As much as the movie has some great scenes ,Dr. Lauren seems too snooty. She wants to go to Boston. This job at first means nothing. Only to get an out of the box experience to add to her Impeccable Resume from San Francisco. And WHY was she wearing stilettos in Alaska!? Walking to the hospital in heels? Waits until the Nurse takes her shopping? I know Hallmark Christmas movies can be corny. And this one is. Oh Wyatt thinks I'm a good nurse? Really? They KNOW EACH OTHER. Brian Doyle Murray is the only realistic character. The Hattie Character was spot on . We dress for function up here. Since Dr. Lauren really had no intention of staying. And at first it shows. She was biding her time for bigger and better. I wish Hallmark could make Christmas movies with better reality. All have Upper class lives. And the names. Nick. Holly. Chris. Rudy. Eve. And they ALL ARE SMILING. Living the GRAND LIFE. They have too much perfection.

Home Sweet Rome
(2023– )
Commercials are on TOO MUCH.
31 August 2024
Would possibly give it a try, but the constant commercials are destroying my intention. It's on Prime every 4-5 minutes. The storyline is ridiculous. Dad and daughter go to Rome. HE married a Rock Star? Daughter is taking over ROMA with HER MUSIC. Look and style is a take off of Miley Cyrus and her pigeon toed stance. Hair in top knots. I am just frustrated at the CONSTANT interruptions of this shows commercials. Try to watch ANYTHING and Home Sweet Rome shows up. Sometimes back to back advertising. Come on Prime. Give it a rest. Overkill is putting it mildly. I have to mute every time it shows up. Viva Roma is actually making me run for the woods. Plus I have NEVER heard of these cast members. Being a Baby Boomer you grow up on regular shows and get to know lead actors. Or character actors by name and/ or face. Now you don't know anyone.
Not so Forgotten Stars
30 August 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Seeing this classic Columbo episode was pure Nostalgia. John Payne brought his magic. As did Janet Leigh. Maurice Evans as Raymond the Butler and Linda Scott as Alma as their Butler and Maid were so classy. Sam Jaffe as the older husband protecting the wife who really did not marry him for love was heartbreaking. He knew why she married him. Lost era Star needed taking care of financially. Payne and Leigh are true Golden Era Magic. Fakk was his typical bumbling self. But you know he's ahead of the game. No one got away with murder with Columbia on the case. I loved how he dodged the system about his qualifying on the Shooting Range. He's been so busy. As his Superiors know. There was a scene at the beginning when Raymond took Dr. Willis his Milk and Sleeping Pill. When ( Jaffe) responded to Evans knocking you can see the tray was already on the nightstand! But as Evans approached the nightstand the previous tray wasn't there! The episode does make viewers see how fickle Show Business can be. But those in that era never lose that sparkle. The Glamour. Too often they are truly " forgotten" by the new Studio powerbrokers. Shameful because THE GOLDEN ERA is what made the Studios. The Era itself will never be forgotten.
Mr. Mom
(1983)
Heartwarming

The movie is very funny. Especially with Keaton's sense of quick comebacks. Teri Garr has been a favorite actress of mine . The rest of the cast was well chosen. One early scene that irks me is the gal in Produce who screeches 'IRV!? Clean up in Produce.'! Her voice and being so close to the toddler, Megan, would have made me cry. Poor baby's ears. The scenes were basically all funny to hilarious. Especially the scenes at the Men's Dance club. Keaton played it with his typical comebacks. He's just funny. Even if not trying. Beetlejuice for instance. No one else could have played Beetlejuice. Keaton and Garrett are just naturally funny.
The Most Interesting Episode.

The acting by Jonathan Lippe, aka Jonathan Goldsmith, is some of his finest. Delusional. Angry. Even good at lying. Knowing others don't believe him. The opening scene where Malloy and Reed see a young lady attempting to hitchhike. Her line ' My PARENTS are gonna KILL ME, showed she was worried about her parents. But NOT at a total stranger picking her up!! Like Malloy responded about the fact she will do what HE wants ALL THE WAY. And when HE'S DONE, you may be too. So this teen no doubt knew about the six other victiims. Apparently hitching was fun!? I get why the Dragnet theme was Dum, duh dum dum.
Strange Twists

Mannix on heroin? Noooo! He played an addict damn well. Crooked cops, played by Paul Carr and Roger Perry. Don Gordon is a typical bad guy. Mannix did quite a setup with his cop buddy ,Art. Linda Evans was stunning. But deceitful. Used Mannix for the money. But Lt. Malcolm came backfrom the dead from his backflip off the bridge AFTER Joe shot him . Mannix recovered quickly for being strung out. That usually takes months. But ,to my shock, all this chaos going on in the #BradyBunchHouse! What would Alice think? As usual Mike Connors ,Gail Fisher and Ward( Lt. Malcom were a fantastic trio. Nice.
Andy Teaches
9 May 2024
Andy got the boys interested in History by peeking their interests with actual historical events. Ms Krump was unbelievably harsh. Especially when calling Opie to speak. Very sarcastic. I wouldn't raise my hand with a teacher so crass. And Barney overdoing it with the Emancipation Proclamation was irritating. If you are teaching you can't be a Ms. Krump. Andy did excellent by talking TO the boys. Storytelling about true historical events was how to get their interest. The boys faces were pure delight. Seeing them hanging on Andy's every word was exciting. But Helen Krump needs to be less harsh.
All things relative

This episode is one of many that my cousin Paul West( Paul Hersey) wrote for many shows. Ozzie and Harriet. Paul was known as the Dean Of Family Comedy Writing. He retired from the industry as story editor for The Walton's. So amazing to catch up on his writing. I love the Donna Reed Show. Seeing Tisha Sterling as the instigator of fun was typical of teens. TV writing was innocent. Not like today. The language. The clothing. (Or lack of). How some innocent events like in this episode was. Such a crisis. I'm glad we can see these shows to remember. Reminisce. Donna Reed was THE TV Mom we loved.

Wasted time.

As much as I love The Andy Griffith show and it's characters, The movie focused on a few unnecessary scenes. Barney singing about Juanita. Andy and Opie?. Priceless! And the Monster Of The Lake was plain ridiculous. Helen Crump. Vb v Andy's wife with her usual nasty attitude. Why no scenes in Opies house? Seeing Jim Nabors, George Lindsay and Betty Lynn was amazing. Always enjoyed them. Hal Smith as Otis was nostalgic. As were the Darlings . But what happened to Charlene's Washs Baby? Andeline? And she was promised to Ernest T.? At least Howard Morris was his usual. Character. Not a nice trip.
Childrens Sanctuary
27 April 2024
The children needed a refuge from their loveless family. Especially the selfish Mother. How she explains what a divorce is is ridiculous. Kids are better off at Aunt T's for sure. Poor kids took verbal abuse from Mom on a daily basis. Emotional abuse. They're too noisy? Laughing? Dad should definitely boot Mommy Dear. He seems to not have much interaction with his own children. And their verbal attacks on each other? No wonder places like Aunt T's existed. Even if only in the Twilight Zone. Wishful thinking in children's minds and hearts ? For a hole in the bottom of a pool to Aunt T's. House.
Iconic Buster Keaton
26 April 2024
I love this classic. Combining Keaton and Stanley Adams is genius. And Jesse White as the Fix It man was a charm. I remember Keaton in the Beach Party movies. He is truly THE BEST COMIC performer on film. This role WAS Buster Keaton. Sterling mixed old School comedy of Keaton's facial expressions and acting beautifully in both time eras. All indeed learned to better appreciate their lives in their OWN era much better .. The Time Helmut taught both men a valuable lesson. The old adage ' Be Careful What You Ask for . Appreciate what you Have. I've seen this episode a couple of dozen times.. Classic.
Bewitching

Jess-Belle is one of the top 10. Enchanting. Heartbreak for both Ellwyn and Jess- Belle. Virginia Gregg as Jess mother is riveting. She knows her daughter gave her soul as payment to Granny Hart. Jeannette Nolan is at her best. But most confusing was how Billy Bens engagement ring to Ellie,at first, was passed seemingly without sentiment to both women. The ring is supposed to be a symbol of love and commitment. He should have exchanged the original to Ellie for another as they wed. And how did the dress mannequin end up in Billy Bens home? Surprised that Ellies parents accepted Billy Ben back.
Black and white preferred
27 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I've always loved Perry Mason. Black and white episodes were better. But I was curious to see it in color. It seemed to go to the 70's . Victor Buono as the villain,as he played quite well, looked too ' Batman'. But I did enjoy seeing Della Street in her best glamour style. Paul Drake had style too. And Perry was classic. Colorizing the episode showed L. A. at its best. Artwork. Stylish mansions. Glamour you don't see today. The old 'Hollywood Era' that's long gone.. Even seeing William Hopper in something other than his usual suit was interesting. Color did do justice in this episode. Bravo!!!
The Last Shot
8 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I've always been drawn to the Civil War history. And Rod Serlings adaptation of the War mixed with his usual twist of reality '"crossing 'over'" into non reality. Gripping performance by Joanne Linville as the devoted widow waiting for her husband to return to her. I wondered why ,of all the ' soldiers' passing by, that James Gregorys character was the only one to ask for water. Then interact with Ms. Godwin. Then Gregorys character not only stays, but plays the guitar ( guitbox) and sings the same song as Captain Godwin. Was he trying to prepare Ms. Godwin for her husbands return? Or to get her to ' see' the connection of dead soldiers walking down the road together. I admit I was stumped at first. Gregorys character saw her. Asked for water. Then the Yankee soldier came on horseback. Blind. But HE stopped in front of the house. Asked for water ' from the well'. Ms. Godwin was intent to put a bullet into the head of Yankee soldiers for the one HER husband took. I believe the Yankee soldier WAS her husbands killer. But he was also the one who saved the Sgt.s life by tending to his injury. Ms. Godwin didn't accept her husbands death. She was being ' prepared' for HER walk down to the end of the road . Abraham Lincoln being the LAST MAN was her final push to go. The Well Water connection? As a spiritual person, water is a conductor for energy. Spirits use water as a path. Serling did his usual magic here. Made you think. Wonder what the connection was. Linvilles acting was riveting. As was Gregorys. Never knew HE sang! This episode is one of my favorites. Twilight Zone will always be my favorite. Show.
Destination Tokyo
(1943)
Best War Movie
9 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A movie that's truthful and not a Hollywood made up story. Cary Grant was superb. All the actors and actresses were wonderful. This production should be a training film for HOW
epic War movies are made. Writer Steve Fishers story is superb. Since I've learned he was born in my hometown I've researched his career. Fisher obviously wrote from his Navy experience as a submariner. Very personal. He was there. Very gripping storyline. When a movie is actually a re- enactment of a true event, there's nothing better than being written through the eyes of someone who experienced it. This is Fishers life.
The Heckle and Jeckle Show
(1956–1971)
Classic cartoons
29 March 2023
Truly iconic and funny cartoons. No one can make cartoons like these and others anymore. Hanna Barbera. Etc. No voices like Mel Blanc and Alan Reed, etc. Computer generated ones are just awful. No one has the talent. I'd love to see a channel just show the cartoons made in that era. QuickDraw McGraw. Yogi Bear. Huckleberry Hound. And many more. We need something that us Baby Boomers remember. Just because we are ' seniors ' doesn't mean we can be left out. More of us that Millennials. I'd have a great time watching them. Good laughs and great memories. Something to share with Great Grandchildren. But just enjoy ourselves too.
Sventoonie

Awful
20 April 2022
Why is MeTv putting this show on? Fleming ISN'T FUNNY. Awful characters. Writing SUCKS. And Sventoonie singing is painful to hear. These shows and those who create. Write. And ' act' prove just how terrible tv has become. I don't watch them. But the promos on MeTv are slipped in. How long before the network realizes that the viewing public isn't fond of this dribble. What next? Goldie getting her own traveler show? Leila Gorstein characters are RIDICULOUS. Proves you DONT NEED TALENT to get paid TO PROVE IT!
Toon in with Me
(2021– )
Bill, Kevin Fleming and Leila Gorstein are ruining it
1 February 2022
Why is this show getting worse every day? The time being taken from classic cartoons is ridiculous. To showcase the unusual and unfunny characters created by Bill, Leila Gorstein and Kevin Fleming ? I wish the network and the production company would say something. But it's left to Baby Boomers to speak up I've never been so disappointed and angry because it's supposed to be a retro show. Talk about the cartoons creators. The talent behind them. Daws Butler. Mel Blanc. Hanna Barbera. Etc. Its FAR from it. While I truly enjoye the Saturday shows. I cannot stomach the week day ones. Always something worse created by Chicago's WORST talent. And each week Leila Gorstein and Kevin Fleming create MORE . Bill now has gotten out of control with friends creations ,and his own. Please stop promoting the show as cartoons with a Cartoon curator as host. Each day is worse. Too much time away from the intended agenda. And Sventoo is THE WORST.
