Florida Man (2023)
It's great, but not perfect. Still I would recommend it.
Overall for me the show was a pleasant suprise and a fun ride. The plot, acting and dialogue are all well done. That being said there are number of times certain suspenssion of disbelief is required, but this is fortunately easilly doable as the show works so well as a whole.
I think the length is an issue both ways. As a movie this would have felt too rushed. Now the 7 ep's lenght makes it have few too many plot twists and suprises that needlessly go back and forth. And of course the inevitability of a 2nd season means that the conclusion has to be written open and vague enough to allow the possibility to continue the story.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Leave now and never come back
Horrible dialogue, paperthin characters, predictable, slow and boring plot. Some cool visuals.
Create something original, but don't try to pass this level of writing as LOTR. I have said my piece, but still need to come up with nearly 400 characters(?) Well played admins. Please be done with prequels and please hire some people with actual meritt to helm these projects. Amazon has some amazing shows availble, but sadly this is not one.
This show stands prouldy on par with the likes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Wheel of Time. If you take that as high praise, I don't know what to tell you.
- I'm quoting Gollum in my review title, even though I know it's in vain...
No Time to Die (2021)
No. Time to die
I almost fooled myself into liking this movie, but then the ending happened. They surely painted themselves into a corner with the contiunuing plotlines. Bond moves were in the past more or less standalone adventures and for me rightly so. I left the theater angy... And not many films have managed that.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Such a huge waste!
While I will not go into nitpicking the plot (and holes there-in) or spoiling the movie, as this has been done to death in other review (and rightly so).
I have say this: The tragedy of apparent lack knowledge of the star wars and vision of available possibilities is mind numbing!
"Out with the old" and "SWJ" approach is sadly the main theme of the new trilogy: tha main villain literally SAYS it(!)
Old characters deserved MORE. I can't emphasize this enough!!! How often in history of cinema can you hope to have a situation in which such a franchise and it's CORE actors are STILL capable of reprising their most iconic roles??? Just to be shot down in like this...
Two stars because 1) Mark Hamill was great despite the script 2) Some visuals were great
