seen, hats off to all those who ever did this, even for an episode.
I would like to especially mention Ryan and Colin. They are the jewels in the crown. But that doesn't make the crown any less significant. I don't really see people mentioning "Brad Sherwood", but I always loved his quirky and out of the blue "Weird News Casters" names like, "Chester Snapdragon-Mcfisticuff" or like "Giesebel Spankbottom", he was also really good at 2 Line Vocab, along with the other stuff. And who can forget Wayne, he was the best singer in the batch, and his shotgun lyrics were just a piece of his talent. The show was simple, off the hook and innovating every day.
Drew Carey was good too, but could have been better.
This type of shows can run forever, but sadly they don't. So after 8 years of running it was taken off air, but fans of comedy like us will always be hopeful.
Long story short, immensely talented people all mashed up to make a great show. Oh yeah and its for all.... they always cut off the good parts (censor)... (More interested viewers please check out the Bloopers on youtube.com)
