The first five episodes are very up and down in terms of quality, and I almost gave up watching it on more than one occasion. However, if you stick with it, around episode 6 it suddenly becomes a different show. It really picks up and maintains momentum to the end. Be aware that many reviewers didn't watch this far - don't let their reviews put you off.
Many parts of this second half of the season remind me of the original Ophan Black. There are a few conveniences in the story telling, and the cameos from original cast members don't that well (despite how good they were in the original), but overall it's a blast.
Personally I can't wait for season 2.

Six pups, of which five are boys and only one is a girl. She's dressed in pink and gets scared sometimes. Led by Ryder, another (human) boy. Mayor of the town is a woman of colour - who is portrayed as incompetent and constantly in need of the help of the boys. Sets a GREAT example for my daughter.
